With Meg’s fitness level and flexibility due to yoga hopefully she will have an uncomplicated labour and birth. Some women bounce back quickly. The mom of a young SE London family I watch on YouTube had her 5th baby and was back at home with lots of energy the same day and within 24 hours was up cooking for all her family despite lots of help from her mum and her husband. She was very relaxed about it.

I think the public is getting used to M & H’s smart-casual style and so I hope they do whatever they feel is appropriate and authentic to them in how they do their baby “reveal” Bear. Although I think the papers will go bonkers whatever they do. They have become the ultimate Brexit distraction.

OMG guys will we be following baby fashion soon or will they sensibly keep their baby under wraps as much as poss?

IdaBWells · 25/02/2019 15:49

Meg is actually very British in her cheerful attitude of carrying on regardless “Keep calm and carry on”.

LaurenOrdering · 25/02/2019 15:51

Meghan certainly does have very good posture & yoga does help. I bet she can do the tree for hours.

ElspethFlashman · 25/02/2019 15:53

Lest we forget during Kate and Williams tour of the South seas, she inadvertently wore a dress from the wrong island.

It wasnt her fault, the dress was left in her hotel room as a welcome gift but a cheeky fecker from another island caught wind of it and snuck into the room prior to their arrival and left a dress from his own island. She chose that one and turned up that evening in the "wrong" dress. You could tell by the pattern what island it was from.

banivani · 25/02/2019 16:03

Omg Elspeth am cringing at that.

In Sweden the royal dad comes out with tears in his eyes and wobbly voice and makes a statement a few hours after the birth, and then there are a few photos from a distance as they head home a day or so later, baby car seat in hand. All very relaxed. I think a wobbly PH would go down very well. ;) I can prob link to videos if you want ;)

EstrellaDamn · 25/02/2019 16:04

I found it irritating beyond words when Kate came up to Scotland last month and wore tartan 🙄

I'd much rather they just wore what they wanted to, rather than going so literal. It's boring and patronising too.

EstrellaDamn · 25/02/2019 16:13

Is Olivia Colman wearing the Dior dress at the Oscars party?? On my phone so can't do a pic, but looks very very similar.

queenofarles · 25/02/2019 16:18

Oh no the Moroccan people are not like that, they love it when foreigners dress Anything Moroccan, as I’ve mentioned before they are very proud of their heritage and culture.
I sometimes dress in kaftans from a local place in Marrakesh and I always get complements from locals.

I see that they were just at the ambassador residence, so I think Dior is a bit too dressy.

banivani · 25/02/2019 16:25

So they wouldn’t be secretly going “I see the Rabat crowd got in first with their dress typical isn’t it very gaudy colours if you ask me but sure no one ever does don’t mind me” Grin

Somewhere in the first thread I told you all what my daughter said - she thinks all the royals should just fucking go for it and stop pretending to be relatable. Go full Capitol. Dye their skin, teeter on heels high as small buildings, be outrageous. Why pretend. Wink

Janecon · 25/02/2019 16:33

I absolutely love those shoes. They're gorgeous!

SenecaFalls · 25/02/2019 17:00

Is Olivia Colman wearing the Dior dress at the Oscars party??

Color is similar, but Olivia's dress is more fitted, has a trumpet skirt, and a kind of 1930s vibe.

Thedarklady · 25/02/2019 17:09

Meghan's hair looks lovely in the photo with the white blazer and pony tail. The Blahnok shoes are beautiful and classic. I love her in the Breton top too.

Thedarklady · 25/02/2019 17:10

Sorry Blahnik, autocorrect.

frugalkitty · 25/02/2019 17:10

I'd link if I could, but I love this from the DM...apparently the Moroccan ambassador has quite the following!

frugalkitty · 25/02/2019 17:11

Actually that should be the British ambassador in Morocco.....I think....sorry....

rosewater20 · 25/02/2019 17:12

I am a bit disappointed that MM hasn't worn anything from a local designer or a British one (unless I am wrong here). She looked fine in everything (and her makeup is always amazing), but I was hoping for some beautiful dresses in vibrant colours by Morrocon designers or for her to fly the British flag a bit by promoting our designers. I can only imagine that she has a team of people back home who she could have had sourcing designers and clothing, so it isn't as if she needed to do the research or shopping herself. She looks greats in causal wear but what she has worn on this tour won't be remembered. I felt as if her NYC outfits showcased a bit more effort then these outfits do. I am hoping she goes away on maternity leave and takes some time to adjust and learn and then comes back in full fashion force.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/02/2019 17:13

The black pleated dress is Givenchy and it's a rewear. She wore it to her ACU engagement but it was under a sweater then.

Their last engagement is with the King of Morocco this evening so I expect we'll see photos. Lalla Salma will alas not be there. She hasn't been seen in public for 2 years Shock

I am always baffled by the really poor sartorial choices of Slebs

It's like :

You have the body
You have the looks
You have the money
You have the access
You have the invitation

And you chose THAT

latedecember1963 · 25/02/2019 17:20

I realise it's historical style and beauty but last week DH and I went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the miniatures exhibition. We also looked round the rest of the gallery. Some of the royal paintings were fascinating in terms of the symbolism of details in the embroidery or jewels chosen.
I had hoped to go to the Dior exhibition but we were told tickets sold out weeks ago for half term week. It would be good if there was a screening for regional cinemas like they do with ballets or opera occasionally.

thatone · 25/02/2019 17:45

The dress and jacket combo really suits her. They look so relaxed and happy in Morocco, and I love that she keeps hammering home the message of education to improve prospects for girls.

itswinetime · 25/02/2019 17:49

I think it's really easy to say the royals should where British or local and in an ideal world it would be fab but being practical.

Local designers sound fab but finding one with the right style and the ability to make a dress in the time deliver and fit when they have maybe 5 minutes with Meghan pre engagement I'm not sure it's practical. And what about the after effects? Meghan highlights a small company people go mad trying to emulate brand can't meet demand brand gets a bad rep Meghan gets the blame. It's a great idea but is it practical? I have no idea maybe sometimes but possibly not always.

And back to the British again it's a fab idea but we have only been able to name to designers that fit with meghans style and neither are known for maternity wear and both are big fashion brands. And let's be honest all the fashion houses are multi national now. Designers from all over the world dresses are not always made in the country of design and the all have shops employing people all over the world. Kate wearing Alexander McQueen boosts Alexander McQueen yes but is it boosting British fashion I'm not so sure. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Small up and coming I can see it although previous problems still apply but big fashion brands I'm not sure it makes a difference but that's just my take on it!

user1457017537 · 25/02/2019 17:52

Where’s Lalla Salmathen if she hasn’t been seen for 2 years! Is she safe and well or is no one concerned about her!

ElspethFlashman · 25/02/2019 17:55

"Go Full Capitol"

Yeah baby!!!

itswinetime · 25/02/2019 18:02

I have just been looking at that apparently she was last seen officially in 2017 and there are rumours of a divorce but no one seems to know where she is where she is living of have and confirmed sighting of her since then which seems strange at best and really worrying to me but maybe there is more to it that I can't find!

beanaseireann · 25/02/2019 18:09

BartonHollow
I absolutely agree with you.
A case in point - Kate's ghastly Erdem dress she wore in Sweden I think. It looked like she took the curtains down and made a dress with them.
It was mustardy coloured with a flower pattern.
Also many of the Oscar attending stars this year.
Dear God Hmm
All that money, an amazing figure and so often good looks too and you choose that !!!!
Mind boggling to a mere mortal like me.
Charlize Theron, Rachel Weisz,Emma Stone and Rita Ora spring to mind
