Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

All the times Kate has reworn her outfits

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 31/01/2019 06:29

Nice pics, thanks curly.

Struck me how good DoC looks in white, looking through those. Also that I nearly always prefer her hair up.

itswinetime · 31/01/2019 06:37

Those videos unfortunately seemed to be an annual event. They all seem like totally overwhelming events to 2 young boys who often appear to be trying to hide away in them. I agree you can see how their childhood has impacted on their focus as adults.

Nice reminder of Kate's outfits, she definitely has a style and I hadn't really noticed before but she does suit paler brighter colours more.

VanillaSugarr · 31/01/2019 06:46

Blimey, you can see the tension between Diana and Charles in that video. He is doing is best his to keep the atmosphere light and entertaining- then Diana dumps the sicky cloth on him and flounces off without a word. And I’m a Diana fan Shock

WhitherShallIWander · 31/01/2019 07:12

Quite Vanilla

mikado1 · 31/01/2019 07:25

Ah there's something so vulnerable and innocent about William in those baby shoots..seems very wrong now. Totally get his view.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 31/01/2019 07:29

Thanks for that Curly Smile

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/01/2019 09:09

I know hindsight is 20/20 but really, how did anyone think Charles and Diana were a good idea? Two emotionally needy people looking to the other to be their crutch, one of them only 19. I mean it was the 1980s not 1880s! But I guess Diana's family had their eye on the biggest prize of all and HM and the DoE were probably glad to see Charles settle down at last and produce an heir. Though of course that wasn't strictly necessary as there already was an heir!

Gosh those videos are awful. Very sad.

famousfour · 31/01/2019 09:26

Makes you think about how the world has moved on that those videos now look so intrusive for the children.

latedecember1963 · 31/01/2019 09:27

I remember both of those sets of footage with Prince William as a baby and toddler being on TV. At the time I don't remember thinking too much about the "atmosphere". They just seemed like they were allowing the public a glimpse of their life, without giving too much away.
While always being careful to behave "correctly" in public, William and Kate do at least seem as though they genuinely love each other.

We are off to London in February and I'm sowing the seeds of a visit to the Dior exhibition to DH. He's enjoyed watching The Crown from a social history point of view so that's how I'm trying to sell it.

Had a look at the pics of Sarah Chatto et al at the exhibition and in 1 there's a lady called Georgia Metcalf who is carrying the most beautiful handbag. I love the shape, the colour, the motif, just everything about it. 😍

latedecember1963 · 31/01/2019 09:30

I'm sorry, I don't know how to put pictures from a newspaper onto here.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 09:35

Non Royal Duchess Power List from Tatler

desertgirl · 31/01/2019 09:39

Latedecember this one?

Royal style & gossip: who's got the best gownage and crownage?
latedecember1963 · 31/01/2019 09:57

Thank you, Desertgirl, yes that's the one.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/01/2019 09:59

@Curly I didn't realise the Duke of Beaufort had a new wife. Last I heard he was still married to Tracy Ward, sister of Rachel.

I really like a lot of those outfits Kate wears. I think she looks great the more casual she is.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/01/2019 10:07

Yes, Casual Kate definitely looks more at home than Dress Coat Kate. I think she likes mucking around with kids and nature-type visits the most rather than engagements where she has to make an official speech etc. I can't see Meghan liking getting muddy but she is a very good public speaker. I think they both play to their strengths.

I have always assumed Kate has the best thermal underwear money can buy. I just have the heatgen stuff from Marks and even that is life changing. I particularly like to wear the leggings under trousers/jeans as it doesn't seem to have any impact on making me too hot inside, but completely keeps my legs warn when I'm outside. I assume kate has the premium version of what I use and loves them accordingly.

I've actually just bought 80 (I think) denier, thermal tights to wear next time I need to wear a dress to meet a client. I'm extremely excited to try them out and see if they're as effective as the leggings....

LuciaSpain · 31/01/2019 10:12

In fairness she can fairly rock an evening dress too. I love that Missoni dress, I don't get clothes envy much but that's wow.

I like the polka dot dress with the small jacket too, I've something similar and I always feel great in it.

Must look into silk thermals.. :)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 10:19

I think quite a few of us have been looking into silk thermals.
My jeans are freezing!

queenofarles · 31/01/2019 10:23

dontcallmecharlotte oh no! please don't think that Grin , it looks spectacular . The junon dress is probably the most exquisite dress ever created and shouldn't be missed. The bar jacket .The fabulous 1950s suits, and the color red . The music and ambience .So exquisite !

The V&A has lots of pieces from private collectors too displayed. There is a special part dedicated to the English influence on the house of Dior, PM gown, and some of the looks showed at Blenheim castle in the 1950s. it shouldn't be missed, its just as curly mentioned the flow of the building.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 10:25

@queen, I’m not up to date with the Aristos, I remember the Duke of Beaufort as Bunter Worcester and can only ever remember Tracey as a Marchioness. I had no idea they’d had an upgrade and divorced. I think the second marriage was quite secretive according to wikipedia

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/01/2019 10:56

Going to be some serious gownage from Kate Sunday week as she's attending the BAFTAs.

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 11:21

It will be a rewear; I’m sure. Just which one?
Kate is underlined I gotta that she is a traditionalist and not engaging in the latest fashions.

I think Either of these 2 dresses.
I would like her to wear her hair up with a little tiara. ( Diana would!)
