Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

Fabulous news Ida Flowers

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/01/2019 07:36

Great news @IdaBWells

I'd be surprised if we saw Cambridge no 4. Given Kate's HG I'm surprised we saw no 3 really!

luckygirl322 · 07/01/2019 08:16

Wonderful happy news Ida! What a fabulous start to 2019!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 07/01/2019 08:26

How wonderful Ida! Happy new year to you!

The headbands - she could just like them?! At least they're a bit different, she's having fun even if they're not hitting the spot for everyone.

fleuriepeninsula · 07/01/2019 08:28

Bit late to the colour discussion but I think Kate suits warm colours and is probably a Spring. She looked amazing in the lilac Emilia Wickstead dress but always looks very drained in the icy blue she wears occasionally e.g. the blue Emilia Wickstead she wore when pregnant. The ball gown she wore to the Diplomatic Reception really wasn’t a great colour on her and made her face look very lined and gaunt.

If I’m right I think that’s why she gets away with some autumn colours (especially olive).

AhoyDelBoy · 07/01/2019 08:32

That is lovely news IdaBWells! That must be a relief, happy for you and your family Flowers

Minimammoth · 07/01/2019 08:45

Ida you deserve a special tiara. ooXoo. < that’s meant to be a tiara

Gotstuckwiththisname · 07/01/2019 08:46

Great news Ida!

I can't see the Cambridges having a 4th either. Kate is one of three isn't she? You mostly tend to subconciously go with your family norm I think, don't you? Plus, like someone said, there's an heir, a spare and one just for her now, so no "need" for another one.

IdaBWells · 07/01/2019 08:53

The "Catherine's Anne Boleyn Headband Appreciation Society" (CABHAS) is a rather small exclusive club as you can tell (and I am a founding member). You must be someone who appreciates royalty wearing novelty headpieces. The larger and more imposing the better. They should inspire gawping and maybe a very slight confusion in the onlooker to truly qualify. Most effective when the wearer is beautiful and the article in question is like nothing seen on British royalty in a few hundred years.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/01/2019 08:59

They're actually quite an amusing choice when you consider Anne Boleyn's fate!

Oh dear! Confused

DontCallMeCharlotte · 07/01/2019 09:10

CABHAS

I'm in! I love them.

IdaBWells · 07/01/2019 09:10

Hopefully we can dredge up some other Tudor era royal women who wore similar and lived to tell the tale!

IdaBWells · 07/01/2019 09:12

It's also interesting when Catherine is accused of being so conservative and yet is choosing to wear something very unusual frequently.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 07/01/2019 09:24

I don't know about Tudor but Sophie's wedding dress/look was very medieval - is that close enough for starters?

CrookedMe · 07/01/2019 09:26

But - why headwear at all? It's not like it's a requirement and she's doing her best to fulfill it. She doesn't have to wear anything on her head.

IdaBWells · 07/01/2019 09:30

Crookedme but why wear heels or tiaras or feathers - it's like so much of what the royals wear, for effect! As I like them I think they help complete an outfit and make it "extra" as my teens would say Grin
