Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

but queen if only she would just stop for a moment and just think properly before taking any actions no one would say anything bad about her.

No, it doesn't work like that. Someone will always find fault with something. She'll still be wearing the "wrong" nail polish or won't have blended her foundation properly, or used too much blusher, or she should take more risks with her clothes, or wear less eyeliner, or wear more interesting shoes, or more jewellery, or less jewellery, or be happier to see the photographers, or stop looking at the photographers because it's attention seeking...

Yes, she's giving away some easy targets at the moment, but someone will always find fault.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 02/02/2019 17:44

Yea look at the shit she gets for putting her hand on her pregnant belly. There was a post on here criticising her gait this week!

Perhaps if they just froze her like a mannequin, like that Kim Catrall film, she would be fine.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 17:46

Some of the comments on the DM article were ridiculous - it's like people still think sex workers should be forced to wear sackcloth and ashes and forced to do a march of shame! I don't think Meghan was motivated by anything other than concern for the women who'd be receiving the packages but I suppose "empowering messages" are really a very british thing to do.

Well considering she's only been in the Royal Family a short time, Meghan is doing a great job (her enthusiasm is her strength but also her weakness).
However she does need a a kick ass/take no prisoners but also loyal & kind Advisor. Someone like Mary Poppins who will also sit on Meghan if she doesn't listen.

ElspethFlashman · 02/02/2019 18:03

Shes very very Californian, bless her.

I read that yesterday or whenever a woman in the crowd told her she did yoga too and M said "it's SO important, I would love a practice right now". That's what they call a session. I remember some yoga teacher telling me solemnly I had "good practice" . I cringed a bit. You don't need a special word for it! It's just a bleedin' stretch! I mean it's totally harmless, of course. But I actually asked him what he meant, I didn't know!

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:05

Empowering messages aren't a very british thing I meant! As @ElspethFlashman says, it's very west coast USA.

I think it is all the Queen's fault. She needs to share out the jewellery a bit then Meghan could wear that with a zara frock and everyone would be happy.

Actually not Zara but a nice British frock Wink

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 18:20

I really wish Kate and Meghan had better handbags. I love bags and am yet to see them with any that I would covet. If I were Meghan I would be buying Hermes rather than Oscar de la Renta coats - better long term 'investment'.

But imagine how that would go down on here, I mean she could have bought a bench Wink [not sure if anyone remembers that thread]

isitspringyet · 02/02/2019 18:26

Although DOS spending is a little extravagant I find the amount at odds with her humanitarian ethos.. seems she’s been given unlimited finances and I hoped she’d have more of a social conscience regarding choices..

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:27

I quite liked the green bag Kate had in Dundee the other day but I'd prefer a bigger version as it looked tiny!

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 02/02/2019 18:30

mrscb Kate has a Chanel 2.55. I think its burgundy? She doesn't use it much.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:32

@mrscampbellblackreturns I'm trying to think of a British high street brand that would suit Meghan and Reiss is the only one that comes to mind. I don't think LK Bennett is quite her style and she's hardly going to step out in Dotty P's best!

OP posts:
mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 18:36

I have seen Kate with a small red chanel. Meghan would look great with a constance.

I wonder about something like thefold for Meghan. Maybe a bit too officey though. Agree Reiss would be good but Kate has conrnered that one and can only imagine the commentary if Meghan wore it.

I think Meghan looks her best in casual cloths - the outfit she wore to the lunch with her press person was my fave but that's because it is most similar to my style.

queenofarles · 02/02/2019 18:36

Apart from CP Mary I haven't seen any royal wearing Hermes bags or clothes.
I love Hermes bags . they are the oldest items in my wardrobe. True investment pieces.lucky to have bought them way before the prices went up.

Yeah, a $20,000 Birkin would really silence the critics. Smile

I am a handbag person. I really dislike little clutches in the day time. They scream I-have-someone-to-carry-my-stuff-for-me. Of course they do have someone, but a day time bag needs to be big enough for more than a lipstick.

I really liked the green DeMellier Meghan carried a few weeks ago.

queenofarles · 02/02/2019 18:40

Meghan would look great with a constance or a Lindy 26 in gold.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:41

@mrscampbellblackreturns Funny you mention The Fold, as I received one of their catalogs the other day and thought the clothes were similar to things both duchesses have worn in the past.

OP posts:
SenecaFalls · 02/02/2019 18:43

I love Hermes bags.

So do I. A Kelly would be the holy grail of bags for me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:45

Speaking of handbags, I'm very proud of my purchase yesterday - a burgundy Prada bag from a charity shop on the Kings Road. It's in pretty good condition and will look even better once I send it to the handbag spa to be refurbished!

OP posts:
mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 18:46

Well I know everyone would hate on her if she carried a Birkin but hey Wink Hence my reference to the infamous bag v bench thread on here a few years back - that was a corker

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 18:47

I was in Hermes last year and a lady came in with a very distressed looking bag which they were going to send off to get refurbished. I didn't realise they offered that as a service.

I hope the handbag spa works well Queen! I also love the idea of a handbag spa

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2019 18:47

Handbag threads on here can get very strange fast!

Grin

I'm picturing an over emotional Birkin being sent to the handbag version of a Swiss sanitorium.

Scandaloso · 02/02/2019 18:52

@QueenOfTheAndals, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you?

mrscampbellblackreturns · 02/02/2019 18:53

Grin Scandal.

I do find the service in Hermes quite distressing myself Wink
