Well, I just returned everything I ordered. I’ve already paid my cc Bill this month, with nearly everything I already bought on it, so when everything returns I will have a healthy credit on my card and in PayPal. Ready for the next spend :).

@Huff, jumper looks great though.
@Laska - I quite like the Marsden boots but they do look like expedition boots so would feel a bit Blush wearing them. Also the same with the other boots -The Irwell. They just look like hiking/hillwalking boots and my dh wears these all the time so would feel weird to wear.
I absolutely love the Bingley boots and love them more than what I thought but i really wanted the Alford ones and they still had plenty in stock the day before the 20% ended. Then on the day before the sale they sold out!!! I was gutted. Kept looking yesterday to see if they were back in stock but nothing. Then by chance had the page open on my laptop and bingo - a pair in a size 6 appeared. Again, I dont need any boots!! Will need to return things though but will wait until i see what the leather skirt and Alford boots look like.

OK... need to come back to the other posts, but please can I have your opinions on these two dresses, lovely ladies? I only need one (well, I don't even need that, frankly). The blue flowery one is the hush one...it's more informal and quite nice, but a bit meh? Would be better in the spring with bare legs I think, but I'm not very good with legs.... The black bird one I do like the shape of, but is probably more a work dress. (Ignore trainers!)

In the other bits, I'm not 100% sure about the Lola scarf. It's a bit dark though v v cosy. I like the skinny silk one though. Burgundy T is good, though not as bright as expected. Not keen on the crepe joggers and unsure on the Winona trousers. They are lovely material, but not sure the style is me. Prob need to style differently...but also, I'm working, allegedly...

Also, this is my today outfit... (cardigan my gran knitted me when I was about 13!)

Ah @never they do look fab the skinny jeans and the side stripe is an unusual and nice style touch. Bargain well done on grabbing before they went ooo
@laska I’m a size 5 and love the BA trainers and if I wasn’t spending so much I’d be tempted
@Huff the jumper looks good on you (sorry!) but ultimately you need to be 100% happy so if it doesn’t feel right return and restore the old 😇

NotAnActualSheep · 04/01/2019 13:27

I do like the snow boots laska - but I would need them to be actually warm and waterproof for that money! They probably would be, but one of the reviewers seems to doubt it. they look soooo warm though, and have been styled really nicely on the website Envy

Fab fab fab trainers missbobbins. No help though, Im afraid!

fudge haha! I know what you mean...I was like that with the faux leather leggings a couple of months back. Had absolutely no desire for them - then all of a sudden ended up ordering 3 to try off the back of this thread... (turns out the reason I had no desire for them was because i would look awful in them - but hey...)

huff it is a gorgeous looking jumper, and really suits you (though most things do i think!) - I love it with the denim shirt. But, yes, if you aren't totally sure (and even if it was cheap...) there isn't any point keeping.

cherries you are so virtuous Halo! takes note: be more like cherries

SoyYo · 04/01/2019 13:33

@not I love both dresses on you! You really have the right shape for them both and as they’re so different could you possibly have a place for both in your life? (Work and Play)
The trousers are a nay for me, they are a bit meh on you tbh and I agree the Lola scarf is a bit dark but will it work with your wardrobe as it looks a really good size and drapy weight as does the silk skinny one (again different styles for different occasions)
That jumper! Sad it doesn’t look old at all so how come Shock...and finally the T is nice is a non remarkable nice and useful kind of way.
Hope this helps but honestly the dresses are my favourites on you from your latest haul

SoyYo · 04/01/2019 13:34

I don’t know why there’s a sad face next to your granny jumper...I meant this Smile

Huffthepuff · 04/01/2019 13:37

Ooh I like both dresses on you Not! The bird one particularly is super flattering. You look great in both! I know what you mean about work vs casual although I think the bird dress could be made casual with a slim fitting denim jacket (when the weather improves obvs)

NotAnActualSheep · 04/01/2019 14:42

Thanks soy and huff! I'm going to have a think over the weekend -plus the toast jumper is arriving at some point and i seriously can't keep everything... Wink. Will have a go un-working the bird one too... (it's this one so good value - and the model has styled it with bare legs etc so that could work not convinced by the silver boots though ). A denim jacket sounds like a great idea (or a leather one). I still need to get out of buying work stuff, cos I really don't use it - just me 'n' my slippers usually.

Actually, the cardigan was a replacement for that teenage one, a few years later. I did literally wear the first one to death (it had kind of ombre sleeves at the end, it had got so filthy) so she knitted this one too. But it wasn't quite as good (different wool i think), so even when I had this one, I still wore the old one. This one just never really got worn (it isn't quite as cosy and didn't hang quite as nicely and didn't smell the same ) until my mum literally had to prise the old one out of my hands (well, not literally, but you get the idea). This one does actually now look old close up - but has never had the intensity of use...and then I went off it for about 20 years until the past couple of years. I'm a bit scared something happens to it now! (Though it does survive washing Like A Boss...something in those early-90s wool mixes that makes them indestructible).

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2019 15:56

I like both dresses Not, the bird one especially.

Well Hush parcel came and quite frankly pretty much a disappointment. Was delivered 2.15 and back in the post office by 2.50!!

I kept the Lola scarf..Great colours for me and an absolute bargain at £20 and although the wool isnt quite as soft as i'd hoped , but ill wash it before wearing.. I also kept the burgundy slub T also a bargain at £15.
and thats it.

So the leggings in 12.....great colour and fitted well around the legs , with only slight wrinkles once I had tucked them up to be the correct length.. But HUGE on the bum and waist on me ! Theres a reason they were in the sale .. and that must be it,they must have been sized incorrectly I reckon because I am definitely not at my lightest by a long way , bum was baggy and falling down on me even standing up . Shame, I really wanted to love them ..

Tiger scarf , nice but not £35 nice given that i have the red Zebra scarf . Zebra was bought for me as a Christmas present and would have been full price) . If it was reduced further I might give it another go .

Black Skinny bailey Jeans ( also in 12) were really tiny on me!

RedFlower PJ trousers in M were nice, but I didnt think I'd wear them much in the end (I might try for the PJ set if one comes back in my size ) ..

Grey Zebra Star jumper.. was just a bit Meh really , quite boring looking I thought

So of all that I have only spent £35!! Halo

Still waiting for the Toast jumper though.. (and I'm not ordering those boots btw)

Ellapaella · 04/01/2019 16:04

Not I'm going to go against the grain here and while both dresses are lovely I prefer the Second one (which I think is the Hush one? The paler blue dress). I think that with some biker boots would look fab, and also your cream cardigan would give it a feel of Keira Knightly/Sienna Miller in that film about Dylan Thomas (can't remember the name sorry).
If you can keep both then you should but if it's a choice then personally I'd go for the second one, looks great, very flattering and with the right footwear will be perfect.

Ellapaella · 04/01/2019 16:09

Here Not. Obviously not with wellies and wrinkly brown tights, plaques and biker boots would be a better look!
Although Sienna Miller carries off Nora Batty tights like no one else can.

Opaques not plaques! 😉

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2019 16:24

Oslo Skirt not arrived yet ether..

Ellapaella · 04/01/2019 16:36

Oh sad news - my DM's came, way too narrow! Will have to go to the shop to try on different pairs and styles.

NotAnActualSheep · 04/01/2019 17:08

Thanks Ella and Laska. I think if I can channel either of those two I'll be doing very well indeed! (Though after Christmas, I reckon both of them would fit into one of me...). I do like that chunky knit/ flowery dress thing though. Just need the wellies Grin. Also, how have I not seen that film?!

What a shame about the DMs Ella, and the leggings Laska. Are you going to be fighting cherries for the smaller size now?! And pity about the somewhat uninspiring haul. Though at least it means you don't have to struggle to keep your Halo nice and shiny...

SoyYo · 04/01/2019 17:13

I’ve been caught up in pesky work.
First Hush sale parcel with
Boatneck cashmere black jumper=❤️ Fabulous and light, keeping
Starry balloon shirt which actually doesn’t look that bad. DH was a bit meh about it but I think I like it a lot...tomorrow with better light I’ll take pics so you can give me honest opinions on whether to keep.
Kakhi frayed shirt = soft great great kakhi shade but it is HUGE in a 12 not sure if I should size down or it’s “meant” to be that big. Certainly could fit nearly 2 of soy in it but it is drapey so again will post pic tomorrow
And the check trousers no chance to try because I got distracted by work

@laska how weird on the burgundy leggings! My 12 grey ones fit perfectly but maybe that’s because I’m very very fat? Confused in any case you’re now wealthier for returning them and shame the other jeans were a fail but you never know till you try

@ella I tend to agree with you on the Hush dress on not it’s a difficult choice but I agree it has the edge and those vintage pics illustrate it perfectly. I’m ever so sorry about your DM’s 😢 you’ve been looking forward to them for ages...really hope you find good alternatives soon

Ellapaella · 04/01/2019 17:18

@NotAnActualSheep film is called 'Edge of Love' - you must watch it, it's great, if only for the wonderful wardrobes of sienna and Kiera! In fact this has inspired my outfit if the day for tomorrow - I'll be teaming my Sainsbury's star dress (bought back in November) with either my pink chunky cardigan from last Jan Sales or a chunky knit cream one that I've had for years.

@SoyYo thanks for your commiserations on DM's - am sad. The Pascals were also too narrow. May have to try vegan ones.

What's everyone outfits today? I'm wearing old Boden sparkly jumper and new coated jeans. Or at least I was - am just about to get my joggers on and go for a quick run.

SoyYo · 04/01/2019 17:25

@ella not wearing anything remotely inspiring (black M&S v neck long jumper with M&S leopard leggings and hush slippers...) you’re making me feel guilty I’ve not done my brisk walk today.
Yes the Vegan DM’s I have fit my wide kipperfeet fine so they will fit you but I do hope you find some leather ones as that’s what you really hankered after. On the plus side the vegan ones are super soft and waterproof Wink

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2019 17:31

Doubt it Soy for your comfort (and my shame) I have just measured my Hips 38.5 and waist (I'm not telling....Blush ), oh Ok , 35.5 (eek! but tbf I am only ever about 36/ 33 at thinnest 10st ) I have quite a big frame

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2019 17:34

I am wearing a pair of black/ grey dyed Amies (what else? I have so many pairs now!!! and this is why I dont need any joggers ,etc) . Gap spacedye grey scoop with blush pink H&M vest under (my year old thing) and very well battered Accessorize beaded flip flops.. (Classy and elegant!! Grin)

Ellapaella · 04/01/2019 17:37

Sounds comfy though laska! I will be straight back into my PJ's as soon as run and shower is done. I'm not being too virtuous as it's curry night for me tonight, also will be having a wee drink as I've been good and done all my dry days since NYE.

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2019 17:43

We are having curry also . h/m with venison (christmas left overs) and tomato.onion/peppers/coconut, and roasted cauli.. ( DH will have rice and nan also) .. but I am having some Wine but giving up after the weekend again
