I just scrolled threads in on looking for the Royal thread and to my absolute horror it wasn't there! I never placemarked!

I shall have to go into the Tower whilst they send to France for the right kind of sword to behead me with.

Kate wears the headbands to cover her head as is traditional when attending Church.

The hair loss theory makes no sense.

I’m not saying she’s going bald or anything, just maybe has slightly finer feeling hair as is totally normal 9 months post partum

It makes no sense because if she has some hair loss, just wear a hat like she's been doing for 8 years!!

I think that Kate just likes wearing her hair long - it's her 'thing'. The headbands allow her to comply with the old-fashioned royal requirement for formal headgear, whilst allowing her hair to flow relatively freely.

The hair loss thing doesn't really wash either, given that 9 times out of 10 her head is bare.

I can only deduce that she likes them.

I am not completely averse to the headbands, but this latest outfit, headband included, was like some dumpy matron attending church. Awful.

I think one of the reasons for the headband weirdness for most of us is the deep seated knowledge that we could NEVER wear such an item. Imagine turning up at the next wedding you go to - SIL's oldest daughter say - wearing one of those? People would look at you like you were completely loopy. It doesn't matter how fashionable you or your family are, I just don't think the headband is something 99.9% of the population could even consider wearing without feeling like an idiot.

In which case, Kate really is a genius - no one is going to copy her!

Regarding the history of theVladimir tiara, I notice this long pearl drop necklace in one of the photographs. It seems to match the tiara. Does anyone know anything about where the necklace is now?

I could definitely see me wearing one to a wedding, although the blue one is a bit heavy (and I'm pretending I never saw the big velvet one). However, I reserve the right to backtrack if she starts wearing actual houses on her head.

Well I like the headbands. If M&S sell them, I’ll wear them to church.

I think Kate is a summer. When I’ve looked into trying to figure out my own colours online, she’s often given as an example of a cool summer.

I never think of summers being brunette, I always think of them as being blonde.

I don't hold with all this summer/winter "colours" stuff. Just wear what you want, then you'll look good!
Kate obviously feels safe in blue. I think she looks great in bright yellow and green, but she wears those rarely.

Winter/summer colours ect i'm all at sea about. No idea. I've tried to my own online and it seems so open to interpretation. So I know from looking in the mirror i look shite in yellow and that's about as far as i can say for certain

This site has the best colour analysis that I've seen; the tip sheet is well worth downloading. According to this, Kate is a bright/clear (as am I), and looks best in strong jewel tones.
