New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

Am loving that so many of you love timeless 😁❤

Lotsofpots · 27/03/2019 19:52

I need to try timeless. Love a bandwagon to jump on.

I tried the tom ford lost cherry last week. Definitely not for me. Smelt like cherry drops initially before drying down to something bland and inconsequential, though retaining a definite TF vibe throughout.

We're in Center Parcs this week so SOTD is basically chlorine.

FloofyCatTheFragranceFanatic · 27/03/2019 19:56

Pleased to send it to you chevvy as you kindly gave me the purple apple one :) PM your address again?

Anyone who wants a teeny (1 or 2 ml I think) Timeless sample let me know, I think I have three left if there is a couple of takers? Dabbers though.

67chevvyimpala · 27/03/2019 20:08

Oooh lovely.
Ill pm you x

FloofyCatTheFragranceFanatic · 27/03/2019 20:30

Lots would you like a timeless sample? I couldn't like Lost Cherry either (on paper I should love it). Smelt artificial and sharp on me.

I also meant to ask for any advice on Bergamot-y perfumes? Obsessed with bergamot atm. I adore the Atelier Cologne one but it's so £££ and doesn't last. Considering (samples of!) Tom Ford Venetian Bergamot and maybe something Jo Malone-y? (From Perfume Parlour as they're better value for No Malones!) Any recommendations?

On that note, I'm sorry I can't find it now but someone asked about essential oils? Bergamot is one of my favourites for this time of year as well as lime, grapefruit etc and they can be mixed to a personal blend. May Chang is also gorgeous. (There are some oils you should avoid if you have epilepsy just in case anyone else does).

67chevvyimpala · 27/03/2019 20:33

I think you'd like the pp le labo bergamot 22.

alonerinlona · 27/03/2019 20:47

Hello lovely perfumistas!
I've dipped in and out of these threads but would like some advice if you would be so kind Smile
I'd like to get my mum a perfume that smells like sophisticated Parma violets. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm away so won't be able to go sniffing but looking online it seems Annick Goutal's La Violette might be a winner but as it's pretty pricey I'm feeling a bit apprehensive... anyone had a sniff??

67chevvyimpala · 27/03/2019 20:50

Guerlain insolence :)

MotherOfDragonite · 27/03/2019 20:54

Floofy, it's good to meet you, I am one of the new guard and I am thoroughly, irretrievably and enthusiastically down the perfume rabbithole!

And I would love a sample of Timeless if you would be so kind! I'll PM you.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 27/03/2019 21:38

Evening all Smile. Sitting here watching the votes in the House tonight. Gaaaaah.

Anyway. In Heure Exquise today - swoon. Soft pillowy, powdery clouds of iris and sandalwood. So grown up and so beautiful.

Have been away with work since Sunday - wore Memoize Superbia from the Perfume Society box yesterday and absolutely loved it. Really lush, thick, leather, amber and patchouli, lasts for bloody ages, fab. I could happily have a FB of that but it's £177 Shock

Figgy perfumes - how about Parfumerie Generale Bois Naufrage or DS & Durga Debaser?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/03/2019 21:54

Hi floofy.

SOTD is a sample of Chanel Gabrielle I found in my knicker drawer. Unremarkable.

aloner FM Lipstick Rose is very violet-y. Also ££££.

cantbelievemyeyes · 27/03/2019 22:31

Maud I do love Debaser as well, though not tried the Bois Naufrage. Gah, am just going to have to get my hand in my pocket if I want a good one, aren't I?

I did order a Rose Flash from Les Senteurs today though. Been lusting after it since I tried it at Christmas.

SOTD- several as trying some 4160 testers. As much as I enjoy lots of these, most disappear on me in minutes. Dirty Honey this morning, Rome 19-whatever this afternoon, Rhubarb and Custard tonight.

MrsMoggs · 27/03/2019 22:39

Welcome Alone. This depends a bit on whether your mother has a well developed sense of humour, but Tart's Knicker Drawer is a good vintage-style Parma violet (with rose and raspberry, from memory).

Lotsofpots · 28/03/2019 07:00

I'd love a timeless sample floofy - thank you!

67chevvyimpala · 28/03/2019 08:08

It looks spring like but I think its cold...

I might go for very Valentino today

alonerinlona · 28/03/2019 10:53

Thank you! I've ordered insolence and had a bit of a crazed moment in 4160 Tuesdays... Grin
For mum - tarts knicker drawer, paradox and goodbye Piccadilly (these are all violetty apparently)
For me - as I can't go without - pillow talk and small tasters of sex lace and chocolate, New York 1955 and sexiest scent on the planet

Yum yum yum can't wait for delivery Grin

67chevvyimpala · 28/03/2019 12:49

Sexiest scent is one of my favourites :)

MotherOfDragonite · 28/03/2019 14:59

SOTD... I sprayed Une Rose Chypree down my cleavage, intentionally leaving both arms free for testing things at the shop I pass on Thursdays. So then I have Commodity Velvet on one wrist, and Commodity Gold on the other. I like both. Still deciding if I like them enough to buy in future, though.

Une Rose Chypree is divine. It's probably the rose scent that convinces me that I can actually like rose scents in certain circumstances.

SOTD Chanel 19. Last day of term tomorrow!

alonerinlona · 28/03/2019 21:59

So although I'm away and theoretically shouldn't be shopping (Grin)
I had a wander round a perfume hall today and found this!
It's Parma violets bottled but it fades (very quickly) to a soft talcum powdery smell. Lovely. Shame I spent a small fortune online last night Grin

cantbelievemyeyes · 28/03/2019 22:08

Ah I nearly bought a little bottle of that last week aloner, but went for their Figue one instead. Really nice but yes, very short lived!

I've given up on the Philosykos alternative hunt and just ordered the EDP from Diptyque direct. Quite chuffed though as also got 2 mini candles in their new scents and three samples for free, yay!

CountFosco · 28/03/2019 22:48

Cant I can send you a sample of Bois Naufrage if you like, send me a PM. Got a bottle for Christmas from DH and absolutely adore it and happy to share the love. A cheap figgy option is the H&M one but I can't remember the name.

I now need to try Debaser because Pixies obviously.

MotherOfDragonite · 29/03/2019 07:56

SOTD is 4160 Centrepiece. Thank you for the recommendations on here! It was worth a blind buy, it does actually suit me, and I really really like it.

I have got a really challenging weekend ahead with lots of coursework to submit two weeks earlier than I had realised it was due :-( and no childcare. Not sure how I will do it!

67chevvyimpala · 29/03/2019 08:02

I'm off out to town.

I might have a sniff or two :)
