I thought the QM had a massive overdraft & then it was netted off against her assets on death so she saved death duties.

Rhubarbisevil · 01/03/2019 12:30

LK Bennett is going to go into administration. Is this because Kate has stopped shopping there? Bennett on brink of collapse [[https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47413269]]

Rhubarbisevil · 01/03/2019 12:32

Bloody BBC link. Well, you get the gist.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/03/2019 13:09

@Rhubarbisevil You need to do 2 [ then the link then the words then 2 ]

If that makes sense!

I love Mathilde's jumpsuit! Gorgeous colour and style on her.
My 86 year old MiL sometimes gets a bruise on her hand. Usually she will remember bumping her hand but not always. She's a retired nurse and says that it's usually just part of ageing rather than anything sinister.

MotherofPearl · 01/03/2019 13:34

I do think Rania's dress would suit Kate. Looking again at her whole outfit though I really dislike those lilac shoes.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/03/2019 13:47

Maybe HM bruises more than we realise.
She’s usually wearing gloves.
She also has the same hands as Charles; I noticed elsewhere. Sausage fingers!

UrsulaPandress · 01/03/2019 14:40

The Queen’s bruise could be equine related. They can be buggers.

A new book about Queen's clothes, by Sali Hughes: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bud-lSQg5nn/

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/03/2019 15:44

Oh I really like Sali's writing!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/03/2019 15:45

I haven’t read any of her work, but I love the cover. I’d buy it for that alone.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/03/2019 15:50

Meghan is joining an I teresting discussion panel for International women’sday March 8th.

After some of her speeches; I will be interested to see what she has to say.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/03/2019 15:50

Granted I've not read her books but her columns are great. She wrote a really good article about toxic parents too, and why Meghan was doing the right thing by going NC with her dad.

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 01/03/2019 15:53

Good for Meghan, that sounds like a great panel. She's an excellent public speaker so she should do well. I like Julia Gillard, when she was PM of Oz she gave a fantastic speech on sexism.

Ooh I've ordered Sali's book, I love her writing. Thanks for the link.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 01/03/2019 20:00

That's an awesome book cover.

Used to work in publishing and the cover meeting was one of my favourites. Turns out you probably should judge a book by its cover Grin

certainlymerry · 01/03/2019 20:02

There’s a programme on channel 5 at 9pm on MM.

VanillaSugarr · 01/03/2019 20:45

I used to work in publishing too itsniceitsdifferent - who did you work for? I was at Egmont.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 01/03/2019 20:58

I was at Faber!

VanillaSugarr · 01/03/2019 21:20

Oh, all grown up stuff. I did Noddy and Thomas the Tank Engine!!! Miss those days

I won’t be watching the MM c5 documentary. Hopefully the press will get bored and move onto someone else.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/03/2019 03:35

Really love this jacket on Mathilde

Royal style & gossip: Megs goes mad in Morocco, Kate keeps cool in Kensington
QueenOfTheAndals · 02/03/2019 07:13

Not a fan of that jacket, Mathilde looks like a pearly queen! I find her style a bit uninspiring and matronly tbh, although she does occasionally take a fashion risk with something like a jumpsuit and credit to her for that.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/03/2019 08:25

Concerned by HMQ hands. Most likely a knock, but sad to see.

beanaseireann · 02/03/2019 09:18

Mathilde looks gorgeous in that picture.
Nice to see them holding hands.
There should be a Mumsnet heart emoji and a thumbs up emoji.
