Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

Wetdog that was my second choice - it was a close-run thing but I voted for the red checked Catherine Walker in the end as I thought it was cheery. Really liked the Remembrance Day one too.

I really do need to change my name, it’s not nearly glamorous enough for this thread...

Paradyning · 28/01/2019 18:40

she'll wear a coat dress as it'll be chilly up there!
In tartan. As she's so literal with her work uniform.

I guess it's for security reasons the late announcement. Maybe there's a higher risk at present than when HM went

Iwantdaffodils · 28/01/2019 18:48

Yes, the Black Watch tartan would be very appropriate for the Dundee area.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/01/2019 19:22

Kate has a McQueen black watch tartan coat dress from 2012.
If she’s not doing a walkabout, maybe she can wear it with a polo neck and boots underneath.

I hadn't even thought about the security threat being different- that makes sense..

I do hope there is an ok crowd

Wetdogloveshubert · 28/01/2019 19:26

Ooh Hairy that was my second choice too, the red check was so unashamedly happy!

The security risks must be ridiculously high these days, particularly with Brexit - people with extreme thoughts about that may use the RF to get a message out any way possible. Horrible thought, but anyone in a position of power or visibility is at risk.

I hope the colours are vibrant tomorrow!

CreakyBlinder · 28/01/2019 20:00

Who knew this thread was secretly filled with republican Dundonians!? Grin

Fashion note to Kate: please don't whip out the tartan just because you're in Scotland. It's not bloody Brigadoon!

beanaseireann · 28/01/2019 20:06

Curly
That's a gorgeous pic of Kate.
I love that tartan. Probably me favourite.

frugalkitty · 28/01/2019 20:36

I voted for the green coat worn in Sweden.

Surely one of you up in Scotland could photo bomb the visit tomorrow???? Take a placard to say hi to us on the thread? You'd have to be wearing a Kate headband though, like code, so we know it's you Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/01/2019 21:02

Wax with his eldest. Definitely has mum’s personality!

CreakyBlinder · 28/01/2019 21:42

Sorry @frugalkitty I'll be at work. Also, I fear my staunch republican husband would lock me out if I went and waved a banner about to welcome royals Wink

AhoyDelBoy · 28/01/2019 21:46

Fergie: outfit on point!

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/01/2019 21:51

Ah Fergie! I bet she's good company in small doses though and probably quite a laugh.

Mmmhmmokdear · 28/01/2019 22:07

I love Fergie. She doesn't give a hoot. I saw that pic on insta tonight and thought she looked ace.

CreakyBlinder · 28/01/2019 22:13

Ooh go Fergie!

FogCutter · 28/01/2019 22:15

I clicked that insta link and read that Fergie's going to Herman Ballbreaker's party.

Must put my glasses on 🤦🏼‍♀️

DontCallMeCharlotte · 28/01/2019 22:17

I voted for the Christmas coat - it's so gloriously 1940s, especially with that headband.

Iwantdaffodils · 28/01/2019 22:29

Doubt if the Kate headband has hit Dundee Debenhams yet - pity!

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/01/2019 23:01

@FogCutter I don't know what Mr Ballbreaker does but he appears to know a lot of slebs!

I voted for the green Catherine Walker worn in Sweden.

IdaBWells · 29/01/2019 01:54

I like Leo for M&H’s baby. Queen Victoria had a son called Leopold. Although Leopold of Belguim was one of the most evil men in history and I hope there’s no connection with the British Royals....

For girls I’m stumped. Vivienne?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 04:18

@queen, mr ballbreaker makes biscuits, apparently.
I think the family has been making them for about 400 years, hence the wedge.
Fergie lookedgreat; some serious boobage in that dress. I would wear that, minus the gold embroidery to match the furniture.
I do however suspect she received a fee and expenses to attend.

desertgirl · 29/01/2019 04:42

Ida, he was Queen Victoria ‘s cousin - and Albert’s - his father, Leopold I, was a big influence on the young Vic and acted as matchmaker for her and Albert - he had been married to George IV’s daughter Charlotte (who died young) so had envisaged himself as more or less on the British throne. Sounds like a Lord Mountbatten sort of figure.

Anyway, Evil Leopold was his son by wife no 2.

mathanxiety · 29/01/2019 05:25

I wonder would H&M call a boy John - Prince John was a brother of George VI and the Duke of Windsor, suffered from epilepsy and maybe autism and was sent to live in a cottage on the Sandringham estate, cared for by a governess, until his death at age 13 in 1919.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_John_of_the_United_Kingdom
This is terribly sad.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/01/2019 05:46

Harry’s paternal grandfather was Johnnie Spencer.
H&M don’t need a princely name. Let’s face it, even with Louis there was not a lot of choice ( Albert & Arthur being the other contenders I think)
They could just go “posh”
Hugo, Sébastien, Alexander, etc
