Just that, really.

Been using it since Xmas, every 10-14 days. Haven't removed hair from legs, pits, bikini line or arms in 10 days now and there's practically no regrowth. This isn't a sales pitch btw, I just wish I hadn't spent the last 10 years wanting one but thinking they were too much money!

thisenglish - does that mean no hair grows on your legs now? I didn't think it was permanent like salon laser.

thisenglishlife · 27/10/2019 16:29

I've not had any growth in two years, apart from the strays I missed (so there's about 6 hairs on each lower leg and the same for each upper leg). I just tweeze them out.

If any hair grows back, I'll just start the fortnight treatments again. I do go over each leg about 3 times a year.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/10/2019 16:52

Sounds good thisenglish. I just have to decide whether it's worth 300+ pounds. I have some saved up Boots points, but enough to pay for all of it.

Batshittery · 27/10/2019 17:19

@Gwenhwyfar Have a look at the Philips website. When I bought mine, by signing up to the website I got 15% off. it's a decent saving

Gwenhwyfar · 27/10/2019 18:29

Batshit - yes, but I have a lot of Boots points so going straight to Philips would be more expensive.

Batshittery · 27/10/2019 18:50

Ah, ok.

Gwenhwyfar · 29/10/2019 11:07

I saw a cheap one in Boots. Duo One or something for £75. Anyone got any experience of it?

AskMeHow · 06/11/2019 21:37

Philips lumea are on offer at Boots at the minute. You get an extra 15% off today as well, I've just ordered one Smile

Lellochip · 06/11/2019 21:44

If you're looking at buying one now, it might be worth waiting till Black Friday, seem to remember they tend to pop up on Amazon

AskMeHow · 07/11/2019 11:05

I thought about that but with the offer it was £200 instead of £350. I dunno if black Friday will beat that tbh!

AnythingConsidered · 08/11/2019 22:28

A huge thank you to this thread for giving my the push to buy something I had coveted for so long!

I have just finished my 4th treatment and have seen significant reduction in my hair across my whole body.

Armpits, stomach and hands - no hair growth 2 weeks after my 3rd treatment

Legs - 95% no hair growth after a week since shaving (used to shave daily). The 5% are the areas that I've missed in treatment

Bikini - much more stubborn (& much lower strength!) so I think it will need another 2/3 treatments. Having said that, the growth is patchy, I am able to remove some hair with my finger nails and in growing hairs have all but disappeared.

Arms - not yet started treatment, but in view of the successes above, it will definitely be starting pre-Xmas

It is time consuming to do, though I am getting quicker with each treatment, but has been worth every penny and minute of time invested.

If you've been uncertain, get it!

I have white hair. Was getting v excited thinking i had found the perfect hair remover but it wont work for my hair colour..totally gutted 😭

TheGirlFromStoryville · 09/11/2019 07:16

I have lots of thread veins, varicose veins, and freckles, has anyone used it with similar issues successfully?
I have pcos and I'm very hairy Blush

AskMeHow · 12/11/2019 08:47

I think the prestige you can use cordless (but don't quote me on that!)

I was the same until I realised it probably wouldn't work on my blonde hair. It's too expensive to take a chance.

isthismylifenow · 12/11/2019 11:33

Con, same problem.

Light hair and freckles. I was wanting to buy one for dd but she is blonde as well.

I have been following this thread for months just waiting for a fair person to have taken a chance and reply with a ....it works. But no, hasn't happened.

joangray38 · 12/11/2019 11:38

I have fair skin/ blonde hair and it has reduced my arm/ upper lip hair, maybe not as much as if if I had darker hair but it has improved. I bought my lumea through eBay so it wasnt that expensive

ConFusion360 · 12/11/2019 12:54

Thanks. I've seen them on there but wondered if the sellers were all blonde. Grin

JanewaysBun · 12/11/2019 13:42

Thanks AskMeHow
I was thinking corded as I've heard you have to keep using the cordless one or the battery goes flat. I'm useless at remembering things like this!

NurseNancyandDoctorDavid · 15/11/2019 09:33

The corded prestige is on offer at Costco for £300 Smile

JanewaysBun · 16/11/2019 21:00

Ooh Nurse you've added that to the mix now!

I'll only really be using it for my lower legs as my bikini and underarm are already lasered off (although still have hair on my vulva lips which I might want to remove) will the advanced be ok in this case as don't need to do loads of areas?

Raindrop12 · 22/11/2019 15:57

Currently £291.75 on Amazon.

This is an amazing product. I've been using it since January so have graduated from once every two weeks to six week treatment intervals. I must admit I've sometimes felt the need to treat a little earlier than this on some areas (arms and face) but overall it's had a massive effect.
My legs haven't been this smooth since I was about ten!

agteacht · 09/12/2019 00:49

Just read this thread end to end and am convinced! Especially given it's now winter so a good time to do it...

Does anyone have any particular views on the Prestige BR1953 vs the BR1954??

The 1953 is currently £270 at Boots with £40 of points. Apparently down from £475...

The 1954 is currently £263 at Amazon. Apparently down from £550...

So 1954 is probs better but how much better I wonder as the £40 of points is tempting...

agteacht · 09/12/2019 01:12

Just found a product comparison tool on the Philips website and it shows no differences between them...
