@somany for comparison I’ve just double checked a pic I really didn’t want to post of me sideways with the leggings and beautiful starry Apollo shirt which I didn’t post before because it shows really how very unflattering it is on me (hangs straight off my big boobs making my already very fat tum look even worse)
So forgive if I hurt your eyes but looking at it some amount of creasing seems inevitable but on me it’s not as much as on you which leads me to think you should size down?

@twosoups1972 I like them both. I have a pair of both grey and burgundy trainers and find they both go with pretty much anything, the burgundy as as versatile as the grey.

ilovecherries · 06/01/2019 14:12

Looks at shatters Halo.

I have a pair of black leggings in a 10, a khaki shirt in a 10, and a Florence in a 14 all winging their way towards me. I don’t really think I’m a 10, but I’ve tried the 12 and know they don’t fit, so scratching the itch. I think I prefer the burgundy (just as it fits in my wardrobe better) but there hasn’t been a pair back in stock and so I thought I’d nab the 10 that appeared in black just to size them.

@soups yes go for burgundy!
@somany for comparison this is me right now wearing skinny fabric camo jeans...you can see I get the same creases as in the leather leggings so it’s my shape rather than the garment but if it bothers you then since leather is more expandable than fabric maybe you should size down. I couldn’t because of my current fat gut status Angry

Afternoon! A lot to catch up on so I'm reading the thread on my iPad & posting from my phone so I can tag as I go.
I've been laid up with a bad cold/chest and I've only just tried my sale order on, mostly or maybe all of it going back, but good for the bank balance! I'll post separately....
@UtahGirl12 love love holly W dress on you and your marina outfit. Looks amazing.
@ilovecherries my ds has just gone back to uni let's just say I'm feeling a mixture of relief (due to his nocturnal lifestyle) and sadness because it's been nice having him around.
@HLBug I have that jacket, think I bought it in the sale last year but I've never worn it. I really like it too, just never managed to style it.
I also have the lightening bolt jumper and a meg skirt but the zebra one.
You look lovely in all of it 👏👏
@Laska oh I wish I'd ordered the Oslo now, think it's oos looks great 👍🏻

GinandGingerBeer · 06/01/2019 15:49

Still catching up....
@SoyYo I feel the same Re the khaki shirt with stars but I've only tried it on over my zebra joggers and burgundy raglan as I cba to get changed. I'll see what it looks like with jeans and a T tomorrow.
Love the Florence skirt, really gorgeous on you. You don't look like you've put weight on, you look super slim in those trousers & leather leggings 👍🏻

Wow @ilovecherries 🏅
You're amazing. I couldn't walk it let alone run it I'm so unfit
@twosoups for me I think the burgundy have the edge but they're both nice. How's she feeling about going back to school? Very difficult if she won't say what her worries are, could be mocks must be so worrying.
@ilove your dd sounds so strong with all she's had to contend with over the years. I bet you're very proud of how she copes with it all.

GinandGingerBeer · 06/01/2019 16:05

So, my order!
Pyramid pendant- don't like the chain, it's too yellow
Devore skinny scarf- too flimsy
Star appliqué shirt- like it buts it's huge. Will try with jeans 2 mo and decide
Tansy dress- fits really nicely, hangs beautifully but it's not the material I expected at all and I don't think it's worth £50. Will re order if it gets further reduced.
Phoenix lurex dress- beautiful print but felt like I was in my mother's dress from the 70's. Bit itchy.
Moon dot flannel pjs-Nowhere near the quality of the star ones I had last year. Felt stiff in comparison
Polo neck tara- I have several Tara's and love them, prefer without the polo, this was an S and too big
So I've ordered an Xs standard neck one from JL as it made me realise how after washing weekly for 3 or 4 years, my black one needs replacing.
Long piped kimono- I love it BUT! No pockets! It's very £££ for a dressing gown, the print is beautiful but I think lack of pockets will drive me mad
Zebra scarf- beautiful. Think this is the only thing I'm 100% on!

So very disappointing but good for the bank balance Smile

twosoups1972 · 06/01/2019 16:05

Thanks gin She's actually very keen to get back to school, think the Xmas holidays have been hard for her. She's not getting on well with her younger sister (my middle dd) at the moment who is also doing mocks for GCSEs. Think oldest dd feels intimidated by her younger sister who is very bright and always working or talking about work. Oldest dd has got a lot of comfort from being with her youngest sister however (aged 11), even though they are 6 years apart they are very close at the moment and get on very well. I suppose oldest dd sees her as less of a threat.

wearenotacodfish · 06/01/2019 16:06

I've been lurking on this thread for ages and would like to join if that's okay?

My sale order arrived yesterday:

Lightening bolt jumper - love this and definitely keeping
Stella jumper - like this but already have lots of star items in my wardrobe so it's not really filling a gap
Love jumper - Very tempted by this but don't need it so will probably return
Ivy dress in burgundy- this is definitely a keeper
Lightening bolt scarf - lovely but I don't think I will get much wear from it
Lambs wool scarf - very cosy so might keep
Black Tara boatneck - I wear my green long sleeved one endlessly so will keep this
A short patterned dress (can't remember the name) but it's a keeper
A scarlet crew jumper - I like this but not sure if I should size up. Should these be baggy or fitted?

I am trying to buy quality classic things that I will wear for more than a season. I say this every year though so time will tell.

twosoups1972 · 06/01/2019 16:08

gin I was also looking at the Tansy dress - does it come up big? It looks a bit shapeless in the photos, but it looks nice on does it?

twosoups1972 · 06/01/2019 16:09

I'm also thinking about the Imogen dress - does anyone have?

dontcallmelen · 06/01/2019 16:10

Soups yy the burgundy.
Gin hope you are feeling better, oh well least the bank balance is a bit happier.

dontcallmelen · 06/01/2019 16:14

wearenot hello welcome sounds like you have got yourself some really nice stuff, jumper wise suppose it depends on what you feel more comfortable in either fitted or a looser fit & what you would wear it with, I like my jumpers loose but not to oversized as I’m very short so feel a bit daft.

Ellapaella · 06/01/2019 16:17

@wearenotacodfish welcome to the thread - re the Love jumper did you get the beige or the black? Was contemplating the beige one

GinandGingerBeer · 06/01/2019 16:18

Yes soups! The change in our youngest (bit of a rebel) DS since our eldest went to uni in September has been a right eye opener! Then eldest DS has come back for xmas and I think had his nose pushed out of joint as me DH and ds2 have been bumbling along rather nicely.
They do however remain as thick as thieves I have to say! Which I'm glad about.
Can't believe they're 17 & 18 now. The years have just whizzed by Sad

GinandGingerBeer · 06/01/2019 16:23

The tansy is fitted round the bust, has pockets and gently flares out. It's a bit swingy, but not too voluminous. It's quite thin. Not sure what material it is, like a viscose poly mix maybe.
I kept looking at it thinking, 'hmm, now I could probably get one like this in H&M for £12.99'
But could I? Grin if I feel more human I'll Post a pic tomorrow Smile

wearenotacodfish · 06/01/2019 16:28

@dontcallmelen -Mostly jeans but I have a couple of midi skirts it would go well with too. I think I will try it with a skirt later and see if I need to size up.

I went for black in the love jumper and it's lovely if I hadn't ordered the lightening bolt it would be a definite keeper

Somanyquestions2 · 06/01/2019 16:47

Soy thanks so much for your advice. Think I'll exchange for a 10.

dontcallmelen · 06/01/2019 17:07

wear sounds like a good idea styling it with a few different things.
That’s a shame, but I think a lot of the jumpers do come back in at sale time or keep an on Brand Alley.

SpeckledyHen · 06/01/2019 17:41

Hi Hushistas
Just wondered if anything else gets added to the sale along the way ? I’m interested in the leopard cashmere scarf but don’t want to pay full price for it :)

ilovecherries · 06/01/2019 18:00

Welcome codfish. I have the Scarlet jumper (in grey) from last year, and I did size up in it, it just didn’t feel right at my actual size. I tried it in red this year in my actual size, but sent it back as it just felt too stiff at the right size, if that makes sense.

OP posts:
wearenotacodfish · 06/01/2019 18:04

Ilovecherries I just tried it on with a skirt I already have and it looks good but I think I will order the next size up and decide.

Ellapaella · 06/01/2019 18:54

@SpeckledyHen not sure about that - items already reduced will almost certainly get reduced further but I'm not sure that anything new will go in sale now but I might be wrong on that.

GinandGingerBeer · 06/01/2019 19:14

@Laska2Meryls what's the sizing like on the Oslo? Would it be easy enough to put a stitch in the waist do you think or would that ruin the shape?

Liveinthepresent · 06/01/2019 20:27

Evening everyone - so much chat and shopping again . I love how clothes talk has turned into you all supporting each other with all the big stuff in life too.

To those of you struggling with teens / adult kids struggling my heart goes out to you all. My DCare still small and I think there is truth in the adage about small kids small problems big kids big problems. At least they all have loving supportive parents fighting their corner.

Manic weekend so haven’t done much with my order but I tried it on v quickly last night and I am worryingly pretty happy with it all !

Lightning bolt knit - love it will definitely get worn and is fine enough for spring weather
Iggy oversized shirt - unlike PP ( sorry on phone so can’t scroll to check name ) I love this - just what I need. It does need sleeves pushed up. I might order the black too. Like the shirt effect without buttons cluttering up the look.
Silk trousers not super flattering at the moment but look perfectly acceptable so will style tomorrow and then decide but I really must lose some weight and think they could look great.

Snake skin scarf I love bit just need to reflect on price as it was £££ and I would need it to last a few years really to justify .

Also need to confess Utah I collected a copycat Willoughby dress from m and s today which I will try on tomorrow .

Phew what a lot of new clothes Grin
