Completely missed the ball with the previous thread so hope this thread is easy enough to find!

I loved the bag, along with dress and coat. I thought she looked wonderful. I hope she reads this thread, and avoids the ghastly fail.

certainlymerry · 14/01/2019 22:17

Lovers - that's great! Do you mean the museum in Edinburgh?

LoversLane · 14/01/2019 22:34

It’s the V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London

legolammb · 14/01/2019 22:41

Loved the red on Meghan today, though agree the bag wasn't a great match. I think her and Hazza must have been off on a babymoon, hence the tan and her hair looking a bit lightened from the sun! Don't blame them!

Harebellmeadow · 14/01/2019 22:44

Checking in too.the telegraph is being mean about MM as usual. Hope they stop reading the papers for a while.

Wetdogloveshubert · 14/01/2019 22:47

Love Rania's outfit! Gorgeous fall on the material and I love the buttons. Great share, Curly.

Harebellmeadow · 14/01/2019 23:30

MM looking really lovely in the red/purple combo. Not so much the (still doesnt fit) dress, but a beautiful smile, wonderful slightly chubby cheeks and a happy and even complexion that must be sun related. Hope they had a nice break before braving duties again.

Cel982 · 14/01/2019 23:40

Why does the bump touching seem to bother people? It's a really normal, instinctual thing for a pregnant woman to do, I don't really understand the criticism.

Love today's outfit, the red and purple really work together and her smile is radiant.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 15/01/2019 00:24

I think she picked the right bag, perfect in my opinion, she really could not choose anything else other than a neutral colour, if she had picked purple or red it would have looked ridiculously matchy matchy and if she had picked another clashing colour like yellow as a pp poster suggested I think she would then be heading into clown territory! It’s such a shock to see her in colour but she looks fab, she is incredibly stylish I think it just comes naturally to her, it looks effortless.

myrtleWilson · 15/01/2019 00:40

Re the bump touching...

I clicked (stupidly) on a link on another thread - turned out to be Daily Mail - and every single photo of DoS was touching her bump. I did wonder whether this was a deliberate decision of the Mail (there were references to "clutching her bump".

I also wondered whether it was a mixture of usual maternal bump rubbing coupled with a pre-emptive protective instinct given how she had to be escorted out of the market on their recent tour - perhaps that spooked her a bit (understandably).

But am leaning towards Mail deliberately choosing bump touching photos.....

She does look like she's had some sun and I liked the colour combo today (but agree on the bag)

mathanxiety · 15/01/2019 03:36

The bag works with the outfit imo - it grounds it because it is a neutral colour. Any other colour for the bag, with the matchy matchy shoes and coat, would have been bad.

I have to say I hate the red and purple combination and the reason is the matchy shoes and coat. If the shoes had been purple it would have worked better, and she could have used a purple bag too. A navy coat would have worked far better with the dress. Or a tweed/plaid incorporating purples, greys, navys and maybe cream or white.

I also think echoing Diana's 80s styles is a bit dubious as a fashion statement (or as any other sort of statement).

Quantumblue · 15/01/2019 04:27

I don't think the dress fits perfectly. Don't understand how she can't get clothes to sit right, given her resources and gaps between engagements.

EatCrisps · 15/01/2019 06:03

Another great thread title Smile

I don't like the red & purple, personally I think it would have been nicer to wear the red dress & shoes with a navy/black/camel coat. The big is hideous Hmm

desertgirl · 15/01/2019 06:08

Max in green, - having forgotten to brush her hair - here

TipseyTorvey · 15/01/2019 06:52

There you all are!! I am loving MM bright colours but am not loving the tan bag with that outfit either. Also not liking that messy bun again. Maybe she's just too knackered to be fussed with it now and is just whipping it up in ten minutes. She looks very happy and relaxed though, totally comfortable with this part of her new job.

Clionba · 15/01/2019 07:38

Too knackered to be fussed with her hair? Hmm
She's got the time, resources and money to get her look sorted. If her hair is in a messy bun, that's her choice. I think she looks great, and credit to her for looking so serene and being positive after all the dreadful press.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/01/2019 07:53

I like the messy bun, it's her thing! Clever too as it works with the texture of her hair. I wonder what she uses to straighten it? I assume chemical straightening is a no go if you're pregnant.

OP posts:
legolammb · 15/01/2019 08:08

She has similar hair texture to mine and if you have a professional blow dry you can get it pretty straight without the use of chemicals. My guess is she does keratin treatments when not pg but is natural now

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/01/2019 08:09

The Japanese imperial family have been out and about. Just when I thought the women's western dress couldn't get any more conservative they don those skirts! No Masako but she and Akihito are poised to become emperor and empress at the end of April. I'd really love to know what's gone on behind the scenes there, given her past MH troubles. It seems a very suffocating atmosphere as the imperial court makes the grey men at Buckingham Palace look positively relaxed!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 15/01/2019 08:10

@legolammb if I had to pick one beauty treat that I could have everyday, indefinitely, it would be a blow dry each morning!

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/01/2019 08:15

I love the messy bun, it frames her beautiful smile.

Paradyning · 15/01/2019 08:30

I love her messy bun too. It really suits her. Her hair seemed to have a reddish tinge too in the light.
I don't like the tan bag either with the red/purple combination but can't work out what colour would have looked better

8misskitty8 · 15/01/2019 08:45

There will have been hundreds of photos taken of Meghan yesterday. But the dail fail will have deliberately published the ones were she touches the bump so they can have a story about it .

I thought she looks lovely in that outfit although agree about the bag. It just didn’t go with the other colours.

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/01/2019 08:48

Re the bag, I think she just used one she already had. Otherwise the DM would've accused her of spending on yet another bag!!

OP posts:
AhoyDelBoy · 15/01/2019 09:16

I think Kate has got the right idea with the coatdresses as then there’s only one clothing item that people can see and pass judgement on. Of course her recent headdresses have added another element for people to critique as well.

With Meghan’s style there’s more for people to get angry about from a £ perspective. I dunno just a musing.

Not really a fan of the red coat or the bag but liked the purple dress. The whole outfit didn’t go imo although I know colour blocking is a ‘thing’ I preferred Diana’s purple and red combos as the items of clothing were smaller. Meghan looks quite swamped I think.
