twosoups sorry to hear about your DD.. Iam sure thta you are doin the right thing though Flowers

Im not jumping in to new sale stuff either tbh I'm bored with it now.. right so the Florence skirt has been reduced further (im sending mine back anyway today as decided that although it is nice , its not my lifestyle ,)
Tiger scar also reduced, but I'm not jumping i have dozens of scarves!! .. Mercury jumper which wasn't in the sale before , now is I see but . nope , I dont need any more jumpers .. brick cashmere wrap is quite a good bargain ( if only it was the charcoal they had reduced id have jumped ) .

My spanx came , i got the medium and they are too small! the top rolls over all the time . Grrr . supposedly the M fits a 12/14 and the L a 16/18! but they are nice............ however the postman has just arrived literally! he has just handed parcels in through front my window while I'm typing this post!! ) they should be the leather leggings and the PJs ..( il go and try them on and report back.. ) .

In other news ,Who knew that you could wash a disposable lighter TWICE in a 60deg wash and it still works?!!.
Dh had one in the pocket of his gardening trews ( he doesnt smoke it was for lighting a bonfire at weekend ) . I washed them yesterday in a hot wash , and then today washed towels.. Then on getting the towels out just now I found the lighter in the drum..
.

Thank you laska and codfish, I really appreciate the support.

laska interesting about the Spanx, I'm tempted to try a pair. I'm top heavy, around a 12 on top and 10 on the bottom, do you think a M would fit me? Are they nice quality? Not too shiny? Can't decide whether to keep the £22 Asos ones or try these.

Hush - just ordered the navy/red Alessia shirt as it's been further reduced.

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2019 12:52

Ok horrible truth time.. I'm putting it out there and I want you to be absolutely honest. They fit no problem and feel comfortable but I am at the moment about a stone heavier than id like to be ( and was last summer)..

Orange jumper is so you can see the full extent of usually hidden flab and the pink meryl in next post is how I would actually wear them. These are the 10's ..the 12s were huge on the bum on me.

The question is do i spend £200 on something that I know will look better on me thinner.. (knowing that I will be thinner in a month.. i've already lost 2lbs this week )

Here goes..... Blush

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2019 12:59

two soups I am an apple , so the waist on the spanx is too small for me.. , sadly..but the hips are fine . I think if you have a defined waist the M will be fine.

If I am not keeping the Hush leather leggings I will definitely get the L, Spanx..they are nice , and not too shiny ..they feel reallv good on apart from the waist rolling down over my tum.. Sad

twosoups1972 · 10/01/2019 13:00

laska they look BRILLIANT, you have to keep them Smile You look amazing, you have great legs.

These are the real leather ones not faux right?

Talisin · 10/01/2019 13:06

Laska they look fantastic! Having serious legging envy now.

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2019 13:09

Yes these are the Hush leather ones in the sale .. I am blushing at the porny bum pic!! its hard to take a photo of your own bum, without sticking it right out like that .. but thanks for kind the endorsement TwoSoups

FuzzyCustard · 10/01/2019 13:10

laska you look fab!

ilovecherries · 10/01/2019 13:17

Laska, I like them on you. The only place they look slightly too tight is in the side view of the orange jumper photos, right at the top of your leg/hip. Had you not had a shorter jumper on it wouldn’t have been noticeable at all. So I think you could wear them now without any issue, with the longer jumper for now, and in another couple of weeks they will be perfect. While I’m not usually an advocate of buying in anticipation of weight loss, I think your situation is different, and they are an incredible buy that won’t come round again for another year.

Thanks..think I am keeping then. I shall run it past DH tomorrow.. he is always a good judge .. ( Although he may have a thwoar factor to get over!!) .
cherries Thanks.. I agree ,some of my other jeans feel a bit tight there right now but dont usually .. But I dont reckon that i will ever wear them with a jumper that short anyway!!

dontcallmelen · 10/01/2019 13:26

Laska just endorsing everyone else, they are really lovely.
Also yy what cherries said, am wel jel of your fabulous long legs.

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2019 13:36

I think I was lucky also with them also , they came sealed in what looked like a manufacturers long polythene bag as you would get from the production line .. (not in the usual Hush bag)

Ellapaella · 10/01/2019 14:20

Yes Laska it's a big thumbs up from me too. I think you should keep 😍

neveradullmoment99 · 10/01/2019 14:23

They look fabulous @Laska - definitely keep them :)

NotAnActualSheep · 10/01/2019 14:23

YY - I'd echo what others said on the leggings laska - you look brilliant! And Envy again... I agree with cherries that even on the hips at the moment you can get away with it, and they will only look better as you lose that little bit of Christmas Baby. Also -the colour combo with the pink Meryl is amazing, as well as the style really working well. I'm so going to try matching pink and burgundy - I would never have thought of that! lol @ washing the lighter...these things are much more resilient than you think they should be!

fudge - I hope you have a lovely day in London. Thats a lovely thing to do on a day off! Look forward to seeing the bag and jones jumper Grin

soups - i love that alessia shirt - i hope it works for you, and the MV jumper too.

I have ordered the insect L/S tee and faces tee from the further reductions, which are much more reasonably priced now. Oh, and some zebra joggers, to see what the fuss is about Grin (not further reduced...just I've been thinking about them for a while...). But that is IT.

My toast order came Blush - and luckily the cords aren't right...they are a bit big, I think, and a bit saggy (photos in next post). They are, unsurprisingly gorgeous material though, and if they are reduced i may try them again in a smaller size, but i only ordered them really to get the jumper and skirt with free delivery. The jumper and skirt are both fab. The skirt will do for spring too...its nice weighty cotton, but good and swishy and would look good with a light tee or something tucked in. I like midi skirts in spring/ summer, 'cos I don't like showing my knees without covering... and also can get away without shaving my legs

(Goes to look for a sock thread...I like socks...I got some fab spotty metallic ones in the boden sale on recommendation here, but think they have sold out now - not helpful....)

twosoups1972 · 10/01/2019 14:26

Well MV is going back, it's a nice colour but the neckline is not good on me. Very boxy fit too.

Hush Tansy dress - going back. It's ok but I'm a bit meh about it.

Can't decide on the Imogen dress - it's nice but even sizing up, it's a bit tight on the shoulders when I move my arms. Not sure what sort of occasion I'd wear it for....

NotAnActualSheep · 10/01/2019 14:28

The toast jumper and bottoms... I seem to be developing a Thing for toast. It's such good quality compared to other places hush, I'm looking at you This is, however, Bad for my bank account...

With dd being unwell, I'm not thinking clearly. Can you all help me make a decision about something - it's my birthday next week - the plan was dh was going to take the day off work and we would go to a spa together. I can't decide now whether to still do that, or go with dd instead or not go at all. Dd just wants to sleep at the moment.

ilovecherries · 10/01/2019 15:05

Does your DD have a view on it, or is she too worn out? Can you postpone a decision for a few more days? To be honest, I’d probably be tempted to stay fairly close to her but it can be hard to do that without making her feel watched as well. My daughter had a very bad spell about two years ago, triggered by her physical health, but spiralled out of control a bit. She (just) managed to stay in uni but I went and stayed with her and she found it hard to let me out of her sight for a few weeks. She didn’t particularly want to interact with me, but afterwards when she felt better she said that just having me in the house made her feel safe, and as if nothing bad would happen on my watch. Not entirely rational, I know!

Ellapaella · 10/01/2019 15:05

Soups what does your dd think? Would she be up for a spa day? She might just not really be able to summons up the energy for anything right now. She may just find life pretty exhausting right now and not have the energy to enjoy anything so I wouldn't worry if she says she doesn't really want to go.
If you and your DH go will you enjoy it? Or will your day be clouded by worry over dd? If so maybe you could postpone the spa day for another time. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer and you certainly shouldn't feel guilty if you do decide to go.

twosoups1972 · 10/01/2019 15:11

Dh is working at home today and we both think we should talk to dd before booking. She's slept well thankfully, well I don't know what time she got to sleep but she slept all morning. I've been looking in on her periodically, she's awake and reading in bed.

Dd would usually jump at the chance of a spa but I think she's not up to it now. Her 18th birthday is in May so maybe I'll treat her then and hopefully she'll be better.

cherries you sound like a lovely mum, sometimes our dc just want their mums no matter how old.

dontcallmelen · 10/01/2019 15:12

Soups that’s a difficult one, what about asking dd if she would like to go with you celebrate your birthday & spend some time together, but you understand if she can’t summon the energy or enthusiasm for it & then pop off with Dh, at least that way she knows you would like to spend time with her but you realise she may not feel as though she is able, it seems a shame to not mark your birthday & it’s only a day trip not a week away & either way can only imagine it will do you good to have a bit of a pamper & change of scenery.

Ellapaella · 10/01/2019 15:12

@ilovecherries that was just how I was when I went through it at 17. I didn't really want to converse with anyone but it was comforting to just have my Mum around knowing she was at home.
I do wonder how much of it was a sudden realisation and fear of growing up and not really wanting to, a sadness over the loss of childhood and being overwhelmed by the pending responsibilities of becoming an adult.

Ellapaella · 10/01/2019 15:22

@NotAnActualSheep I really like your Toast jumper!
