@ilovecherries what size/colour did you get the Muriel jumper in? It does come up big. I got a S and it fits fine.

Yes @laska. Mine are a 12. The do miraculously stretch.

Will catch up later but in a very sleep deprived state thanks to ours and half the streets burglar alarms going off all night because of power cuts, I hit place order on £375 worth of stuff that I'd put in my basket from last night BlushShockBlush
I'm at work but will post later when I'm home

Ok well in the end I only bought the Dylan red striped trousers (from John Lewis as they had my size) so they will be ready to pick up from my local Waitrose tomorrow! Then I had to pay the postage as I wanted to be a sheep and also buy the khaki oversized star shirt which wasn't available on the JL site so I've ordered that. And that's all. For now.
Sadly I didn't even have to have a dilemma about the Patti star jumper as it was oos, and the pink Stella double star jumper isn't in the sale.
Maybe they'll do more reductions in a week or so?

I'm still somewhat drawn to the cropped check trousers as I have been since they came out. Total nonsense really as they are the biggest departure from anything I'd normally wear!

My 20% box arrived this morning have opened and had a quick look .
Cashmere scarf is lovely - huge and very wearable shades of leopard !
Not sure I would pay full price for it tho - and it’s still a lot with 20%

Will report back on the rest later

Very jealous of leopard leggings orders - no way could I carry those off but they look great especially at the reduced price.

@ilovecherries I really like the leather midi am sure it would soften.

I’m still dithering about that damn skirt. I’m going to style it properly tomorrow, rather than just fling it on, and make a decision when I see it with tights/boots/decent top rather than bare legs, slippers and warm jumper. The leather is beautifully soft and it’s well finished, lined etc, so it’s really nice quality, especially at half price. I’m just wondering if it’s half price because it’s naff!

My 20% off order finally arrived.

The Domino dress is too tight around the chest and too short in the waist. I think it might be I need to size up to a 14 as otherwise I really like it.

However there was no invoice skip in my delivery bag. Is this normal? I have a paid return label from a previous order that I am going to use to send the dress back but can I just print out my order sheet I wonder and use that as a returns slip?

I may just return the zebra scarf and re-order as well as it works out a bit cheaper...if I am paying for a return (as in I pay my forwarding service to deliver to RM) and a new delivery charge as well.

miffy2 · 03/01/2019 16:02

Ignore my last message, I found the returns slip - and a paid-for label too. Score.

Report
miffy2 · 03/01/2019 16:16

Right, I have ordered:

Domino dress in 14
zebra scarf (re-order)
Pamplona skirt

I will send back the Domino in 12 and the zebra scarf I got at 20% off and the saving will cover the pamplona skirt :)

I am a bit annoyed as at 12:01 when I was playing about with a cart, I was able to use the new £20 off code I got from notanactualsheep but now it won't let me use it - perhaps as I had placed the items in the basket before the sale started. Now I had to empty the cart and put new items in and the offer only works on full price items. Not the end of the world.

cherries it is a beautiful skirt, in my head it will work best with a boot with a high-ish chunky heel.

I had bought a navy leather-look skirt before Christmas and that was how I was going to style it. I ended up returning it as I had nothing to wear it with top-wise, but I would say the black leather is a classic.

@miffy good to hear you’re happy with purchases even if you need to re-order...yy the Domino dress looks so useful and love the shape.
I have the Pamplona skirt it’s really lovely if you’re a short arse and a bargain (I also bought in the last sale though from memory I paid £20 instead of your bargainous £15...) it’s lined and stretchy I reckon the only reason is still available is that it really is a short mini on anyone of average/above average height whereas on me at 5’3” it’s just above the knee so good with opaques and a jumper

ilovecherries · 03/01/2019 16:43

I’m kinda worried miffy that you are right about it needing a heel. I can only manage trainers and very recently, flat Fly boots.

Um, OK......I am 5'7" :) :) but I ordered the large as some of the reviews say it can sit on the hips.

Considering I have the Oslo skirt in a small and can get away with it pulled down on the hips I am hopeful! If not, sure, back it will go! My legs are not in bad nick and I can get away with shorter skirts as long as I cover the mid-section with a jumper or similar.

My goodness - I'm finding work difficult today.... I have the concentration of a goldfish.

cherries - that skirt looks lovely, even with your running gear! its a really nice shape...i always associate leather skirts with short or pencil skirts, but yours gives the "luxury" of leather in a more informal shape. It's lovely, and I can't see any sticky out-y bits either (or do you just mean the A line shape? I reckon that'll soften/ go more floppy (in a good way!) with wear.

lol @ len disguising yourself with the boden box!

sprouts - I remember the blouse you mean..was it the same material as the Kensington shirt dress a couple of seasons ago? In fact, a google suggests it may have been the Kensington shirt (don't buy it from there...website looks dodgy as anything...but it was the only one that had a picture that didn't disappear cos it is out of stock JL, I'm looking at you ). Though I seem to remember it had long sleeves, and that one has short sleeves.

gin - that sounds pretty grim. But looking forward to hearing about your mega-order.

fudge --oooh, I have the dylan trousers with the black stripe rather than the pink. They are great...though I am thinking the ones i have are a bit on the large size. Nothing too bad, though.

live - I'm glad the cashmere scarf is as good as you were hoping! Though it would really have to be for the £££.

miffy - haha! Bargain on the "free" skirt. Almost a blessing that the dress didn't fit in the first place! Though a pity that you can't use the code. But i suppose the sale savings equal whatever you'd have got off with the code.... Keep it, and maybe it will work again when the sale is over if you want anything in the future?

I've just got notification that my stuff has been dispatched...excited now...

cherries I don’t see any sticky outness, but do agree with Miffy a block heel boot would go well, is their anyway that you could manage a block heel say if you were going ‘out out’ & not walking/trains/bus?
Or maybe a flatform trainer.

There's nothing I'm tempted by. If anyone is pondering the Florence skirt, I got it I last years January sale and it is a lovely skirt for the sale price. Much better quality than the Meg ruched skirt and looks great with biker boots and a biker jacket.

There is so much there that has been bought out from last January sales!
And honestly not much of a reduction on lots of stuff, £15 off a £100+ jumper is not really a bargain or a sale imo. Especially when paying delivery. But maybe I'm just the voice of doom and gloom.

Have enjoyed reading about everyone's buys and looking forward to seeing some pictures when it all arrives. Only thing I'm slightly pondering is the Stevie jeans - are these the jeans you have @Laska2Meryls?

@Ella I ordered the Florence skirt so glad to hear that! How does the sizing come up? If it was free delivery/returns I’d have tried a couple of sizes. As it was I sized up/took Christmas weight into account!
I also ordered the Oslo skirt as it seemed a bit of a bargain and I’m trying to stop living in jeans!

I think the skirt is lovely but you need to lift it with a heel either boot or shoe. Because its calf length, any flat will have the effect of shortening the leg. You may get away with ankle boots and tights in black opaque but I would personally keep away from loafers/brogues for fear of having the nun look. Trainers might be fine too. I think the stick out bits are just cause its A-line. Do you really love it?Or are you keeping it cause its a bargain? Have you worn your gorgeous burgundy one lots? Would you be gutted if you returned it? If not maybe consider returning it. [ I should take my own advice lol..] Sometimes someone saying something though can make you re think.

God that was a long day, can't wait for my bed. @ilovecherries love the skirt!
So, a bit of a random bag but here goes:
*Pyramid pendant
Devore skinny scarf
Tansy dress in confetti green
Zebra scarf
Khaki star shirt
Phoenix dress
Moon dot flannel pjs
Polo neck Tara
And finally, because I've lusted after it for a while:
Long piped kimono.
Really hoping DH is out when it all arrives on Saturday Blush
Can't possibly keep it all

Really looking forward to seeing everyone's purchases.

I do like it very much but the shoe thing may be the clincher. A heel is just not an option, just too much pinning/scarring in my bad leg to make it feasible. I can’t believe how well I’m doing given the state I was in for an entire decade but I’m super careful about shoes and never go without the lift in my right shoe - don’t even wear slippers, I always wear a pair of go-walks indoors so I can get the orthotic in them.

I’m with you @not I’m finding it extremely hard to get head back into work mode arghhh! And I’m leading a day long workshop with really difficult business partners in Paris next week/still need to update analysis and slide deck for that day long session so wtf @soy? Someone please give me a kick up the arse need to be more productive instead of looking at Jan sales Blush

@zippy you did well to size up on the Florence skirt, I ordered in a 12 last Xmas sale and as @ella says it’s lovely but I was less porky than now and ended up returning as all sizes were ooo at the time. Now I see there’s a 14 and tempted but will try and resist determined

@miffy 5’7” tall! Grin oh well the Pamplona is so easy to wear I reckon if you love go for it

In an effort to clear my head and keep my NY resolution of one brisk walk a day I hauled myself out in the bitter cold wearing the warm velvet puffa and took the long way to the P.O. to return a Hush parcel.
Sadly my recent boho purchases are still in transit so it’ll all arrive Sat with the Hush stuff at the same time!
It’s possibly a good thing as when I see the result of my careless spending in the sales I’ll be shamed into returning at least part of it...(hopeful)

@gin like your haul only thing you may be disappointed with (I was) is the skinny Devore scarf, I don’t know how cheap it is now but I was positively underwhelmed at its flimsiness (nice fabric though) when I bought I think with 30% off so I ended up returning...

I have worn the burgundy one I bought in Spain loads - because it’s short it’s more forgiving re shoes.

@zippyswife I am a 10 and got a 10 and it's fine on me. I don't think it'll be an issue sizing up though as it's certainly not a generous fit.

Just ordered the green leather skirt to try Wink
I sized up as leather is pretty rigid and hoping it will sit lower but it may be too big. If I keep, I will return everything else I have ordered in the sale.
