Ah I see, yes based in London. I'm surprised she wore her stuff again after she said the wedding dress was plagiarised.

itswinetime · 24/02/2019 21:41

If a designers from New Zealand based in London counts can we give Meghan a designer from the UK based in France? Give her a fair chance Wink

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/02/2019 21:43

Yes I think so, itswinetime. What is British? British born designer? Foreign born designer based in London? Does the garment have to be made in Britain?

AnnaMagnani · 24/02/2019 21:44

I didn't like the VB coat when she wore it at Christmas but did on the re-wear. Could see a non-pregnant Meghan in most of the new collection, totally QueenOfTheAndals

And how could I forget the Stella McCartney wedding dress. Why haven't we seen more for her?

PinguDance · 24/02/2019 21:48

Maybe she should bust out some see through, spangled, cut out Julien MacDonald? I would love that.

kooshbin · 24/02/2019 21:48

Sophie looks wonderful in those photos, rhubarb.

strangerthongs · 24/02/2019 21:49

Love the colour but it doesn't fit right.

£7k earrings Shock that won't help her popularity

Paradyning · 24/02/2019 21:52

Ah come on. Kate's everyday Kiki earrings are about 2k each and she has many, many different permutations of them.
It's perfectly acceptable for a member of the RF to have some bling. She has worn those many times too.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 21:52

Kate paired her Gucci from the other week with £7k earrings. Doesn't appear to have affected her popularity.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/02/2019 21:54

The Queen having a stash of very expensive jewels, some of questionable origin, has not harmed her popularity.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/02/2019 21:55

Not bothered about jewellery prices because that lasts for ever and is handed down.

itswinetime · 24/02/2019 21:58

in fairness between the wedding and being pregnant Meghan didn't really have any formal events and while I'm sure Stella could create a look for her the general silhouette is very minimalist and I'm not sure how it would work on someone pregnant.

I agree it's AFifthOfKoolAid where is the line drawn? Victoria Beckham has admitted to working with a team of designers in the past and they spilt time between the I'm and US still dont they?

I do think the royals have a great position on the world stage to highlight the UK but I think in reality it's a lot harder than it seems!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 21:59

I actually don't think Meghan is particularly unpopular, it's just that the tabloids want people to think she is. Don't get fooled by their agenda!

£7k earrings shock that won't help her popularity

Which she has worn several times before.

TSSDNCOP · 24/02/2019 22:01

Love the Dior, but loved the red Valentino even more. She's nailing it in Morocco!

I've got a dress in similar tone to the Dior. Looks great, but flash photography does it no favours.

TSSDNCOP · 24/02/2019 22:03

She could always try Lipsy to fly the flag Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 22:04

Yes I think so, itswinetime. What is British? British born designer? Foreign born designer based in London? Does the garment have to be made in Britain?

Good point @AFifthOfKoolAid. For example Catherine Walker was French but her label is British, CWK is British but her label is French. And McQueen is a British label but the clothes are made in Italy!

BeautifulComicalThings · 24/02/2019 22:05

Ooh I thought everyone would love the Dior! I like it but the crossover bit at the top makes her chest look odd, might it have looked better if it ended further down/covered her boobs? Gold shoes are nice.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 22:07

Lipsy? Bit spendy @TSSDNCOP. How about BooHoo? Something like this would showcase the crown jewels perfectly, don't you think?

youllhavehadyourtea · 24/02/2019 22:07

She needs to find some up and coming, younger designers she can champion and showcase who can compliment her personality with their designs.

She needs an Angela Kelly to advise her - not sure her american stylist chum is the right person to do this.

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 22:10

Lipsy? No, indeed!

Surely she'd find something worthy of a state occasion quite easily from the esteemed British designer George William Davies

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/02/2019 22:11

You really think she should be taking tips from a woman whose day job is dressing a nonagenarian?

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 22:11

I'm sure she'll get there eventually. In the past 15 months she got engaged, married, pregnant and undertook a few official tours. There's plenty of time ahead for her to find a stylist!

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 24/02/2019 22:12

Depends where you're keeping your Crown Jewels OP. The Fail likes to tell me about Boohooers that buy dresses that show off the parts no Duchess would talk about.

itswinetime · 24/02/2019 22:12

I think all the royals could do with following that advice! The impact someone with their level of attention could have on up and coming designers and the knock on effect that could have on British fashion would be massive I think!
