SOTD is Tauer L'eau. Fizzy yet powdery lemon blossom with depth from sandalwood and musk. Very Taueresque and very lovely if you're a fan of citrus but don't want to smell too much like clean laundry.

I ordered this because I'm not generally a fan of citrus perfumes and I wanted to see if AT could do something interesting with one; obviously he can but I doubt this will end up on regular rotation for me as it's still just too...lemony.

Georgianfairy · 29/03/2019 09:06

I was unsure what sotd would be until I saw Maud's post so now it will be L'Eau as well as I love it! No such thing as too lemony in my book! Grin

teta · 29/03/2019 09:15

I’ve locked myself out. So not a good start to the day. The kids have taken all my working keys. So I’m waiting for my friend to come with a spare key. I’m freezing as i’m in flip flops & t shirt due to my 40 mins school drop off and the ladder has not been cooperating!
But I smell nice - eau d private collection😆.
I’m warming up in the car.

67chevvyimpala · 29/03/2019 09:40

Change of plan - ds2 chose 4160 amberama :)

FloofyCatTheFragranceFanatic · 29/03/2019 10:18

Mother and lots PM me your addresses and I'll get the Timeless samples in the post Smile might be after the weekend though

teta · 29/03/2019 11:03

Floofy it’s nice to have you back. Your description of Baccarat Rouge made me laugh. I love it. It conjures up candy floss, amber and a woody orange and is curiously edible and addictive. In contrast Dh hates it and says it smells like mouldy wood.
Phew, I’m back in. Spent an hour waiting/watching a pair of gorgeous fluffy blue tits sitting on my gate and flying in and out of their nest in our garden wall right next to my car.

67chevvyimpala · 29/03/2019 13:11

Been to town.

Smelt the new LVEB flanker.

Total PM 🤢

Am now scoffing hotel chocolat chocs 🙄

KaliforniaDreamz · 29/03/2019 16:31

I'm scoffing Toberlone

found a room scent in the White Compay called Spring which is lovely (hints of my fave MH)

ToftheB · 29/03/2019 16:50

Hello, I’ve been following along but not had much to declare recently. Treated myself to another couple of small 4160 Tuesday perfumes this week though. I’ve gone for Centrepiece, which is nice but I don’t love it... I think I’ll need to try a few more times before I make my mind up properly. It might not have been the perfect partner for today’s spring sunshine. However, I also got Rhubarb and Citrus, which I’ve been wanting to try for ages and it is absolutely beautifu. Sharp, fresh and so rhubarby, exactly what I hoped it would be. I can’t stop smelling myself! I think I’m going to need a bigger bottle!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 29/03/2019 17:03

Rhubarb and Citrus is fab isn't it? Can't wait for the warmer weather when it really comes into its own. Rhubarb and Custard is great too.

67chevvyimpala · 29/03/2019 17:12

Sote 4160 Tuesdays amberama.

Have they released the half price sotw yet?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 29/03/2019 17:54

It's Killer Rose I think chevvy

I've just ordered the 50ml EDP of Clouds Illusion, the new crowdfunder. If it's anything like Eau My Soul it'll be a keeper.

MotherOfDragonite · 29/03/2019 18:51

I just went and looked, chevvy, and looks like it's Killer Rose.

I just got my Marina Barcenilla samples and can't stop sniffing my wrist, which is doused in Patchouli Clouds. What a masterpiece! I'm seriously tempted by India and just really frustrated I can't smell it before deciding whether to save up for a bottle. But Patchouli Clouds is exceptional and maybe I'd rather get that one instead, who knows if I can't smell the other one. Hrrmmmm.

MotherOfDragonite · 29/03/2019 18:51

My life dilemmas these days are so... first world GrinGrinGrin

teta · 29/03/2019 19:01

Patchouli Clouds is just stunning. If you want to share a bottle I would be happy to do so Mother. I’m also getting increasingly frustrated nearly every Marina Barcenilla perfume sample is out of stock. And has been for several weeks. What a way to run a business. There is no way of trying India anywhere unless you live in Somerset.
Yep, first world issues 😊.

67chevvyimpala · 29/03/2019 21:40

Hmmm.
Not sure about killer rose.
Sigh.
Its never one I want! :(

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/03/2019 22:08

SOTD Tauer Coeur Du Desert. I am on holiday!

cantbelievemyeyes · 30/03/2019 10:24

That's really kind Count, would love to try Bois Naufrage- will PM you.

SOTD is L'Ombre Dans L'Eau, such a fresh Spring scent which I had forgotten I had. Definite tomato leaf note which is so cheery!

I have a couple of samples to rehome if anyone wants? Frederic Malle En Passant (Lilac with green/wheat notes) and 4160 Tuesdays Sleep Knot (jasmine and sandalwood). Not my thing so happy to give them away.

MotherOfDragonite · 30/03/2019 11:22

teta I would say yes to splitting a bottle of Patchouli Clouds but I'm seriously considering putting the money towards a future blind buy of India :-/ ... I really like her stuff, even Spring Rain (which is SO not my thing) is lovely.

SOTD is Patchouli Clouds, layered with one of her chakra scents (Svadhisthana) which I liked the sound of. It is a very gentle scent, not like a perfume so almost no sillage but very grounding and calming -- which I need as I try to focus on my essays today!

MotherOfDragonite · 30/03/2019 11:27

Also, wtf is happening with Brexit. Literally nobody seems happy.

67chevvyimpala · 30/03/2019 11:59

Sotd amberama again.

I've been out running errands.

Lovely sunny day here

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 30/03/2019 14:44

Oooh calm I would love to try Sleep Knot if it's not already gone.

SOTD is Saint Julep from Imaginary Authors. Mint and sugar with an opening note of orange/tangerine. It's lovely for a short while and then disappears into a slightly disappointing burnt-sugar nothingness. Lots of comparisons to Baccarat Rouge on Fragrantica. I would wear it again but the sillage and longevity is poor.

Re: Brexit - god knows. Horrendous. Thank god for scented comforts...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/03/2019 14:56

Picked up Chloe Love Story Eau Sensuelle today for a bargain price. Total blind buy, which i really am an absolute fiend for doing but i like it Smile

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/03/2019 18:12

Unlurking here to say I love reading this thread and you are all very informative.
I got the Floral Street Discovery set as a birthday present & have been trying it out. My SOTD is London Poppy. I love this & think I will end up buying one of the bigger sizes.
I love the juicy citrus flowery blast at the beginning & it reminds me a lot of Clarins Sunshine Fragrance (which I always wear on holiday/in the Summer if I can get hold it.....it's a bit like gold dust trying to find it.)

67chevvyimpala · 30/03/2019 18:21

Sote Avon timeless
