I’m going to try and make a more consistent effort
Also have a good wardrobe clear out

Yes! Continuing with my weight loss and growing out my bleached and damaged hair (one full year now). Had my brows microbladed and have my nails painted and put on lipstick regularly. Makes me look so much better.

Extras to add for 2019 is keep up with my running and to have a pamper session every weekend with face mask, hair treatment etc

Easilyflattered · 30/12/2018 16:27

Vanilla, I am also a diet coke addict and need to get a grip. Apparently it's terrible for belly fat, which I have a lot of.

I also need to kick my wine habit and find another way to unwind instead.

I need to lose about 4 st.

As I type I'm halfway through a wardrobe sort out. I wear a lot of dark colours, although I think I'm meant to with my colouring. I can currently wear about 10% of the clothing I own due to weight gain. I have a lot of stuff, but a lot is cheap, and is duplicates of the same stuff over and over. I need to focus on quality, but think I might go for quality accessories until weight is nearer target

This summer, I read 'The Curated Closet' by Anuschka Rees, which I found incredibly detailed and helpful for thinking about what I wanted my style to be, and what clothes made me feel good. She also has some really good articles on this website: anuschkarees.com/

NooMe · 31/12/2018 11:37

I need to join. Weight and clothes need sorting.

Thisismyhappyface · 31/12/2018 11:50

@SuzeD29 how do you like your eyebrows now? I'm booked in for microblading in February, but a bit nervous!

legolammb · 31/12/2018 17:16

Yes! And I have a major life event coming up in 2019 that I want to look good for. I'm determined to:

  • Treat my skin properly - cleanse, tone and moisturise each day
  • More makeup on a weekday - concealer, powder, blusher, mascara and eyeliner
  • Buy some more nice work tops and dresses
  • Go back to Slimming World and lose a couple of stone
  • Gym 3x per week
VanillaSugarCookies · 31/12/2018 19:14

I have ordered some new clothing bits and they're all really dressy and OTT. I'm going to wear them every day and be that person who is always overdressed.

Teaistheanswer · 31/12/2018 19:52

@vanillasugarcookies that sounds great! My DD buys clothes she likes and wears them whenever she wants to regardless of how dressy. My dressy stuff sits in my wardrobe going out of fashion! Grin

Thisismyhappyface · 31/12/2018 20:11

vanilla I love the sound of that!

Moominfan · 31/12/2018 20:14

I'm going to start wearing eyeliner. That is my New Years goals

Teaistheanswer · 01/01/2019 14:30

How is everybody doing?
I'm almost through my bottle of water! Grin

covetingthepreciousthings · 01/01/2019 14:39

Yes I'm wanting to try do this.

Haven't had my hair cut in about 2 years or plucked my eyebrows in about a year Blush

Also fallen into wearing a 'mum uniform' every day I'm not at work, I just wear the same jeans / jumper or dungarees & Breton top.

Would like to start slimming world again too..

Liz38 · 01/01/2019 15:18

Me too. Over the last year with inspiration from here I've changed my hair colour, lost 3/4 of a stone (1/4 still to go), rethought my skin care and revamped my make up. Wardrobe and exercise still need attending to, wardrobe is going to be slow due to budget restrictions and exercise is a challenge because I'm a lazy arse. I'm going to try to do something, even if it's just 10 minutes yoga stretches, every day... We'll see how that goes!

MsForestier · 01/01/2019 15:39

Bought the Curated Closet book - thanks for the recommendation. Had a stressful year. Need to look after myself.

VanillaSugarCookies · 01/01/2019 18:15

Did my full skincare routine this morning and I'm actually excited to do it again tonight.

While I was putting make up on this morning DH asked me where I was going. At first I was a bit insulted but I was happier than I should have been when I replied 'just downstairs' Grin

Snowdrop30 · 01/01/2019 22:17

Me! Need to lose a stone, get fitter, and gradually build up a wardrobe I actually like.

RedPandaMama · 01/01/2019 22:23

I'm determined to lose weight this year. Not going to buy any clothes until 6 months into the year (unless absolutely essential e.g. work stuff) and then buy stuff hopefully 2 sizes smaller.

I'm really into vintage clothes and have never looked put together in my life but I think it kind of works on me. But the last two years since I had DD I've been a size 18 and very few things fit me. Ideally will be a size 12 at the end of the year (tall, hourglass, big boobs so never gonna be very slim) so can fit into most things.

Karcheer · 01/01/2019 22:30

Hello can I join?
I’m looking to overhaul my whole life, I’m fed up with how I look, what I eat, don’t exercise, want to change my job etc I’d also like to travel more, go out more, do things rather than watch tv!
Felt very down towards the end of 2018 and I’m fed up with feeling sad.

Greatdomestic1 · 02/01/2019 11:50

Happy new year all. Can I join you all p!ease?

I had a hysterectomy earlier in the year and have been a bit bleug since then. Well before then too.

I would ideally want to
lose up to a stone
cut out caffeine
Get at least 8 hours sleep per night
Walk the dog twice a day
Regular yoga.

There are heaps more things I should do but at least this is a start.

Spam88 · 02/01/2019 19:17

So not a good start to trying to look more put together - back in work today and absolutely no idea where my hairbrush is (I'm blaming the toddler).

Moominfan · 02/01/2019 20:10

Oiled my hair before I wash it for second time this week! I've got dry curly hair so normally 1-2 is enough. Got a few bits from body shop today to treat myself.

Karcheer · 02/01/2019 22:53

I’ve started using an aveda shampoo and conditioner and noticed by the end of the day my face and hair feels really oily, I also have a few of those boil like spots on my face.

ProjectGainsborough · 02/01/2019 23:06

Can I join please!

Have been culling wardrobe so happy with that, but need to focus on the canvas (ie me!)

I would like to:

Drink 2l water daily
Do the clever guts diet again - wheat found me over Xmas Sad
Persevere with retinoids - it’s a spotty, flaky slog, but hoping I will have glowing skin soon
Just downloaded a body weight training app so will do that daily

Think that’s enough to be getting on with Grin

LardLizard · 03/01/2019 00:09

Everyone is welcome to join !
I’m planning on giving myself a hair colour spray tan eyebrow tint n shape at the weekend for my start of the glam on Monday
I’ve done a pedicure that will last ages
And a manicure
One nail chipped already but will be fixed in the am
next tasks sort wardrobe and accessories
Plus gofor a counter makeover
Maybe Charlotte tilbury

Thanks for the link to /anuschkarees
Very good articles on there, does make sense to make a list of what colours and styles you like and don’t like to clarify things in your mind
