Fk it I did it anyway burgundy leather leggings If I can squeeze into them right now I'll be surprised.. Sad

Morning! Good to read you girls are in top form Smile
@laska I’m glad you went for the leggings, it’s a great reduction and you can always return but at least you’ll know if they’re you or not...
@cherries I was tempted by the coats too but stopped myself...I really do own more than enough bloody coats!

I’m liking everything you’ve all gone for and look forward to reading your feedback on receipt as I’m sure some will be reduced further as January moves on and they want to shift old stock. Worth keeping an eye on anyway.
Its a shame they’re not doing free del/returns...is it only free for “hush friends” as I got mine but there again my order was ££

One thing that stopped me being seduced by more stuff is that yesterday before the sale went live I checked out never link and realised Hush are doing the FOMO bit to stimulate sales:
A) old season stock reappearing as previously mentioned when I remember some of it being totally ooo at previous sales: example Ziggy jumper in grey. All I can think of is maybe they got late returned stock after the sales were over online? Hmm otherwise what is the deal?

B) some things that were listed before midnight were OOO in ALL sizes already so WTF? Why reduce other than to induce buyer panic that if you don’t buy stuff now you risk not getting it

Dear Hush If you are reading this please don’t think we are completely stupid. We like the clothes but putting stuff up for sale ooo before it even goes live is a cheap FOMO marketing trick and as a result I ordered less rather than more...

SoyYo · 03/01/2019 10:47

Am I being harsh? Maybe they did the webpage with reductions way in advance to go live at a certain time/date and in the meantime it went out of stock Hmm
Tell me I’m an old cynic Grin

@melen I’m so pleased you like the Boden blue blazer I did think it would fit you beautifully and the ponte fabric is super comfy I agree 👍
I want to comment on others buys but will have to recheck the thread first

I got the leggings in 12 are they true to your should I have sized up?

True to size (posting on hovercraft!,)

I’m about to try order the Yasmin dress. Whats sizing like (for a size 12 apple)? And it says that or may shrink? Anyone have any experience with this?

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 11:19

TTS on the generous side @laska you’ll be fine, mine are 12 too and they appear small but miraculously stretch when you hoist them up Grin
I’m at least 10lb above my ideal weight atm (darent weigh myself since Xmas) and they fitted so I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised...the maroon shade is nice but I wanted mine for both normal wear and going on the bike in the summer (better than jeans even though they’re so soft and fashion I really ought to wear proper heavy duty leather trousers when riding).
So that’s why I wanted grey to contrast a little with all my black tops and make it more versatile for other occasions.
If bike riding hadn’t been a consideration I’d have been tempted by the maroon but as it if I really can’t justify both.

Morning all.

Disapapointed the Alessia lurex shirt is only down by £15, wonder if I should wait....

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 11:22

@zippy the Yasmin is generous everywhere...unless you’re a big boob cup size I’d say you can go down a size or stay with your usual size but wouldn’t size up...

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 11:26

@soups they do reduce further later on in Jan...you just risk it being ooo on your size. It’s hard to tell how quickly and which items will be reduced further Confused

Report
zippyswife · 03/01/2019 11:27

@soyYo thanks. What do you wear it with? I’d like to wear it dressed down with biker jacket and boots/trainers? Would that work?

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 11:35

Argh I got tempted to place 1 more order. Really liked the star necklace @each got but it’s now OOO 😢
I was wearing my LL black T vest to bed last night and DH was sooo complimentary Blush so just for his private pleasure I’ve ordered another one in charcoal grey at £15 in the sale (back order)
Actually they are not only useful as a long layer with leggings/skinnies but also make a light nightie (I get hot in bed if I wear proper jammies yet too cold to sleep totally naked)

And I hadn’t noticed the bargainous Lola scarf till laska mentioned it Angry so what the hell in for a penny in for a pound...
Now I must stop till further reductions at least,

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 11:40

Yes @zippy that’s exactly how I’d wear it IF I’d kept it. I ordered the shorter version of the Yasmin in blue and gold stars but I’m a FF cup and the 12 was a bit snug giving me a tiny boob gap and if I sized up it would have been too huge elsewhere so that’s why I suggested stay TTS or go down unless you’re a big cup size.
It may be the maxi version is cut differently but again I’m only 5’3” tall so I don’t usually go for maxi dresses.
I do think if you’re taller it could be a fabulous casual dress, wear with the shoes you described and denim, leather jacket or even cardigans would all look great 👍

Rereading some of your buys but finding it difficult to remember who bought what!
@bug you went for a good haul! Do report back
@miffy Hola! Just to say it’s nice to see you back, hope your latest purchase is a hit
@each was it you that went for the silk trousers? Interested in what you think
For those of you who got the Felix or felted dresses do report back I always think the shapes wouldn’t work on me but may be wrong...
I like the star leopard jumper @laska
And @live all the lovely cashmere scarves!
@not your post on cobwebby hair made me laugh
@never I think maroon will suit your colouring and the boots are lovely but you’re right unless perfect you already own some very awesome boots

Apologies to @ella I’ve not forgotten the challenge to wear something old and will try harder tomorrow Blush

I’m sending the Muriel jumper back to Boden, it’s far too big. I’m still dithering about that black leather midi. At the minute, it’s a bit sticky out at the sides, but it may lose some of its structure with wear.

Morning all, Laska don’t blame you for giving the leather trousers a whirl the reduction is good.
My 😇 slightly restored haven’t ordered anything, agree Soy annoying that some stuff already oos. I’m off to post office soon with boden parcel only problem is it came in a enormous box, not sure how I’m going to get to the P.O. it’s nearly as big as me so if you see a pair of legs & humongous box wandering around south east London it’s only me.
Look forward to seeing all your sale stuff.

Poor @melen! Yy those Boden boxes are humongous!
@cherries did you post a pic of you in the leather skirt? Can’t remember tbh I just remember the link you posted...I’d say if it doesn’t fit perfectly not worth keeping specially if it’s already a bit generous as leather always stretches so it’s likely to go bigger with wear.

Happy Sale Day folks...glad others have succumbed too Grin but that is totally me done for the sales... until they reduce anything else later on in the month.. Not £2.3K though, never !!!! (though it sounds like you were pretty restrained after all..hope the cashmere works for you...the nibbled one was a bricky colour and that did look lovely with your colouring, so it may work). Glad you have christened your new CC too laska... Hope the leather leggings work as we'll for you as they have for never and soy.

soups - that Alessia blouse is lovely. I don't have it, but did stroke it lovingly in JL! Someone on the last thread did, and looked gorgeous in it (missfliss, possibly?).

lol soy @ starry balloon...I'm sure you won't! That shirt will look lovely with the leather leggings I reckon. I was very tempted, but seriously, I do have lots of floaty blouses, and also i find polyester tops have started bringing on hot flushes no end... Blush and i can only wear them for about half a day without me feeling I have to change... not a good look or smell. The check trousers are beautiful...tried them earlier in the season in JL, but they just didn't suit me at all Sad.

HLBug - wow - that's a fab haul! I have the Atlas shirt and it is great (sweat issues notwithstanding...its actually not too bad for that!) and the open star necklace is gorgeous. I did try the solitaire earlier in the season, and its a lovely fabric, but the style swamped me a bit - though if you've sized down it may be OK (I only went down by 1 size - but just wasn't bothered enough to try a further size down!). Like the sound of live's order too!

I do kind of agree with soy about the FOMO thing. I fancied some pyjamas, but they were all basically sold out last night apart from in maybe one size...and also one of the bags - thats not even a size issue. Hmmmm Hmm.

So having said I wasn't going to order anything in the sale I have... i went for the burgundy slub t shirt and charcoal l/l tank (I have a black one, and a charcoal L/L T shirt from an earlier sale which are fab - and "only" £15...though on back order). Boring, but useful. Also the lola scarf laska ordered (bargain), and a skinny silk star scarf which looks quite versatile. I'm also going to try both the satin crepe joggers and navy winona trousers - but not entirely convinced I need either of them...they look useful though. And as a wild card, this dress which looks cute and the reviewers seem to like...hopefully will work into spring too.

The lulu cashmere is reduced, but is £2 more expensive than when I got it in the £20% off!! But I was actually feeling sad at the thought of sending it back (saddo) so it's staying and I'm living on beans.

I dithered over a few things..the burgundy felix and Ivy, for example (can you tell I love burgundy..) but thought I probably wouldn't wear the former that much (and would be worried about washing) - and although I wear the navy ivy a lot, not sure my wardrobe really needs a second (plus all the jumpers have left very little space...) and I'm determined to wear stuff I have already... Also the tiger scarf and grey/pink Love scarf (which would go with loads of my stuff)..but still think £35 is quite a lot, so will keep an eye on them... And the florence skirt..but the flower print sold out while it was sitting in my basket, and the green snake is just too similar to the green leopard draped one i have (would like to see it on you, though cherries!).

How are people doing with the wardrobe shopping today? I am wearing some wide legged dark Hobbs jeans which I think i got in the sales a couple of years ago (they have the claw marks - but not too badly!), and a navy gap shirt with little pink and white birds, that I used to wear lots for work - but got lost in a drawer since I have stopped working in an office (its not actually that formal - just cotton - but I just don't usually wear buttoned stuff at home). As it is gap, it has that little label in that tells you which season it is from, and it is winter 2013 apparently, so i think that's quite good going... And the pink Heidi Blush.

I just took a quick picture, obviously not styled at all as just whipped off my running tights to show it! It’s a 12. The white bit in the middle is just the protective wrapping on the zip.

Anyone have a peekaboo vest, how do you get on with it?

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 12:52

@not very wise buys I love the dress hadn’t noticed it before but I think it’s the kind of style that would really suit your shape so fingers crossed for you. Snap on the Lola scarf and LL T (I only ordered these two these morning and so glad I did, bargains and super useful)

@cherries tis a lovely skirt but I really don’t see the sticky out bits...is it because you’ve got your hands in your pockets? (You look great btw Smile) so in any case it’s not that much of an issue if I don’t see it in the pic?

Report
SoyYo · 03/01/2019 12:55

@sprouts I have a peekaboo in black and I really really like it as a layer with the lace peeking through a low v neck jumper and at the bottom. If they reduce the navy enough I’d buy another.
Others however didn’t like as much and it is a bit £ for a lace vest but the lace is soft as is the modal fabric in the vest itself.
The other lace vest however (nonpeekaboo) is nasty cheap plasticky lace so avoid even if vastly reduced
