I just thinks its unbelievably arrogant to carry on driving after all the trouble he has caused.

Spudlet · 19/01/2019 17:59

Yeah, that's bad. I get there's an argument for getting back on the horse but he doesn't have to do it on the highway like the rest of us.

If it had been our car that had been written off we'd be in trouble - we need two cars to live where we do, but insurance never pays out enough to get an equivalent replacement, ime (I had a car written off by thieves years ago). We'd be either having to take out a loan we can ill afford or use our emergency savings - or both. Honestly, it would feel a bit of a slap in the face of the person who (as far as anyone is in a position to tell) seems to have caused this was straight back into a brand new car and seemed to have taken no lessons whatsoever from it. 🤷‍♀️

Spudlet · 19/01/2019 18:00

if the person. Although the desire to slap the face of the person might be present as well...

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/01/2019 18:14

I imagine the person involved in the accident has got a new car. The reports said PP has been in touch with injured parties. I’m sure he will have made sure they are t out of pocket.

ElspethFlashman · 19/01/2019 18:32

Well Phil's middle name from childhood has been "Fuck You" so whilst it's disappointing, its not surprising given his nature.

I suppose he would argue no charges have been brought........but still. Bad Form.

Anapurna · 19/01/2019 18:35

itswinetime

I'd be surprised if he is out on the main roads so soon

Prepare to be surprised. There is photographic evidence.

GrumbleBumble · 19/01/2019 18:38

Hmmm I was involved in an accident last year when a lorry driver pulled out of a side road into the side of the car. The car was unsurprisingly a write off and the insurance payout wasn't enough to directly replace so we had to get an older, smaller car. The chap that hit me hasn't lost his license, his driving job or had any consequences other than presumably his works insurance costs rising despite "all the trouble he caused". 100s of accidents happen every day with people being prosecuted, barred or losing their license.

areyoubeingserviced · 19/01/2019 18:42

The bag is deffo a Mulberry. I have one

GrumbleBumble · 19/01/2019 18:48

*without people being prosecuted etc

Paradyning · 19/01/2019 18:50

Lucky you areyoubeingserviced! Very jealous!

Butterymuffin · 19/01/2019 18:57

It's bad of him to take risks with other people's safety, which is what it comes down to. It's not just about him. Though also why do he and the Queen not wear seat belts? Especially given what happened to Diana?

LaurenOrdering · 19/01/2019 19:25

As much as I love HMQ & admire her for sticking to 'doing one's duty' as she puts it, don't you think it's her duty to provide a good example by wearing her seatbelt on a public road?
I know the Queen is above prosecution but it just comes across as arrogant (though she may probably be thinking look I'm a safe driver & I've been on the road longer than the seat belt rules have been in place.)
Why should we the public wear our seatbelts if the Queen doesn't?

(Btw I think wearing a seatbelt is non negotiable.)

beanaseireann · 19/01/2019 19:48

I think Phillip has basically put two fingers up to those he injured and to Joe and Josephine Public who help pay for him and his upkeep.
Disgraceful.
Arrogant.
If he wants to get "back on the horse" as it were, I'm sure Sandringham estate is big enough and has side roads he could pootle about on.

In Ireland we have a term for what he did today.

StellaRockafella · 19/01/2019 20:01

Am getting a bit frustrated this thread is being derailed by chat about Prince Philip and the crash.

Please can we get back to talking about the clothes?

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/01/2019 20:23

Quite @StellaRockafella. Just a friendly reminder that there's already a lengthy thread about the DoE's accident on AIBU.

In Monaco Stephanie and her kids to the circus and whoever mentioned it earlier is right, she does look the happiest she's been in a long time. She seems to love the circus - isn't the father of her youngest daughter a trapeze artist or lion tamer or something circus-y?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/01/2019 20:24

Feel free to post any frock pics you like @stella Wink

(We’re just having a little chat about Phil the Greek)

Jiggins · 19/01/2019 20:34

Am getting a bit frustrated this thread is being derailed by chat about Prince Philip and the crash.

Well the obvious thing would then be to initiate some frock chat...

Jiggins · 19/01/2019 20:38

Stephanie looks good there. Maybe a wee facelift?

She's certainly had a fun old life. Running away with the circus and having a string of unsuitable affairs. A more likeable Princess Margaret.

Paradyning · 19/01/2019 20:43

It was interesting to see Leti with obvious grey in the previously posted pics. Not sure I've seen that before

StellaRockafella · 19/01/2019 20:48

Jiggins Well, having commented earlier about Meghan's Mulberry bag and there not being anything in the press today (that I know of) concerning Royal fashions, I'm unable to contribute anything of interest. I'm not one to post for the sake of it. However, my points about the thread being derailed are valid, this is the thread about clothes and not cars or car crashes.

That's all.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/01/2019 21:33

Well if anyone wants to chat about frocks, it’s currently awards season on the Celebrity Style & Gossip thread

LaurenOrdering · 19/01/2019 22:55

Have always been a bit meh about HMQ's handbag but since having perused the Launer website: launer.com/
I really like them now.

I believe HMQ gets her shoes from Anello & Davide: www.handmadeshoes.co.uk/
If & when I win the lottery I'll have all my shoes bespokeSmile

Clankboing · 19/01/2019 23:07

The colours on the Launer website are beautiful. I could never see myself with such a bag or anyone I know - but perfect for the Queen. I love the colours that she wears.

motheroftinydragons · 20/01/2019 07:16

First post but long time lurker, hello everyone! Thanks for the lovely threads.

Saw this on Instagram and had to share here. Another 10 Year Challenge for the DoC but the first one really doesn't look like her! She's changed so much
