knew what you meant Len .. its society pressure also .. you always look fab in your photos .. -I'd like to be dainty but am a born clodhopper--

SoyYo · 05/01/2019 17:43

Ooh that sounds just PERFECT @cherries! What a treat!
Agree with laska melen you have THE most amazing gamine figure, we are all too hard on ourselves so Thank You so much for the lovely comment I’m very down on my looks at the moment and the new sale haul has given me back a little confidence and a kick up the bum to start doing something about losing the 10lb I’ve gained...
Btw we’re off to Spain just after my birthday to celebrate our wedding anniversary and will be back just before DH’s birthday in February (Aquarians both of us) so it’s an incentive to try and lose a little before we go...

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 17:47

@SoyYo it all looks fantastic, I especially love the trousers! Perfect 👌
@Laska2Meryls loving your buys too - the toast jumper is simply gorgeous.

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 17:54

Glad so many of you are going for the Florence skirt - it's better quality than the Meg (I have both) and is quite like the snakey marina in pattern. I wear mine out in the evening quite a lot and people always ask me about it. One of the few things I get asked about. Love it with biker boots and a chunky black jumper for casual but it's lovely with a heeled boot and black Bardot top for evening wear.

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 17:56

And congrats on the 10k cherries! Superb! I've been running for 8 years now and still haven't done 10k, that's such an achievement, the time doesn't matter at all - you must be super proud 😊🌟

dontcallmelen · 05/01/2019 17:59

Cherries that sounds a really lovely re-charging your batteries break.
Laska & Soy 😘 we should all celebrate our uniqueness.
Glad you have a break to look forward to & lovely celebrations always a mood lifter.
I’m hoping we can have a break in March it’s our 41st wedding anniversary on St.Patricks day so would be nice to get away & have some sun, I’m really in pain at the moment have cervical spondylosis it’s really affecting my whole right side I can’t even brush my hair at the moment, so feeling very sorry for myself.

NotAnActualSheep · 05/01/2019 18:06

Oh cherries - it is an amazing achievement, regardless of speed! Seriously, you totally put me to shame... I have never run (since as a slightly overweight teenager we were made to do "cross country" over the flowerbeds in the school playground, wearing PE pants and netball skirt...probably something to do with my lifelong dislike of it as a concept). Every now and again I think I should do some kind of exercise, but I just can't get over the psychological hurdle that "I don't run". And I don't have any health problems, or injuries...I'm just unfit and rather lazy and wobbly.

I've come up with a scam for reordering that toast jumper toast PR people, if you're reading, please just go and have a cuppa for this bit.... If I order those gorgeous green cords at full price, it tips me over the free postage and returns threshold... then I can send back the cords (just having stroked them longingly) and the more expensive jumper under the free returns label. Anything to save a fiver (I have a pathological dislike of paying for delivery/ returns). Of course, my cunning plan may well fail if I try on the cords and love them... but I'm pretty certain they won't suit me cos of the pleated front.. Actually, while I'm at it, I may order the skirt in this picture so I can style the jumper like this and go all land girl chic. So not actually saving anything at all...

tentative3 · 05/01/2019 18:07

Hi, just popping in to ask if anyone has the felted wool curtis dress? The reviews are poor and I'm almost certain it'll look like a sack but I love the colour! I always wanted a green felix but never got one.

Somanyquestions2 · 05/01/2019 18:14

Soy those check trousers and Florence skirt really suit you and the leggings look gorgeous on you. I agree about the zebra joggers, they are really cosy. I got them in a previous promotion and they came in very useful during a cold spell.
I got the leather leggings 20% off in my usual size 12 and am not sure whether to keep them. They don't seem too bad from the front but there are wrinkles on the back of the thigh - do you know if they smooth out with wear?
I see that there are now some other black leather leggings in the sale at £200 which on the website seem a slightly shinier leather, maybe last year's model?

dontcallmelen · 05/01/2019 18:17

Not I like your logic, but the pitfall is ....what if you end up keeping it all😂 yy exercise I went to a convent & swear those Nuns definitely had in for us, wind rain snow half dead from the flu didn’t matter you had to do cross country in baggy brown knickers & tiny little wrap over skirts.

SoyYo · 05/01/2019 18:27

@Somany Thank You! Mine have no deep wrinkles but when I first got them there was a wrinkle near the seam at the front to do with them being folded/packed but when I put them on it disappears...the leather is so soft and pliable that I reckon that’s why it wrinkles easily. It doesn’t bother me because it goes when I wear them (they kind of mold to my leg shape) but if yours are not caused by folding I’d return and exchange as it’s a lot of £ for something not 100% perfect.
I’m not sure if the black ones are old stock...@never bought the black ones a couple of months ago and totally loves them.
Are yours grey too?

dontcallmelen · 05/01/2019 18:34

tentative I know a few posters have the felix & like it not sure about the Curtis though, sure someone will be along shortly who knows what it’s like.

SoyYo · 05/01/2019 18:35

@not GrinGrin I love your cunning plan to avoid postage charges if you keep to it Hmm
I think that skirt is totally gorgeous though and didn’t @huff get one very similar from Toast? I tell you if I hadn’t been so outrageous with my spending I’d be so tempted by that Fairisle jumper. It is a thing of Beauty.

@ella Thanks for your lovely comment

And totally agree cherries is awesome with her running. I did primary school with nuns luckily they made us swim and embroider so that was okay but I did all my secondary school in a British style boarding school (abroad in Argentina) and those sadistic PE teachers made us do so much cross country running it put me off for life.
I do recommend Pilates if you are an exercise hater like me, I’ve kept it up for 3 years joe and that is nothing short of a miracle...it won’t make you fitter but you’ll feel you’re doing something the stretching is super relaxing and the hard core work doesn’t last long between the stretching and makes the wobbly bits less wobbly.

Sorry can’t help with the felted dress...

twosoups1972 · 05/01/2019 18:36

This thread moves fast!

ilovecherries I loved reading about your dd, she sounds lovely. And you must be a great mum to have such a good relationship with her. I have a terrible relationship with my own mother (she has mental health issues) and I'm determined to do better with my own 3 dds.

laska Oslo skirt looks great, I have one that I bought last year.

SoyYo · 05/01/2019 18:40

3 years joe? Confused
I meant now stupid iPhone!

@melen really sorry you’re suffering with pain Flowers please take it easy and rest. Also amazing 41 years marriage! Wow! You really should plan a little getaway to cheer yourself up and look forward to in March.

twosoups1972 · 05/01/2019 19:30

Latest purchases - faux leather leggings from ASOS and Hush drop sleeve shirt. I can’t decide if it looks too big from the side...?

@NotAnActualSheep either Cos or Stories have similar cords to the Toast ones but cheaper.. will see if I can find link.

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 19:34

@twosoups1972 love the leggings! I think the shirt looks nice, goes well will the leggings.

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 19:35

@NotAnActualSheep
Voila

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 19:36

Nicer

Ellapaella · 05/01/2019 19:38

Actually the Toast ones are the nicest. Do quite like the Stories ones though

Somanyquestions2 · 05/01/2019 19:47

Thanks Soy mine are black. The wrinkles aren't deep , more as if I could get rid of them by pulling the waist up but there are no belt loops.I agree they are too £££ to keep if they aren't flattering. I may return them and try the Baukjen ones which come in slightly cheaper with the 25% code they sent me, but those are oos till 18th Jan.
I will have to console myself with the Dylan trousers with the lovely subtle black sparkly stripe which I picked up in JL and/or the Allsaints Helena studded trousers which I have also ordered. They are a bit Rock 'n 'Roll too so I wonder if they would interest you. (sorry shouldn't enable). I certainly need to return a lot of things before my cc bill is due!
Cherries that's so impressive! Your determination in the face of all you've had to deal with is really inspirational. I'm another person who was put off running by experiences at school and generally keep to Pilates nowadays so am doubly impressed.

twosoups1972 · 05/01/2019 19:58

And another well done to cherries from me. I've only done one run myself over the Xmas holidays, really must get back to it.

This thread is a lovely distraction from all the worries I have lately - especially about dd1 who is depressed but I can't get to the bottom of it Sad It's the worst thing ever when your child is unhappy.

ilovecherries · 05/01/2019 20:03

You are all lovely. Mwah 💋. And stylish. And very human :)

not, I had a similar cunning plan re Toast delivery, but I’d have to buy something horrible or I would end up keeping it.

Soups sorry to hear your dd is still struggling, any joy with the GP (apologies if that is an intrusive question & ignore me) I had a similar phase with my Ds, he did have some counselling which did help a lot.
I hope things improve for you all soon💐
