Chocolate of some form is absolutely essential when looking after sick children. Yum to croissants with Nutella.I’m tempted but it involves a 25 minute drive to get Gluten free croissants for me here. Have several packs of Cinammon & raisin bagels though.
I have sandpaper at the back of my throat today. This meant all night coughing and several uses of my inhaler of which I only have one. Because the bloody gp when I requested 3 decided to only give me one😡. No Malone Nutmeg & ginger is my Sotd.

That’s very kind of you to offer Chevvy. I’ve just been to the gp and he prescribed two more luckily. I can recommend the new strepsils with some anaesthetic in for a sore throat. Numbed my lips too!

I like difflam spray. Pricey but very good.

Difflam very good. I also recommend Tyrozets lozenges (over the counter) which help zap bugs and numb.

Have looked up Jean-Claude Ellena, 67, and he is also the perfumer behind two favourites of mine, In Love Again and Un Jardin Sur Le Nil! He also designed Terre d’Hermes ( Kalaifornia posted about this earlier).

Oh Aubergines that's a good selection in TKMaxx. I'd have bought the Silver Iris I think. Last time I was in there was a bottle of Mitsouko but PEACH so I didn't. But probably worth some regular trips for a while if they are dripping out Guerlains.

SotD The Soft Lawn. All linden blossom and oak moss. Reminds me of Mrs Gloss Outdoors (also linden blossom and oakmoss) but not as sweet and less sillage (which considering Outdoors is a EdT is surprising).

SOTD Miller Harris Rose Silence.

SotD was the exhilarating Z-14 . Cinnamon, citrus, aromatic green and woody notes. Clean and fresh and complex and deep, all at once.

SotE is a trip even further back in time, Via Lanvin. (Another, apparently unloved, oldie going cheaply on ebay). It's quietly a really wonderful bit of old school perfumery. Starts with beautifully balanced green and yellow floral notes, joined by hints of violet. (The distinctiveness of each of these is really marvelous). Turns into a powdery, musky soft amber/sandalwood. Beautiful at every stage in a pretty and understated sort of way.

Always surprised that JCE produced something as rich as L'Ed'A after all those watery ethereal things for Hermes in the noughties.

PS. Read a great LT line earlier on Habanita - he describes it as the gorgeous hypothetical child of Arthur Miller and Marilyn Monroe.

I'm trying to avoid this thread as I'm now officially not earning for the remains of mat leave, and the temptation is killing me. The plus side is that I'm in a lovely smelling rut where I just want to wear sexiest scent every day.

chevvy everyone at work thinks I'm mental for having Nutella with croissants but it's an amazing combo. So much better than a pain au choc.
Also I really hope you fight off the lurgy. It's a killer, and the last think you need with a poorly boy.
