Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

Any parents of children who were there need to take a look at themselves before ‘spitting teeth’. They would have signed permission slips. I’m sure the RF did not approach the nursery and plead for them to stand around!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/02/2019 17:01

Interesting observation from Tom and Lorenzo US based fashion commentators.

Having covered her fairly extensively for a while now, it’s becoming obvious that Meghan and her style team get an idea in their heads and simply repeat it over and over for a period before moving onto something else. For a while, it was all minimalist taupe dresses, day after day. Right now, she appears to be really excited about sheer skirts under black coats in the middle of the day. For someone whose entire career consists of public appearances, deliberately wearing similar looks from day to day is a really weird thing to do.

Anyway, the coat is nice, the boots are pretty fab and wearing a sheer skirt over them on a cold winter day is yet another item on the list of somewhat odd style choices she tends to make.

Redglitter · 01/02/2019 17:04

Meghan looks so much nicer with her hair down. Its so much more flattering

Paradyning · 01/02/2019 17:05

I really like the boots from what we can see under her dress. I don't really like the back buckles though when you see them fill length on the designers website. I don't like the rest of the outfit. Why can't she just wear normal maternity wear.

PineapplePower · 01/02/2019 17:06

The eight trillion CDAN blind items about Meghan are almost certainly largely if not all fake

CDAN has been spot on with a lot of blind items, like the Weinstein scandal, Epstein’s island, and Kevin Spacey. Also, Michael Jackson.

That said, I absolutely do not think she’s a yachter in the CDAN sense, but I do think there’s some shady business going on with those clothes (but only because they are so poorly fitted ...)

lisbethsw · 01/02/2019 17:19

I like this thread being just about clothes ...but...

the interesting thing about royals is they’re supposed to dress very particularly for each occasion. And the events they go to are really mixed - it isn’t about looking flashy, it’s about imagination and versatility. Eg costume jewellery at a ball, and using tailors to make high st look exceptional (hello laetizia in Zara). It’s a great fashion test, and they can have fun with it. Be tongue in cheek, they can surprise us, or be quietly elegant.

Just wearing expensive stuff - down to the small bags, shoes etc, every single thing, is boring. Meghan is flatlining on luxury, you know what you’re going to get each time - expense.

Wearing Oscar De La Renta while most of us are struggling, to a day event, is at best unimaginative and at worst a bit offensive

A bit late with this pic of Charles I saw recently. I thought it was Harry.

Shame on the nursery taking them out to wait in the cold, it was totally unnecessary to have them waiting around in the snow.

slipslidingaway4 · 01/02/2019 17:32

I think the issue with Meghan's spending may be a cultural/class thing again. As am American actress, wearing designer gear and dressing up, being photographed in expensive clothes is what is expected.
I still don't think she has realised she's not on the red carpet, she isn't at the Oscars, she's supposed to be a hard working Royal now, not at a celebrity event. It isn't playing well at all.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/02/2019 17:34

@user1457017537 The nursery wouldn't have taken them if they didn't have permission. And I'm sure they would've checked with the parents this morning.

Camilla's clothes are also VERY expensive and Prince Charles happily picks up the tab. it is my understanding that PC is partial to enjoying every conceivable luxury and I imagine he is more than happy to pick up the tab for Camilla and Meghan.
Whilst she looks like a true Princess in the ODR black and white evening dress, I think she looks a mess in todays outfit, a PP used the word dumpy, I agree the outfit is extremely unflattering, when she sees the photographs she will never want to wear it again. Coat and boots are fab.

YahBasic · 01/02/2019 17:38

The nursery is literally over the road, door to door it’s probably 20m.

I’m sure kids would have been playing out in the snow anyway today and would have been taken inside if they complained they were cold.

It’s a non issue.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/02/2019 17:39

It's a shame Meghan can't see that her spending is detracting from the work she wants to do as a royal. She's certainly not been work shy and has been out on royal business since the day after her engagement was announced.

To be honest while the money rankles a bit of course, it's not thT she is splashing the cash so much as spending all that money on things that don't fit or suit her! A much better use of that money is in getting a stylist and a seemstress in. She likes fashion and that's great for us anyway but expensive doesn't mean it will look good!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/02/2019 17:47

The thing about Camilla is even if her clothes are expensive, ie couture; For a start, they are British, she always looks immaculate, she rewears her clothes and knows what suits her.

With Meghan, she is really hit and miss about what she wears. All very well saying that looked like shit I’m not wearing that again with two and a half thousand pound dresses.

Scandaloso · 01/02/2019 17:49

Maybe she keeps the tags on them and returns to them the shop afterwards.

'I tried it on but never wore it. Nope, that's categorically not a picture of me in the Daily Mail in a dress that looks just like this'.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/02/2019 18:02

Here’s a few we won’t be seeing again.
Safiyaa outfit; skirt dragging in a puddle, top like a swimsuit
Brock collection dress; probably the most unflattering dress she’s worn
The shiny pompom dress ( I don’t know if it was that expensive)

But for someone who likes to wear ethical clothes; throwaway designer fashion is missing the point.

I would love to know what HMQ thinks about the dresses. She will have an opinion.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/02/2019 18:11

I think once Meghan is installed at Frogmore and the Queen is at Windsor, I hope the Queen will invite Meghan over for tea regularly to mentor her.
She did the same with Sophie, when they lived at BP, although I think there was genuine affection and they liked spending time together.
I think it was said that Kate was guided a lot by Camilla.
I think it was expected that Kate would guide Meghan, but for whatever reason that has not worked out.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 01/02/2019 18:11

The more I see of today's dress, the more I like it actually.

I'm also aghast at the general cost of her wardrobe but I do think it's a Hollywood/royalty culture clash thing. She's doing what you would do in Hollywood I presume, and no one would bat an eyelid. Why she isn't being advised properly, or why she's ignoring that advice, is the real issue imo.

Although she may well even out cost wise with Kate and Camilla, Meghan's spending seems to much more conspicuous, and that's what needs to change.

Paradyning · 01/02/2019 18:12

Aahhh my eyes. That pink Pom Pom dress again!

Never mind the bananas, that's a charity that does some really good work for a cause that isn't particularly fashionable. Good on H&M for visiting it.

Some pap pics of Kate all in red. Red shoes, red earrings, red maxi dress.
She just has no natural style.
