Also have a good wardrobe clear out

I have treated myself to new foundation and I'm about to go online shopping for new clothes again. I have been crappy with my skincare this week and even slept in my make up Blush

I am also trying to work in a hair appointment for a wash, trim and then olaplex every 8 weeks. We are trying to do the house up atm and have so much stuff to buy and decorate etc etc but I'm hoping I can convince DH that this is important Wink or I'll just book it and tell him the money was spent on food shopping. Probably will end up doing the latterBlush

Interesting to see that a few people are thinking about a smaller wardrobe, because I've been doing the same. Smaller number of outfits but better ones (if that makes sense).

Hair appointment next week, I always book the next one before I leave otherwise I won't get round to it.

Wearing makeup more often as well.

I haven't done much exercise yet, need to work on that bit. Or nail varnish but have been filing nails.

HettyB · 19/01/2019 20:20

I’m on a roll this week - had my hair cut and coloured earlier in the week and today I had a facial, leg wax and got my nails done. I also bought a few bits from the beauty salon so I can improve my skincare regime as getting older and two little ones have left me with an increasing number of wrinkles and dark circles!

I think my challenge for the coming week will be to implement a better skincare regime and also to drink more water - I’m dreadful at it!

LardLizard · 19/01/2019 21:05

Hettyb well done you have really gone for it this week !

Now I just have to keep it up for the remaining 49 weeks of the year!

I've nearly finished invisalign teeth straightening and then will have them whitened.

Health hasn't been good unfortunately so I have mainly been wearing lounge wear. Also have been concentrating on comfy clothes rather than fitted clothes so I actually want to wear them. I have 2 good coats now. Underwear refreshed including crop tops for lounging- so comfy! Not stylish but never mind.
Next I need some hoop earrings I can sleep in so I actually wear them.

Hi everyone, hope there's room for one more. I'm giving myself an overhaul too. Reading this thread is encouraging me to keep going. So this is what I'm doing. It's bloody hard work too:

Diet:1300cals a day on MFP day 7so far no weight loss
Exercise: 10000 steps a day while my body adjusts to the hunger. 15000 next week and I've got a walk later with a friend.

Grooming: nails and eyebrows on the list this week. Will do nails at home.

Skincare. Using up all my products which are basically an Obagi dupe. I had a mild peel a few weeks ago and that has kickstarted me. Also rapidlash is being slapped on

Teeth whitening needs topping up

Hair: I'm pretty sorted with my hair routine but need to book some appointments to coincide with a few parties.

Wardrobe: I have cleared out some tatty stuff but refuse to buy anymore as if I lose the weight I put on last year, I will basically have a whole new set of clothes that I adore that's already in the wardrobe.

There are lots of other little things that I've done too. I've untangled all my jewellery so I'm going to enjoying wearing some pretty things and I've sorted and streamlined my make up too.

I've put lots of things on eBay to find my makeover too so might book a microdermabrasion if I reach a mini weight loss goal.

Keep at it everyone.

Evening all,

Ok so this week I did olaplex had a facial, went to the gym, and had a green tea each day 👏
I didn’t get my smear booked so that’s definitely on next weeks list to do...

So here we go...

  1. book smear
  2. olaplex on Tuesday
  3. go to the gym twice.
  4. drink green tea.
  5. get eyebrows waxed/threaded.
  6. order pixiglow toner thingy.
  7. take omega oil vitamins daily.

My makeover is going ok except I brought a pair of jeans ( good job they were only £10 in sale) and soon discovered they are too big. Moved button and still too big. Ok under clothes, well coat but it's the slipping down P me off. I tend to do this sort of thing, buy jeans too big. Got fed up with jeggings etc because of baggy knees and felt like Max Wall, remember him? Doing things in a rush don't help and I desperately needed new trousers.

winterisstillcoming · 24/01/2019 16:56

Oh no @EngagedAgain. Can you shrink them on the wash or tumble dryer? Would be a shame to waste them even if they were a bargain.

EngagedAgain · 24/01/2019 18:19

Winter, thank you. I don't have a tumble drier, but I could try the wash thing if you think it'll work. Thing is they mixed fabric with stretch. What I'd really like is jeans how they used to be 100% cotton! Or mainly cotton, so shall next time look for those. Too much give in the ones I brought.

winterisstillcoming · 24/01/2019 18:50

Put them in on their own at 90 degrees but they might lose colour. I've never done it before but worth a google.

Habadabadoo · 24/01/2019 19:29

Hi can I join?
I sorted out my teeth last year. Had front caps put on and whitened. I smile so much more now and much happier meeting new people! I literally feel like they sparkle (but not embarrassingly!) Apart from my hair I think it's the best thing I've done!
I'm booked in to have my hair done this weekend - I always leave it a bit longer than I should between apps so it's not looking great at the moment. It costs so much to have it highlighted around here.
I need to sort out my wardrobe so hopefully get some tips on here. I've tried following people on Instagram to get ideas but not found it works!

Everyone is welcome,
I’m doing ok, managing to keep it up
Going to give myself a pedicure tonight

To people using olaplax at home, do you number three ? Is it basically conditioner ? And where do you buy it ? Amazon ?

Inliverpool1 · 24/01/2019 20:54

Try and get olaplex number 2 off your hairdresser then you know it’s genuine and it’s more effective.

midlifecrisis2018 · 24/01/2019 22:19

Habad how do you get front cars put on? What do you ask for abc how much does it cost? Is that private?

EngagedAgain · 25/01/2019 05:40

Winter, thanks will try that. What I'm really looking for in the way of jeans is high waisted, that are slim leg but not clingy so don't get the baggy knees. These ones I got are almost right, the waist is med rise I think but come up nearly as high as I like. A size smaller would have been ok, but were the last pair. They have the waist type sizing like men's and 2" smaller would have been good. Getting nearer my goal of the perfect jeans!

Habadabadoo · 25/01/2019 18:54

@midlifecrisis2018 I had to go private to have my front four top teeth capped. My real ones had worn away so my nhs dentist kept using white filling to cover them over and reconstruct some length in them. But they kept getting chipped and discoloured. I have to pay the nhs fee so it was costing me some money each time anyway.
I found a really good private dentist - award winning - as if I was going to spend a couple of thousand I wanted to trust the dentist. So for the cost of a good holiday I get to look at my lovely teeth everyday that should last a lot longer than a holiday would have Grin

EngagedAgain · 25/01/2019 21:39

My teeth are not too bad but I so envy people with a really good set of teeth and a smile that shows them off. Anyway I digress! As I don't have much luck with jeans I'm thinking about getting into leggings, and not having such great legs now wearing very long tops/shirts or dresses over. The other thing I like is comfort (bad, very bad!) The beginning of the slippery slope 🤔

SassitudeandSparkle · 31/01/2019 15:46

How are we all doing, I still haven't varnished my fingernails but keep a nail file in the car so when I am sitting around waiting for DD I can keep them neat. Putting 8 hour cream on my nails and cuticles most nights which makes them look surprisingly good (they must be really dry!).

8 hour cream is good for lips as well, although I admit the smell of the stuff is an acquired taste.

Are we all braced for the cold weather Grin

NamedyChangedy · 31/01/2019 18:00

I'm still working on building up my wardrobe again after an extreme clear out. It's been an interesting exercise, only having a few items. I invested in coats first so luckily I now have a couple that I love and are keeping me warm at the moment. My next task is also to find the perfect pair of jeans as for the first time in my adult life I have none at all. For years I wore a style from Gap that seems to have been discontinued - what a shock!
