The star jumper I had been wanting for ages and only ordered hoping the S would fit, knowing I was returning the Ryder stripy one.
I’m pleased I did, it’s got a subtle sparkle but not too much for day wear and it’s quite light so it’ll be good in SS too

NotAnActualSheep · 05/02/2019 17:33

I think its just that I type soooooo slowly soy! (and my first post I has to keep going back to remind myself who said what cos my memory is shot to pieces this week!)
I've got the beige scarlett jumper and I really do like it - nice and soft and cosy as you say - but as you know, I'm precisely the opposite shape to you!

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 17:33

And cod you don’t think it emphasises your assets? ‘Tis lovely and soft (doubting myself now..,it’s going back! Hmm)
@melen oo thank you comfy cushions Grin Btw hope you’re feeling better today

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 17:42

Thanks Soy going to try & eat some dinner later, only had toast since Saturday so hopefully that’s a good sign.

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 17:49

Poor you melen I hope you can eat something more substantial than toast...
@not you do cheer me up with your musings. Yes we’re exactly the opposite body shape so I’m always Envy of all the pattern, and neat shapes you can wear on your upper half which I could never ever get away with. Hope work is manageable btw.
@cod yes you will love the Santana skirt, so light and easy to wear (I have it in green from last season and agree the red does look rather lovely)

wearenotacodfish · 05/02/2019 17:54

Soy I find it okay in the boob department.

Order done I've gone for a Santana skirt, side stripe jogger, Lilium dress, tailored culottes, Hamilton dress and a hair clip. I won't keep it all.

twosoups1972 · 05/02/2019 17:56

Nice haul soy I love the skirt, looks beautiful. Will you have enough occasions to wear it? I really like the jacket too, I am also inverted triangle and love jackets, I have far too many.

twosoups1972 · 05/02/2019 17:57

melen sorry to hear that, if it's a tummy bug eat lightly and plain food but I'm sure you know that. Wish you well Flowers

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 18:06

Thanks soup yes I’m sure I’ll find occasions to wear the skirt as I do go on a lot of business dinners when I travel with work and don’t spend the evening working till midnight in a hotel room with a room service salad for company like last week It was only £36 so happy to keep as I just adore the Devore fabric. Maybe I can dress it down with black or dark blue t shirts come the spring and wear it for casual eves too?
Look forward to your haul feedback @cod you’ll be the first to order from the new collection I think?

twosoups1972 · 05/02/2019 18:10

Sounds good soy that's a great price.

I've bought a couple of knitted dresses from Fat Face and Boden, and some skirts from Jigsaw which I will post photos of later.

twosoups1972 · 05/02/2019 18:12

Can I pick all your brains about socks - if you're wearing straight leg jeans and trainers, what socks do you wear? Normal ankle socks, trainer socks or no socks?

wearenotacodfish · 05/02/2019 18:14

Soups I would usually go for a trainer sock

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 18:16

Soy yes would look good with a nice fabric tee & pretty sandals in the summer.
Soups thanks look forward to pics, if no gap between my jeans & trainers I wear ordinary socks, if sorta boyfriend type then I wear trainer socks or none very much depends on the weather though as my feet really feel the cold.

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 18:18

@soups glad you got some dresses in the end! Look forward to pics tomorrow.
On jeans socks: depends on what shoes you’re wearing? If trainers and not too cold personally I prefer trainer socks so they don’t show. If ankle boots I guess it doesn’t matter as they won’t show under jeans in any case. That’s IMHO btw others may have better more ingenious combo ideas

Ellapaella · 05/02/2019 18:35

Soups depends if you have any ankle on display? If so u would wear either trainer socks or more recently I've been wearing glittery ankle socks which I think looks good.
With my DM's I've been turning my jeans up at the ankle and wearing red tights under my jeans (it's been freezing) so a flash of red tight is visible.

Soyo love the skirt - Tres Chic, looks lovely.
I have a crew jumper and I'm afraid to say it's bobbled to absolute buggery which would put me off buying one to be honest but I do love that colour on you.

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 19:11

Thanks @ella for the skirt love the pic doesn’t do the Devore fabric justice, it’s fab and the reason I persisted despite returning the scarf and camisole in the same fabric. I’m super happy, I think it would look great with just a t and my black leather biker too so it’s versatile to dress up or down. The jumper tomato red is great but I’d take a chance on the bobble potential if it wasn’t for the fact it just emphasises my chest too much...at least I know that’s the shade I’m looking for.

What a good idea on sparkly socks and tights!

Laska2Meryls · 05/02/2019 19:22

OK so being at work all day and o2 having a local fault today – I couldn't diddle about on the net at my desk-- , so I haven't really explored up to now ...

so on first look ..:

Chunky Pointelle Jumper -oh my that is so lovely ,but £110... Sorgeous red though Soy!

Ixia Crew jumper also nice in the red , really nice I think.. so much so that - I may ebay my bnwt unworn Scarlett jumper in red ,and buy that one instead ...

Love the Santanas in the new colours, but I have the green and the paprika from last year ..I dont think ill be buying another .

I just adore the Cactus Tee!! but (as above) £45???!!! - They are having a laugh.. (however I now notice that its is sequin-y ,) Its mad, but may just order it 'to see' with the 10% off )

I also love the green Lucky T, but again expensive

Helena shirt and the matching blue Canterbury shoes are both fab.. but I think I am too busty to carry that shirt off

The Frill Wrap dress is rather nice , but I really am too old for that I think , would be lovely for a wedding though

The red Folk dress re minds me of something I wore in my 1970's teen 'Steeleye Span' and folk club days - and I am NOT going back there thank you very much !!

Space dye jumper , too ££ but nice

I already have some shorts just like those green chino ones from M&S a few years ago now.. they are always one of my favourites ..and have worn in nicely, so ill be digging those out again this year rather than buying the Hush ones ( which are fab also)

I may actually buy the Oversized denim jacket though . Love that !

Love the Castor top on the model , reckon it would make me look far too blowsy!! (but great if you have small boobs)

Knitted star hoodie is so me!! (…..but too expensive again ) as are the star shorts , but I have last years which I think are nicer actually

Hamilton Dress in Blueberry ..that could be an order though
also maybe the blue/ black cropped leggings..

Margot leopard scarf (that was out pre-spring I think? is also nice but not £45 nice

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 19:34

😂 at steel eye span Laska I like the Hamilton dress as well & the Bo top off to have a look at the denim jacket missed that.
I have a very similar jumper to the pointelle in white from next & its 100%cotton a hell of a lot cheaper than the hush one, I think they do it other colours as well.

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 19:35

Yy the knitted hoodie, but it’s very expensive.

Laska2Meryls · 05/02/2019 19:42

cherries i have checked my Chester trainers , they are not like yours and t e white edges are well attached so yes Ithink yours do have fault..they still have them though if you want to risk and exchange ... they are so comfy ..

My jersey nightie arrived today/ It is lovely ,, a definite keeper and great for lounging in , Its a v dark navy with rose gold metallic spots.. Was out of the box and straight on ! Am still wearing it now with some navy PJ bottoms.

Soy I love the woollen jacket on you best .. the red jumper I think doesnt really show you at your best (neck is too high I think for you ,) but the star jumper is fine on you, keep it!

SoyYo · 05/02/2019 19:48

Still failing to peruse the Hush website (I’m ironing and doing oven dinner multitasking doesn’t begin to describe it, but in between catching up with the thread Shock)
@laska Folky Days Grin I remember them well...I’m pleased your nightie is fab and that you like the jacket, deffo a keeper I’m impressed with the quality tbh and got it for £66 or thereabouts...can’t complain at that.
I really must not buy anymore now.
Frugal February from now on...

Where’s never? Hope you’re well Hush friend

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 19:51

Soy was just thinking the same haven’t seen Never for a few days.
Dunno why I’m looking at the website I’m not buying any of it😢
Laska nightie sounds very comfy & perfect for lounging.

Laska2Meryls · 05/02/2019 20:17

Do we like the Tiger print?

I am quite drawn to the skirt....

I have just ordered the cactus T and the blue Santana (even though i said I wasn't going to

Last year the green Santana's sold out in a flash and I reckon the blue will be popular .. I am fairly sure that I wont keep that cactus T (far too impractical for my life), but I had to have a look at it..

Hush Friends delivery has disappeared again though ! Stamps foot!!!

NotAnActualSheep · 05/02/2019 20:18

Oh yes, the cushions are very comfy len- thanks Grin. Glad you are feeling up to eating something a bit more substantial today. Poor you!

And thanks soy! Work is a bit of a pain at the moment tbh (though not as manic as you!). I've been spending most of my time in the last year on one project, which has had ups and downs, but it's in a serious down at the moment... The manager of the company I'm working with is having a "crisis meeting" ( never a good term!) with the overall client next week...so it's either going to be full steam ahead after that, or (more likely) pulled. Which is annoying in terms of the amount of effort put in, but also, for me, it means I'm going to have to find more work! But I can't start looking yet because if it does go ahead there will still be loads of work for the next year! The joys of self employment...

Good sounding haul codfish! Looking forward to seeing that...the culottes and the lilium dress did also catch my eye as possibilities (I like that little daffodil print) But not now, I think.

And yay soups on the knitted dresses! Glad you have found some that work for you. On the sock question, I tend to go for trainer socks with rolled up jeans, or longer ones with full length jeans... I got a load of merino socks from gap in the sale a few years ago...and they are on heavy rotation at the moment (there is no way I'm baring ankles in sub zero temperatures!) Though I like the idea of "coloured legs" using tights or similar. May give that a go, though I sometimes find tights under trousers a bit annoying..though definitely warm.

Laska I'm impressed at your mental shopping list! I may go and have another look at some of those. Actually, the short sleeved blue shirt and shoes are rather nice. And Blush I sort of like the folk dress...it's that willowy, floaty inner me that likes wafting in wildflower meadows talking, I think. But then, I also sort of liked the Antonio banderas puss in boots boots, so don't listen to me... Glad the nightdress is a winner too!

miffy2 · 05/02/2019 20:25

Do Hush disable refer a friend codes with new collections? I am trying to use one (it worked on a previous basket but I did not check out) and am using a new email address but it won't work. I enter it on the gift code section, right?

FWIW I think I will go for the star shorts and maybe the striped wide jersey top. I also like the Oakland raglan top in green though...
