Is this jumper/tunic too mumsy?

DH says it is, and not 'London' enough. I thought it would be nice for casual wear. Late 30s, am a mum!

I like the front, but not the back. Would wear only at home.

JamieFraser · 31/12/2018 17:53

This is when I'm glad dh doesn't give a shit what I wear.

Peoniesandcats · 31/12/2018 17:53

I like it too!

SleepingStandingUp · 31/12/2018 18:22

How sofidticated do you need to be to push Diogenes on the swings or take Persephone to feed the ducks? Or sit in Costa with a good book or round the house watching House. I mean, it's a jumper dress basically, if it's warm, comfy and you feel fine in it, what else do you need? DH sounds like he disapproves because you Mum bought it you, you've moved away fro m that two bit town and now you're in London who should look different. Corncobs to him.

DaffydownClock · 31/12/2018 18:56

Thankfully my DH refrains from making obscure comments, just wtf is your DH talking about?

Haggisfish · 31/12/2018 18:58

If you want to give it away, I’m looking for a cosy jumper and would happily take it off you! Grin I think it looks lovely.

LovesLaboursLost · 31/12/2018 19:01

A mum in your home region used as a criticism? So he doesn’t like women or people from where you come from. I don’t know about the jumper, but I think he sounds a little bit too ‘London’ for me.

Villanelley · 31/12/2018 19:07

The jumper is fine, your snobby husband however...

TornFromTheInside · 31/12/2018 19:09

Some of the comments on here are just not Mumsnet enough!

runs off

Spudlet · 31/12/2018 19:16

You've posted about your DH before, I think... and his views on the au pair? Was that you? (Apologies if I'm confusing you with someone else).

If it was indeed you - I don't think that man is a person whose opinion is worth bothering about.

katekat383 · 31/12/2018 19:25

Is your OH a fashion designer?Hmm

SirBobblyofSock · 31/12/2018 19:31

If I were you I'd keep the jumper and get rid of the husband.

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 19:39

Spudlet yes, that's me!

Your husband is an utter prick going by your other threads so I'd probably wear it just because he doesn't like it if I were you.

museumum · 31/12/2018 19:46

I really like that on you. I’m short with big boobs and would kill to be able to wear chunky knitwear to slouch about in. It looks lovely to me for a Sunday walk and pub lunch.

SheldonandPenny · 31/12/2018 19:47

You have a great figure! It's so MN to disagree with a dp if they comment that they don't like an outfit. Of course it's true that if you like it, you should ignore/stuff his opinion. However this tunic is not flattering on you, although I suspect you could carry off most things. This grey suits Snow White or Nicole Kidman at her more frosty but you look warmer toned. It's meh-ok but not good.

Justmuddlingalong · 31/12/2018 19:53

I'm wearing a fleece hoodie over a long sleeved t shirt. And I couldn't give a shiny, Scottish shit wether or not it's a geographically acceptable outfit.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 31/12/2018 19:55

I think it looks lovely! Where’s it from?

That's a matter of opinion. I like it.
If someone wears black, folks will say white is better (and vice versa).

Yorkshireswithallroasts · 31/12/2018 19:56

I like it, where's it from??

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/12/2018 20:01

I really like the front and the back, it looks great for a casual outfit.

Redken24 · 31/12/2018 20:03

I like it too - I'd wear with leopard print jeans and some nice shoes
Was it from macys you said?

Ifyouthinkiwillsleepyoudream · 31/12/2018 20:12

I like it. Bit mumsy but I don't think that's a bad thing! you could wear it with leather-type leggings/jeans for an edge?

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 20:29

That's it!
