Previous thread

And I shouldn't have to say this anymore but will do so for any newbies - let's keep our critiquing to the clothes and not the women wearing them.

There is no need for this PR flower stunt

She is pregnant with her first child and is doing what many US expecting mother do, have a baby shower . Enjoy a weekend with her friends . the cost , or who organised it is irrelevant.

For me it all seems like the only purpose of NYC as a venue is maximum exposure. It’s like the biggest free publicity for her stylist friend and her other actress friend Abigail and Serena and Clooney are picking up the tab Grin

Rhubarbisevil · 22/02/2019 21:18

OK WE GET THE POINT SHUT UP ABOUT THE BLOODY BABY SHOWER OR START YOUR OWN THREAD ABOUT IT ARGH 😤

Paradyning · 22/02/2019 21:22

I agree!! Can someone pm me when we start talking shite about clothes and tiaras again please.

PinguDance · 22/02/2019 21:26

Those are incredibly blue sapphires aren’t they in that tiara and earrings aren’t they - make the ones in my mum’s engagement ring look pretty pale in comparison! Love the cape too - beautiful colour. It’s also the sort of outfit you could literally only wear as royalty which I appreciate 👌🏻

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2019 21:27

Not exactly about clothes, but I was meandering around YouTube last night looking for royal fashion and came across this.

We were all young once. Smile

PollyEthel · 22/02/2019 21:32

Queen Beatrice did wear the tiara with sapphires, it's just her hair is so bouffanty that the sapphires were hidden.

Notmyrealname855 · 22/02/2019 21:33

Oh hello Max! She always looks great, always quite a strong look!

(Still, desperately trying to keep the chat to fashion)

Max is interesting as she always goes for bold looks but they seem true to her, they always work. Dare say she’s my favourite royal Star

PollyEthel · 22/02/2019 21:33

Beatrix!

BartonHollow · 22/02/2019 21:33

This is the Royal STYLE and GOSSIP thread

If you want a thread where you can criticise and sneer at HRH Duchess Of Sussex's every cough and fart then feel free to begin one elsewhere

Except for the fact that your thread will most likely get pulled because it will attract the :

I'm REALLY not a racist BUT crowd and go steadily downhill from there

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2019 21:34

Ok, I think everything that needed to be said about the baby shower has been said so can we move on? The Morocco trip starts tomorrow so plenty of scope for clothes chat!

Oh you are quite right @PollyEthel, my bad!
orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/09/tiara-thursday-mellerio-sapphire-tiara.html?m=1

Notmyrealname855 · 22/02/2019 21:38

Is that even a tiara!? It’s like a diamond hat!

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2019 21:41

Max's inauguration attire was beautiful. I have watched that ceremony several times. My favorite part is when they sing the national anthem. The Netherlands has the best national anthem. And unlike the UK's, the monarch can sing it, too, since it's not about saving him. And the look on Max's face while they are singing is so touching. She is full of emotion and it all shows.

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/02/2019 21:41

Bloody nora, those sapphires are glorious. This thread has not only introduced me to Max, but made a convert of me. She looks so fabulous, always.

MotherofPearl · 22/02/2019 21:47

Max looks resplendent and that tiara is just jaw-dropping!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2019 21:47

Such a shame Order of Splendour is no longer updated :(

Rhubarbisevil · 22/02/2019 21:57

And breathes... normality has been retired. Poor Charles, so out of his comfort zone! And my word, the blue!

hopeishere · 22/02/2019 22:11

That tiara is amazing. It's like she has fun with everything. You can imagine her going into the vault saying "I'm wearing it all"!!!

Notmyrealname855 · 22/02/2019 22:15

Gaaaaaawd I would go to the vault, say “deck me up”, and wear my weight in diamonds Grin I’d balance tiaras on my toes, then roll around in emeralds

peridito · 22/02/2019 22:23

Does anyone know why Max is wearing the sash one way in her husband's inauguration photo and the other way at the Danish state banquet ?

is there a correct way ie over the right sholder ? Or doesn't it matter ?

PollyEthel · 22/02/2019 22:53

I think it is sash specific. For Wax's inauguration, she will have been wearing a Dutch sash with its own rules. For the Danish visit, she will (I'm fairly sure) have been wearing a Danish sash with different rules specific to it.

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2019 22:56

Each order has a protocol for wearing the sash, including which shoulder, so I assume she is wearing different orders at the two occasions.

SenecaFalls · 22/02/2019 22:58

Order as in Order of the Garter, for example.

PollyEthel · 22/02/2019 23:06

Just checked - the blue and orange sash from the inauguration is the Order of Netherlands Lion. The pale blue sash from the state visit to Denmark is the Order of the Elephant, a Danish order.

LaurenOrdering · 23/02/2019 01:31

This photo of Diana that CurlyWurlyTwirly posted earlier, I can really see a facial resemblance between Meghan & Diana. Chin, cheeks, eyes & nearly similar noses. They always say you go for familiar looks e.g. marry someone who looks like your family. Meghan & Harry have the same shaped noses & chins.
Also I can see a bit of Diana & the Queen Mum in Kate.
