Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

Why are the DM making a big deal about H&M's country house? The Cambridges have Anmer.

Some of the papers are also saying William is snubbing Kate by doing an engagement on her birthday. Shock, horror, husband goes to work on wife’s birthday. Don’t think I’ve ever spent a day with dh for my birthday unless it was the weekend. They just love making up rubbish.

VamillaSugar · 09/01/2019 09:07

Go for it Becles 😁😁😁

VamillaSugar · 09/01/2019 09:13

Kate will have a breakfast of green tea and boiled egg & soldiers - but the soldiers will be real and will sing Happy Birthday 37 times.

She’ll then put on her best Juicy Couture velour tracksuit and will say “NO! I am the DoC. You lot come to Me!” Then she’ll practice her pole dancing to some Mozart background music while Lous crawls around his ergonomically designed organic playpen, full of handcrafted wooden toys lovingly carved from the Highgrove Estate.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 09/01/2019 10:06

For once there is a non bitchy article in the DM about Kate’s Birthday
Just realised why there was probably a big crowd at Anmer last weekend.
They probably had a party and we’re up late drinking; hence looking knackered!

certainlymerry · 09/01/2019 10:26

The DM has become a really vicious rag.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/01/2019 11:12

I think it always was. Well Mail Online anyway, with their Sidebar of Shame.

Yeah and in the DM it's all "Megan's Country Retreat" like Harry is completely oblivious that his wife has rented a house for a 2 year lease.

And it's only a 4 bedroom, it's not a mansion. I mean it does have a 2 bed outhouse but let's face it, it's no posher than you'd see on Escape To The Country. (god I love that programme. Especially the weirdly attractive red faced tweedy posh presenter who seems to have suddenly appeared from the middle of some local fox hunt)

BlingLoving · 09/01/2019 12:37

I think that patronage is very believable but until I see an announcement from KP, I'm not considering it a THING. That story references the Mail on Sunday's original story....

Haven't we seen pictures of K and W out at local restaurants around birthdays in the past? Maybe not since they moved back to KP, but I definitely recall a local pub picture taken, as it turned out, when she was just pregnant with one of the kids - George or Charlotte.

queenofarles · 09/01/2019 12:41

DM is too nice to DoC its quiet unsettling!

i don't think H&M cottage is that special tbh, looks average . don't see what all the fuss is about DM?

are the Clooneys really friends with the Sussex's ? or is it all made up by Dm? i think George and Amal might consider themselves too important for H&M ?

i still think George wants a career in politics. and from the stories I've heard about them they don't befriend anyone they don't benefit from.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/01/2019 12:53

The perspective in that house photo looks really odd CurlyWurlyTwirly - it's like it's really tiny and only small children could fit in.

(It's funny how everyone on MN slags off the DM (and rightly so) but at least 9/10 links come from there... In a former life, I did once refer to the DM as a fascist rag, not realising until it was pointed out later that I was talking to its political editor! He took it very well.)

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/01/2019 13:23

The problem with the Mail is that it often has the best photo coverage of various events so everyone flocks to their pages to look at them! But for Kate and Meghan stories I do try to link to Charlotte's blogs as she's really good.

In other news, my House of Bruar catalogue has arrived. Who wants a little preview?

OP posts:
Alwayscheerful · 09/01/2019 13:25

Educate me regarding House of Bruar please, it's not a brand I am familiar with and I need a new Jacket, where does it sit quality wise?

certainlymerry · 09/01/2019 13:30

I've been in House of Bruar many times and honestly there is not a single thing I would want in there.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/01/2019 13:31

@Alwayscheerful They sell "classic" clothes, the kind that you'd image Camilla and Princess Anne would wear on their days off, although they'd never do anything so vulgar as buy a brand new waterproof. Inherited only darling!

Agreed. Damn them!

Bloominglovely · 09/01/2019 13:39

Lol @ Elspeth and the fox hunt presenter who is called something like Joules/Julian?

I’m delighted to read your news Ida. Such a huge relief.

I missed it originally and have been wondering if you were pregnant when I saw everyone’s messages to you.

user1457017537 · 09/01/2019 14:42

The DM have published a very unflattering photo of Kate for her 37th birthday. It’s really makes her look drawn

Bloominglovely · 09/01/2019 14:46

I think that photo was released by KP User? I think it is a nice one of her but maybe I am looking at a different photo.

Alwayscheerful · 09/01/2019 15:52

Do you mean this one?

Alwayscheerful · 09/01/2019 15:55

This one is lovely, from the twitter feed but also in The Mail.

VamillaSugar · 09/01/2019 16:50

Those photos are nice!!

Clionba · 09/01/2019 17:34

Nice guesses about her day, Curly - thought I suspect any lunch would be very light and carb free, there's some serious exercise at some point, and she wouldn't touch a curry!

gingercat02 · 09/01/2019 18:03

I can't see the DoC eating a takeaway at all or any fast food, ready made or convenience stuff
I bet the children have an early dinner as always and Kate and Will have a very civilised dinner and wine (but only a glass to keep the calories down). I find it very difficult to imagine the RF or aristocratic families generally doing the things us plans see as normal
