Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

Oh I wore bootcuts back in the mid-noughties but I can't bear to rewear any trend that I might've worn at an earlier date! I was horrified when skinnies came in too @Laiste but now would I wear anything else?

Mind you the current fashion for short, stonewashed, high-waisted "wedgie" jeans is hideous!

Laidte I had the MissSuxty jeans you are talking about!!!! I had them inblack and blue. I think they were called Tommy? I loved them!

IdaBWells · 08/01/2019 15:24

My 18 and 15 year old girls love their 1980s style "mom" jeans! Fashion is so weird...

Hairydilemma · 08/01/2019 17:17

Just catching up on the thread - nothing fashionable to add but wanted to say brilliant news Ida, fantastic!

Paradyning · 08/01/2019 18:18

Completely agree @Bloominglovely

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/01/2019 18:39

I think this is official Meghan to e Patron of National Theatre
It would be an excellent role for her!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/01/2019 18:44

Didn't she do a degree in theatre studies? A perfect fit for the role then!

Meanwhile Kate is going to be at the King Henry’s Walk Community Garden in Islington next Tuesday so I imagine jeans and Barbour at the ready.

I too prefer Meghan’s style and fashion over Kate’s. I find Kate style is a bit too “safe” and makes her look older. I love Givenchy and I just don’t think you can replicate those couture designers from the high street. Prefer Meghan’s colour pallete as well. Although I did but the lavender long coat from M&S last year which I love.

EdWinchester · 08/01/2019 20:01

Agree. I am always interested to see what Meghan wears as she definitely has her own style. Kate looks perfect always but utterly dull and older than her years.

EatCrisps · 08/01/2019 21:19

Wonderful news Ida

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/01/2019 21:33

Just saw this photo attached to an article about the Royals. They all, including Diana are 36 years old. Even 2 decades later; Diana is utterly radiant....

She really had "something" didn't she?

Diana - stunning.

VamillaSugar · 08/01/2019 22:38

Blimey. The Queen hasn’t changed much since she was 36. I know she’s been described as old before her time, but still....

😁😁😁😆

Sorry.

DoC - Happy Birthday for tomorrow, sweet cheeks 💕

LaurenOrdering · 08/01/2019 23:21

Happy Birthday DoC Wine
& if if you are really amongst us give us a sign......strike/pat your Anne Boleyn headband for the cameras or wear a leopard print scarf Smile

mathanxiety · 09/01/2019 01:22

I believe it was Jackie O who made the cropped trews into a fashion statement.

Gotstuckwiththisname · 09/01/2019 06:21

I wonder what the DofC is doing for her birthday? I bet she's not going to the Indian buffet like me, but I reckon she'll eat a bit of cake (only a sliver though!)

BigGreenOlives · 09/01/2019 07:34

I reckon she’ll have lunch with her mum, Pippa and Charlotte & then after George gets back from school they’ll have a cake and Pippa & Carole will go back home. Then she & William will either have a quiet dinner at home or they’ll go somewhere low key, Nice and relaxed after Christmas, nothing to disturb G who’s just gone back to school.

Becles · 09/01/2019 07:40

I now have epic delusions of grandeur. Could I pull this off on public transport Royalistas? Hmm

Paradyning · 09/01/2019 07:43

Maybe they're away skiing. Have they been this year yet ( yes I know it's term time)

BigGreenOlives · 09/01/2019 07:52

I don’t think they’d go as G goes back to school. Maybe this weekend but France is a bit short of snow & Austria has a big storm forecast for this week and the weekend.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/01/2019 07:56

I believe it was Jackie O who made the cropped trews into a fashion statement.

Ah, see I always think of Audrey Hepburn and her little boxy sweaters and ballerina flats.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 09/01/2019 08:12

I’d start off with a cup of tea in bed on my OWN. Maybe Kate will be the same. William I think has an engagement so I reckon lunch with Carole & Pippa. Takeaway Indian later on for the 5 of them Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 09/01/2019 08:27

Picture of Meghan and Harry’s country bolthole in Great Tew.
Article in DM

Ken Wharfe was talking about the security costs for Frogmore.
Basically it will cost about £5million, with the refurbishment as there is basically none.
A little bit ironic as there appears to be zero security at Great Tew. Anyone could just hop over their garden wall.

So M&H are going to keep their country house as well.
I think they will probably be given a Frogmore House once Phillip goes. ( he keeps his memorabilia from the Royal yatch there).

Kate’s getting lots of nice messages on her KP twitter account

Can’t believe she’s 37 already. She’s been with William since she was about 19/20? They’ve been together a long time. And we first heard about her when she was about 23. That first ski trip to Klosters. I don’t think anyone thought she was going to be more than a first girlfriend, but she’s a keeper!

I think maybe George and Charlotte came in with homemade cards and breakfast in bed.
Maybe a nice uninterrupted bath, lunch with Carole & Pippa, baby Louis and baby Arthur. I read on the KP website William has an engagement in London today.
Birthday cake when the kids come home from school then a curry and box set with William this evening!
