Phillips Lumea has changed my life!

Just that, really.

Been using it since Xmas, every 10-14 days. Haven't removed hair from legs, pits, bikini line or arms in 10 days now and there's practically no regrowth. This isn't a sales pitch btw, I just wish I hadn't spent the last 10 years wanting one but thinking they were too much money!

It didn't really work for me with facial hair as you have to let it grow in between and mine grows really fast

shookennotstirred · 15/12/2019 22:16

I've just been gifted a Lumea, Christmas has come early! I can't wait to use it! This might sound okey a silly question but is it noisy? I want to use it now but the baby is asleep and I'd rather be hairy than wake him up 😄

WeakAsIAm · 15/12/2019 22:21

No not really just a low fan noise

MissSingerbrains · 27/12/2019 17:53

I’m really excited, after reading all the threads for months I got this for Christmas and tried it today 👏 Really easy to use and not at all sore or uncomfortable so I’m really pleased. Can’t wait to see some results in a few weeks. Stupidly I did one leg at the lowest setting before I realised, and didn’t want to redo it, so may end up with one leg hairier than the other 🤪

agteacht · 30/12/2019 22:57

Also just bought one and started! Did one underarm so I can compare 😂

Face done too, need to do legs next but they need a wax first and it seems such a waste of money! Could shave them but have been religiously waxing for two years. Do I trust the lumea enough to shave them?? 😂

MissSingerbrains · 31/12/2019 00:28

Ha ha, actually not a bad idea to only do one and compare! I would totally shave and not waste money on a wax - what’s the worst that could happen? 😬

I’m getting the normal amounts of stubbly regrowth on my legs and underarms, which is a bit disappointing as I wanted amazing results right now! 😂 Hopefully things will improve after the second go 🤞

MuddledUpAgain · 02/01/2020 08:31

Hi. Has anyone got the BRI921? Would they recommend it or is it not as good as other models?

Moana123 · 04/01/2020 18:00

I got the prestige for Christmas and have used it today for the first time on my under arm area. I’ve had a tiny bit of irritation and some small areas have bled (tiny pinhead spots) can anyone tell me if that’s normal? Thanks

Goatinthegarden · 19/02/2020 20:40

Oh my word. I came here to add my views. I saw one advertised in John Lewis years ago and was convinced it was a con. Years later, fed up with epilating (the only thing that gets rid of my dark hairs as shaving leaves a shadow and I don’t like growing hair my hair waxing) I was researching hair removal and this kept coming up.

So I took the plunge and bought one. Five weeks later, I haven’t finished the ‘boot camp’ but I’m already practically hair free!!

It’s actually unbelievable!!

agteacht · 19/02/2020 22:36

I definitely agree @Goatinthegarden !
I've done 3 rounds of 'bootcamp' now and great success with underarms, face and bikini line. Legs seem to be working too but I keep missing patches so need to do a better job of those (have a 9 week old baby so keep having to rush them!!)

After years of waxing, exfoliating etc I think this is actually the answer 🤞

Loveagoodbook · 16/04/2020 08:51

I know that this has probably been asked on here, I have tried looking honestly! My daughters legs are very hairy and it's upsetting her, her hair colouring is dark blonde/mousey, but her leg hairs are lighter, will it work for her? I don't really want to start shaving if it won't work. Thanks

JanewaysBun · 18/04/2020 12:58

Probably not tbh.
It's working really well on my legs but I have very dark hair. I think some lasers can sort that out but it's ££ so wouldn't want to do that before she's finished puberty.

If the hairs are light waxing could be a good solution?

RosesandIris · 26/04/2020 10:25

I have had one in the cupboard for months. I got it out of its box yesterday and tried it today. I am finding it doesn’t flash a lot of the time when pressed. It’s in contact with the skin. What am I doing wrong? Also it only has a face and body attachment. What do I use for bikini line? Is it harmful if i go over the same skin twice? It’s really difficult to know what you have done already and what not. Help!

pooopypants · 14/05/2020 13:06

@RosesandIris the window needs to be in full contact with your skin or it won't flash. I believe, that's my understanding of the instructions and the YouTube videos I've watched.
