Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

The princely sum of £130 @Scandaloso. I guess the ladies who lunch of Chelsea discard their handbags on a yearly basis! The handbag spa will probably cost another £100-150 but it's still a bargain.

"How's your Birmingham?"
"Very distressed. Your Mulberry?"
"A bit anxious actually"

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:58

Birkin, not Birmingham!!

Elspeth I can't see what's wrong with referring to yoga practice - that's what it's called!!! I'm a very ordinary non-royal and when I do yoga it's called my yoga practice (not session).

There was a piece in the paper today about the bananas. One of the women said how nice it felt that Meghan had taken time out of her day to sit down and write out a message for her. Can you imagine, everyone thinks you are scum but a duchess sits down and writes you a note on your banana? Yes, very Californian and a bit cringy but I bet those women were absolutely thrilled!

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/02/2019 19:02

I think the messages on the bananas showed how Meghan saw the worth of the person behind the food parcel.

Scandaloso · 02/02/2019 19:03

Oh what a lovely find! I hope the two of you have a long and happy relationship.

kooshbin · 02/02/2019 19:05

There's a documentary tonight on channel 5 called "Secrets of the Royal Servants". The blurb says "The Royal Family have always projected an immaculate image, but in this entertaining hour, the Royal Servants reveal what goes on behind closed doors."

I don't think it's a new documentary (just new to C5), and I'm not sure what they mean by "entertaining", but it would be nice if we got a glimpse of wardrobe and jewellery collections.

Clionba · 02/02/2019 19:06

I agree with pp above about the positive banana messages. (now there's an odd sentence!)
You lot and your designer handbags! It reminds me of a patient recently, I offered her some treatment which she thought was pricey. I said to her "it'll only be the same price as your x handbag" to which she replied "but this handbag gives me pleasure!". She looked outraged!

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 19:12

My handbags give me a great deal of pleasure Grin. But they are a dirty secret on here Wink

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/02/2019 19:26

Currently watching a programme about the Duke of Windsor & spying on ch4.
Thx for heads up on channel 5.
There’s a replay of the documentary about the week Diana died afterwards.
And then «Paul Burrell in therapy»

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 19:29

So I reckon something like this for Meghan with some serious jewels 'loaned' from the Queen.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/02/2019 19:33

@mrscampbellblack

I think that dress is a little simple for anything more than the simple jewellery Meghan wears.
I do like the Fold tailoring although it looks like city / solicitor wear.

SenecaFalls · 02/02/2019 19:35

@CurlyWurlyTwirly

I did not forget you request about the biographies. Here are some of them in no particular order and with no comments about how good or not they are because in many cases, I can't remember. There are some others, too, that I'll add if and when I can track them down.

Scandaloso · 02/02/2019 19:36

How could anyone possibly be seduced by a man who sounded like the Duke of Windsor. Eurgh. Total knicker tightener.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 19:39

I've read that he didn't actually do much seducing. Apparently he liked to be mothered/nannied and wasn't really interested in sex. In the other hand, a friend claims his illegitimate lived in her home town so he must've done it at one point or another!

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 19:40

Curly - if I were Meghan I would wear it with statement earrings and the cartier bracelet she wore on her wedding day.

LaurenOrdering · 02/02/2019 19:49

@mrscampbellblackreturns I remember that thread. I think the OP had either saved up for years or come into a windfall or something. A Birkin had been her fantasy for years. The thread became bonkers with the poor OP being accused of being flash, vulgar, rubbing people's noses in it etc by some posters.
And the suggestion that the OP would get more value/love/excitement for her money by buying a bench Grin

LaurenOrdering · 02/02/2019 19:50

@SenecaFalls thanks for the book recommendations. Kindle here I come!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/02/2019 19:53

Fantastic @senecafalls,
Thank you so much. I have copied and pasted and emailed to myself!

Clionba · 02/02/2019 19:53

Ahh, that's what the bench means! I wondered!

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 19:53

The book about the Romanov girls is called Four Sisters in the U.K., just in case you can't find it.

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/02/2019 19:59

Yes that was a fabulous bracelet, but I think it would need a long gown.
But definitely simple to,set it off.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 20:01

I would wear that bracelet with jeans personally Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 02/02/2019 20:01

@queen
Just a thought, when you start the new thread, can you post @senecafalls list in the OP, then it won’t get missed.
