There were paragraphs in that, btw!

dontcallmelen · 22/02/2019 07:59

never I have a mental image of you now, furiously riding the exercise bike whilst simultaneously shopping😂

ilovecherries · 22/02/2019 10:14

I had two dresses arrive today, but they are both going back. One was the Susanna midi dress. It’s actually lovely on, flattering fit, but it’s a very fine tee shirt material and I suspect the seams might twist terribly in the wash. It’s also not a true red, but quite a warm, orange based colour so it doesn’t really suit me. I may revisit it later in the season when I could put it straight on and wear it, but don’t love it enough to have it in the wardrobe for another three months. If they do it in blue or navy I would also be tempted.

The other was the black and white striped shirt dress. It pissed me off as soon as I put it on as it covered my underwear in grey fluff, but it's not sitting well. A 12 was surprisingly tight on my boobs but the skirt bit was baggy, and the waist was too short - meaning the drawstring rode up to underneath my boobs and made me look pregnant.

Laska2Meryls · 22/02/2019 17:08

Toast Dress arrive and went straight back in the next post!! so disappointing. The colour was nothing like the picture a sort of sludgy brown German mustard colour. Also with my boobs it just looked terrible,I think it would work if you were very tall willowy and flat chested ( like the models) . the mustard Saltwaters were nice , but the colour did nothing for my (admittedly blue/white at this time of year ) feet and legs..
The cinnamon sleeveless top whilst nice was a pale brick colour at best and not that special fro the price ..Its the same colour as the jumpsuit you posted Not so if you did go for it expect it to be much paler than it looks .. A=ll in all terribly disappointing.

Boiler was £££ but is now working beautifully and we have hot water

I have sent the olive saltwaters back and kept the rose gold ..

I am so underwhelmed with the new Hush stuff at the moment and now Toast also....(ah well, maybe when they get more summer stuff in I shall be more inspired ) ..

neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 17:14

Me too @Laska. I think that's why I bought an exercise bike instead!!!

Laska2Meryls · 22/02/2019 17:22

never Just make sure you use it!! ,mine became a great place for dumping coats (it was in the hall) , and the rowing machine was brilliant for hanging sheets on ! (they both were sold)...

NotAnActualSheep · 22/02/2019 18:22

Oh no laska - that has actually made me sad Sad. What a shame. I thought the dress would make you look great... At least you've got the rose gold sandals though. There does seem to be an issue with showing colours on the toast website - there was another dress I was looking at in the sale that looked a sort of pinky red, and all the reviews were saying it was basically brown. Very odd - no other companies see to have the problem to such an extent. I can only assume they've got crazy powerful lights for doing the photos that change the colour too. (I'm holding off on the jumpsuit for now until it's clearer what the weather is doing - or I win the lottery).

And shame about cherries dresses too. I bet the t-shirt one is the same kind of material that they used for the green tie one last season. The style was OK but it showed every lump and bump as it was so flimsy. yy to it likely washing badly in that case. (I think that was the one soups was ordering too?). Bum.

Haha @ never and the exercise bike - that is serious shopping Grin. Well done and good luck!

justilou - I do like the idea of those trousers - I love the 70's style. However, I'm not 100% sure on the length. I kind of think they should be either covering-the-foot-and-soaking-up-any-moisture-on-the-ground kind of long, or a "proper" crop - sort of like these on the model. (I got those last year and had to get them shortened as on me they were just above the foot and IMO they just looked wrong). However, I am never knowingly on the pulse of fashion and it may well be that this is this year's (or possibly last year's - who knows) length. But definitely a good move away from skinnies, which I am beginning to dislike... Bet you're really looking forward to moving into jumpers too, after your heatwave.... Has that cooled down at all yet?

Well yes, that is very possible ha ha… I remember my mum buying these things [ various contraptions over the years ] Some didn't even make it out the box like mine atm

However, I will get my dh to set it up as I am crap with things like this. Hopeless at reading instructions. I already looked at them and sighed.

On the trousers @Justilou, when I was in Oslo there were so many people wearing cropped flares. I thought they looked kind of funky. I quite like them but they looked awful on me when I ordered a pair. I am pair shaped and the crop was not right on me. Made me look wide!!!! I suppose its trial and error. You will only know if you try them on and your body shape, the cut will be the deciding factors. The hush ones I tried on were hideous but jersey ones look okay.

Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 18:45

@justilou1 I bought a pair of cropped flare jeans last summer. Totally out of my comfort zone but actually I love them. Strictly only for summer for me though.. I wasn't so keen on them with trainers (not very flattering with my thick ankles) but I liked them with flip flops and sandals. These are mine.

Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 18:46

I was going to order the raglan and the white pumps today but decided to hold off. Think I'm getting excited by this summery weather and knowing my luck it'll start snowing again next week.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 18:48

They are really nice on you but I think they are more wide leg than flare. They type I mean are the ones that are neater on the leg and flare out. I will see if I can find a picture.

Oh and just was on the next website and how odd is this? Florence and Fred and online in next!!! Weird. @Ella, our star jumper is there. [ The camel leopard one]

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 18:56

Oh yes I see what you mean, mine are more a wide leg all the way up. As a teenager in the 90's we all used to wear black flared trousers to school.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 18:56

They also have This

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 18:57

Really? How strange! But good as it's been quite frustrating not being able to buy it online. They did some lovely dresses last summer and I could never get my hands on one in store.

Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 18:57

That's very Hush in its style isn't it?

neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 19:00

They may do Hush at one point. I think that will be the end. Everyone will have hush outfits!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 19:00

It is very hush!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 22/02/2019 19:02

Next also do white stuff. I think that is also a new addition to their brands. As are all saints.

Ellapaella · 22/02/2019 19:48

And Boden!
Yes count down to them doing Hush....

dontcallmelen · 22/02/2019 19:55

Laska what a shame about the toast dress, I was convinced it would look fab on you, rose gold sandals are lovely though & yipee you have hot water shame about the £££.
Cherries your haul definitely sounds a meh especially with flimsy fabric for the price.
Just I think the key with though sort of trousers, is as Ella says footwear, they have sort of passed me by as I’m way to short for them to look stylish on me, but on anyone else they can look really good.

justilou1 · 22/02/2019 23:49

Thanks @Sheep- they’d never be cropped on me! I’m petite and SHORT! (5ft1!) I was keen on wearing them with boots but they are probably a bit breezy, aren’t they? I think yours look awesome, @Ella! I think I had the others taken up, they’d look like bootcut jeans (Worst shape ever for me!) and the flare would be in the wrong spot. It’s far too hot here for jeans in the summer. @melen - I think you’re right about trying them. Unfortunately our postage is so damn expensive!!! I have found these at Zara too... as they are straight up and down, I feel cropping them is less risky to the shape. To answe your question about the weather, it has been well over 30’C for over two months in a row with no sign of our traditional wet season. The place is like a desert. We haven’t seen any frogs, and many of the normal bugs and critters that should be hanging around our garden for years. The orange twit in the White House is still insisting that there is no such thing as climate change. Sigh!
