DH says it is, and not 'London' enough. I thought it would be nice for casual wear. Late 30s, am a mum!

Oh, forgot to say, I am child free, so my opinion is completely irrelevant.

MollyHuaCha · 31/12/2018 17:22

I like it but I think you need a size smaller.

WhatsUpHun · 31/12/2018 17:23

i like the front, not the back, no idea what he means

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 17:24

Ha, i don't strive to look like a mum. I mentioned that since it's the descriptor DH used.

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 17:24

Or not look like a mum. It's not a very nice criticism really.

This is ridiculous! Do you like the bloody thing or not!?

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 17:27

I like it but it's too big. Probably wouldn't enjoy wearing it, even in a smaller size, after hearing DH's opinion.

I really like it, I’m mid twenties and from the East Midlands now living on the welsh boarder so have no interest in London fashion so my opinion is probably irrelevant 😂 I agree with other posters that it is quite big on you which is making the back not very flattering.

If I had a partner and he said that to me I’d tell him to fuck off.

AssassinatedBeauty · 31/12/2018 17:29

Do you get a similar veto on his clothing choice? If you said he looked dadsy would that put him off wearing something?

sparklefarts · 31/12/2018 17:29

What the absolute fuck is 'not London enough'
?!?!

MarshaBradyo · 31/12/2018 17:32

No it’s not great you can do better with something else

sparklefarts · 31/12/2018 17:32

'Not London enough'
'Not sophisticated enough'
'My non London friend'

What the actually fuck am I reading?!?!

This is about a JUMPER

I am from London and live outside of London and I have no idea how the fuck LONDON has anything to do with this?

tubspreciousthings · 31/12/2018 17:37

I like it. Where's it from?

RiverTam · 31/12/2018 17:38

Born-and-bred Londoner here, I know plenty of people who'd wear that. If you like it, keep it!

TornFromTheInside · 31/12/2018 17:39

Wear what you feel good in.
One of the amazing things about London is that you're so anonymous, nobody gives a damn what you're wearing - and rightly so.

Branleuse · 31/12/2018 17:41

I like it, and if my dp started saying things like that, i think id tell him to fuck off. Its nice its casual, its warm, and it looks good.

Does he always tell you how to dress? What on earth is he expecting?

SwedishEdith · 31/12/2018 17:42

I don't like the back.
I don't like the colour.
I don't like man-made fibres.
I'm a non-London mother.

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 17:43

By way of background: DH is a bit of a dick, but sometimes his critical comments have some validity. It was my fault for asking him...

I have 3 female relatives in their 30's and 40's who all live in central London, I'm not sure what looking 'London' is meant to be as they all wear and buy the same kind of clothes/labels as me and I live in the North East of England - Can someone explain what looking 'London' is?

The top looks nice on you OP - it's a fairly standard top, not going to set the world on fire but also perfectly nice for wearing day to day with leggings or skinny jeans .

Branleuse · 31/12/2018 17:43

actually, im not as keen on the back, but i still think its fine. Im just not into details like that

DreamsofJacaranda · 31/12/2018 17:44

I’d be curious to see the great arbiter of taste that you’re married to Hmm Not London enough Grin

Having said that, it’s too big for you and I don’t like the back.

SwedishEdith · 31/12/2018 17:44

But whether to keep it should have nothing to do with your husband's ludicrous opinions.

dellacucina · 31/12/2018 17:49

tubspreciousthings Macy's...

SantasBassoon · 31/12/2018 17:49

It's not a Pearly Queen outfit, so I agree it's not very London. It's ok for casual wear, a bit big but it would probably shrink a bit in the wash.

FickleFingers · 31/12/2018 17:50

It looks like a comfortable casual jumper to me, looks nice and slouchy on you!
