New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

Which ones did you choose, MrsMoggs? I wore the Tauer Le Maroc Pour Elle today. It is a spicy sweet resinous rose. I enjoyed wearing it but it’s not singing to me like the others. I hope your train has now arrived!

67 sorry you’re ill. 💐. I find little dabs of oil, such as from the PP roll-ons, are most comforting when I’m not well.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/03/2019 20:59

SOTD Byredo Bibliotheque. Poorly fistbump, chevvy, I feel completely disgusting. I go from streaming, shivering, and sore throat, to choked and sinus pain, then back to the start. Back at streaming today. I got those bee pollen things at lunchtime, and am hoping for a miracle.

Poor you judy

I've never had laryngitis before and the throat pain is bad :( my throat is red raw :(

My neck is also swollen.

I feel ghastly.

(Moan, moan, moan....)

67chevvyimpala · 11/03/2019 21:21

I've used a pulse point "this works" thing for bedtime.

MotherOfDragonite · 11/03/2019 21:56

Hope you feel better soon, Judy!

Thanks soooo much everyone for the suggestions. It's kind of a pity I don't have more than two wrists to try this stuff on, as it's going to take a while! Today I went in to a shop that sells Diptyque and tried Do Son EDP and the Eau Des Sens EDT. Both were awful on me (confirmed by the 5 year old, who told me over supper later that the wrist with Eau Des Sens sprayed on it smelled like a dog had weed on me! the worst thing was that it was true! Grin It smelled gorgeous before I sprayed it on my skin, so I think it's my skin chemistry...)

The Do Son was nicer but still not 'me'. Kind of more like a florist's shop in a sort of leafy, humid, slightly unappealing way. Again, it smelled lush before I put it on.... WTF am I even looking for? I have no idea. I have already gone on a monoi oil binge and ordered loads (8 bottles) of Yves Rocher's Monoi de Tahiti -- a body oil rather than a fragrance, but supposedly a dupe for my beloved Monyette de Paris. It's ok, but it isn't a dupe for it on my ridiculous skin.

Teta and Calm, thank you soooo much for your suggestions, which will be next on my list to check out, in the order that I spot them in shops I pass!

I do love the MH Hidden one that I'm wearing a lot at work, but I feel like it's better for daytimes and the office, and not my "signature scent" that will make my favourite people think of me.

Lotsofpots · 12/03/2019 09:17

judy and chevvy I really hope you feel better soon. This winter has been awful for the health of scent lovers (and their offspring).

I went to TKMaxx yesterday and they had nothing good. V disappointing as I was in the mood for treating myself.

Am finding this weather a bit meh for inspiring perfume choices. Not cold enough for my deep winters, too wet for spring choices.

Want to order timeless and the AT discovery set but forcing myself to wait until I have £.

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 09:20

I'm wearing my beloved pp by the fireplace.

I never realised how awful laryngitis made you feel!

I just thought it meant you lost your voice.

Ugh.

Georgianfairy · 12/03/2019 10:22

I've joined the ill offspring club - DD woke up at 10pm ish with awful croup and was really struggling to breathe so we had a trip to A&E last night (she's fine now after steroids). Got home at 2am so am a little tired today! In AT Phi for comfort.

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 10:36

Oh no! Poor dd :(

I thought ds2s was croup. His turned out to be flu though.

Georgianfairy · 12/03/2019 14:56

Oh no, I will keep a close eye on her then. She's definitely got a virus of some kind, but she doesn't seem ill enough for flu at the moment, thankfully! How is ds2 doing now?

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 15:12

He's back at school but not 100%.

Ditto ds1.

Horrid horrid viruses.

MotherOfDragonite · 12/03/2019 15:26

Hope all the kids perk up soon! No viruses here, but my eldest DD (5) has had a stomach ache for almost six months now. Finally got the GP to refer her to see a paediatrician after almost pleading. Now waiting for that. I'd love to see her feeling better again.

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 15:28

Oh mother I feel for you (and dd)

Ds2 had abdominal migraines which are the pits.

MotherOfDragonite · 12/03/2019 15:32

chevvy, do you mind my asking what they are like? Are they constant or happen occasionally? Somebody mentioned them to me but I don't think it's what DD has because she has a constant ache.

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 15:55

I think it varies tbh.

Google "functional abdominal pain in children" and see if it fits.

Ds2 was sent to hospital by gp with suspected appendicitis so he had a scan and bloods and that was the dx in the end.

Jayne05 · 12/03/2019 18:20

Hi ladies, hope you don’t mind me posting but I’ve been searching for what seems like forever for the perfect, long lasting, inexpensive gourmand fragrance. My fave is V&R flowerbomb and now flowerbomb nectar but I just can’t afford them! I’ve got Britney fantasy and private show, Katy Perry mad love, aquolina pink sugar and simply pink tbh the list of what I’ve tried is fairly long, I like them but I can’t find one with longevity. Tried perfume parlour as well but not found a long lasting dupe. I love Prada Candy and that sort of almost cloying sweet smell if that makes sense but nothing lasts 😩. Am I looking for something that just doesn’t exist?? Sorry that was very long, but I love my sweet sweet smells. So, in short, any recs 😂, thank you x

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 18:31

Oh you need missb!!

She has a blog : iscentyouaday and had a question on this exact thing!

Argh.

I'm rubbish at links but I'll try and find it.

Jayne05 · 12/03/2019 18:55

Oh thank you so much! You’re a star, will be trying those 😀 xx

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 18:59

Oh did it work?

Marvellous.

Do follow the blog. Its great:)

Jayne05 · 12/03/2019 19:02

I will follow, I read most of the perfume threads and go on Fragrantica a fair bit but feel a bit thick in comparison to everyone else’s knowledge lol! I’m slowly educating myself...

67chevvyimpala · 12/03/2019 19:13

Oh I'm a real amateur compared to some on here :)

But we are very friendly :)

Jayne05 · 12/03/2019 19:14

I know what you mean, I will start posting more. Questions though I’m sure! Thank you again

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/03/2019 20:51

SOTD FM HIver, for Storm Gareth.

Hope poorly people are improving. I am so glad I am off tomorrow. My plan is a long lie, a long bath, and pyjamas all day.
