I’m going to try and make a more consistent effort
Also have a good wardrobe clear out

I’m in! Started in September but fell off the wagon.

I need to eat better- less crap
Gym at least twice a week
Skincare twice a day
Nail- nail nurse and keep tidy
Haircut!

Then move onto clothes- have been looking at having my colours done.

halfwitpicker · 11/01/2019 12:29

Good idea for a thread.

I really need to have a full day off work to tackle my wardrobe. I plan to get it all out and be ruthless about keeping /donating stuff.

Last count I had something like 40 odd pairs of trousers /jeans Shock

ProjectGainsborough · 11/01/2019 20:45

How’s everyone going? I’ve been persevering with the water and retinol. My face is still flaky and dry but I noticed today that my pigmentation is fading!

Pretty much completely given up on the excercise app, but have been active and to the gym so not feeling too bad.

Karcheer · 11/01/2019 21:36

I can’t actu afford a facial this month so will have to wait till next.

I really want to sort my wardrobe out, very tempted to follow the Marie condo thing, but I think that nothing in my wardrobe will bring me joy... then what do I do?

ProjectGainsborough · 11/01/2019 21:55

@Karcheer would you be interested in doing a project 333? Loads of advice if you google it (and if it’s your kind of thing).

I do it every season and I find having whittled my wardrobe down makes getting dressed much easier without (much!) shopping for new items.

NamedyChangedy · 11/01/2019 22:04

I keep meaning to re-whiten my teeth as they need it now, after a few years.

I've also hired a stylist who will put together outfits so my fashion illiteracy doesn't show me up.

And 2019 is the year for Botox, sadly. I never thought I'd be the sort of person to go for it but I find myself deeply uncomfortable with the increasingly prominent signs of ageing! Angry

Queenofthedrivensnow · 11/01/2019 22:25

Can I join? My theme for 2019 has to be self investment!

VanillaSugarCookies · 12/01/2019 01:31

My self care today was a lovely long (child free) walk and a catch up with a friend.

I'm now going to take off my make up and get to bed. I've been awake for 20 and a half hours so I'm hoping my insomnia doesn't kick in when I try to sleep....

openupmyeagereyes · 12/01/2019 17:06

Cladwell is a good app for managing your wardrobe and coming up with different outfit ideas. I think it’s subscription based but I got it on a free promotion last year so they may do that again. You can select items the same/similar to those in your wardrobe and it will give you different outfit combinations for each item. You can also log how often you wear different outfits. I’m sure there are other similar apps too.

Notadogslife · 12/01/2019 17:50

And me please! Suddenly feeling very grey, tired and middle aged. I have neglected myself somewhat in recent years as I'm always looking after everyone else. But this year I want to change things and not feel guilty.

I need to find a dentist and sort my chilled tooth.
See my GP about some ongoing issues I've been ignoring.
Book a smear.
Drink more water.
Eat more fruit and veg.
Take vitamin D daily.
Do C25K and then join a running club.
Start a skin care regime. Not just washing my face in the shower in the morning.
Look after my nails.
Get my hair sorted - a good cut and either highlights or go brunette (currently very outgrown highlights and split ends).
Buy some nice clothes.

That's rather a lot but will keep me busy. Will be good to have this thread to get ideas and stay motivated. I fancy the idea of having my teeth whitened.

HettyB · 12/01/2019 18:37

So I think I’ve refined my wish-list. I’m going to:

  • get my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted regularly. Maybe try LVL lashes.
  • lose that stubborn half stone that’s hanging around
  • cull the sad old clothes from my wardrobe and invest in some better quality things that I can work into some staple outfits
  • do something about my hair. I saw a photo of myself today and it was awful. I’ll be ringing the hairdresser first thing Monday to book a consultation
  • make an effort to paint my nails or get manicures when time and money allow
  • drink more water. Lots more water!
  • maybe get my teeth whitened. As a minimum up the flossing to daily
Queenofthedrivensnow · 12/01/2019 19:10

@HettyB culling sad old clothes is always on my list!

LardLizard · 13/01/2019 12:04

Everyone welcome
How is everyone doing ?

Well I spent almost 100 pounds in boots yesterday buying skincare
Trying the no7 line corrector at 38 quid a pop and can see a difference after one over night application !
Actually a bit shocked

Managed to do some walking n swimming this week but the food still needs improvement

Also planing on having sort through accessories too

To all the people thinking of whitening their teeth
What are you thinking of using ?

OP posts:
Notadogslife · 13/01/2019 13:32

Results after only one application sounds good!

I started using the No7 protect and perfect gift set I got for Christmas last night. Including microdermabrasion which I've never used before. It made my skin feel nice. I've also filed my nails (I normally just cut them) and booked an appointment with a dentist. And charged my fit bit ready to start c25k.

Karcheer · 13/01/2019 19:29

Evening ladies.

Amazing to see results straight away! I wonder what changes you’ll see after a week.

I have used crest whitening strips before, they were good, but I’ve run out now I think...

I’m keeping things simple, so this week I’m going do the at home olaplex thing on Tuesday night, my plan is to put it in my hair before bed and sleep in it.
I really want to book in a facial, I’m forever being sensible so I think I might just do it this week if I can get booked in.
I’d like to get my Botox redone, so might see if I can book that in for next week...

Diet wise I’m going to drink a cup of green tea a day.

I’m going to finally get to the gym once this week.

I’m also need to book my smear @notadogslife they sent me a little before Christmas.

@project I don’t know about project333 I literally hate all my clothes, so I don’t know if restricting them would depress me even more :(

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/01/2019 19:57

I gathered a load of jars and bottles together for a bath .

Cleansing balm (even behind my ears) then face mask
Shampoo and hair mask
Soak in the bath with bubbles
Shower to rinse
Face serum

Need to do a Korean Italian Towel scrub

Moominfan · 13/01/2019 20:10

What's a towel scrub?

shinny · 15/01/2019 11:07

Ive been eating well and off booze all week. Drinking lots of water (and tea).
Got my daily sunscreen and using rose oil each day.
Took Liquid Gold Rose skin stuff thing out to read how to use.
Put all the clothes I think I will dump to one side to see if I actually reach for them in next few weeks and if not, they will be donated.
Checked out microblading but so pricey here I will wait for UK trip.
Considered botox for a couple of wrinkles at side of mouth - would be keen to hear any one's experiences...??
Waxing and pedi to sort for next week.
Not bad eh

HettyB · 15/01/2019 19:38

Good going, @shinny

I’m having my hair cut and coloured on Thursday, and have booked a massage and manicure for the weekend. I must remember to book a leg wax when I’m there as my legs are dreadful!

I’ve also had a sort out of my wardrobe and got rid of a few bits. I’m slowly trying to pick up some nicer bits in sales but it’s a long slog of ordering, trying on, returning... (with two children under four in tow, I’d rather chew my own arm off than go into town shopping).

I also need to book to have my eyebrows and lashes dyed (I’ve got to my thirties without ever having them done and they need it!). And I really should try a bit harder to shift that half stone...

Karcheer · 15/01/2019 20:49

I’m doing quite well this week. Sitting with olaplex on my hair right now. Had a thalgo facial earlier which was lovely and even went to the gym this morning!
I tried to book my smear but the staff were on training this afternoon, so couldn’t.
I’ve had green tea every morning.

Will add some new objectives for next week on Sunday

IJustLostTheGame · 15/01/2019 21:19

Joining.
I do a cheap version of caroline hirons every morning and I did c25k. I'm going to keep it up and try to get a bit faster.
This year I am going to use my weighted hula hoop. I'm also going to practise my stretches, I want to be able to do the splits again.
I shall make more effort with my nails.
I also need a better haircare routine. It's fine and frizzy. It was quite curly until I started doing curly girl method and now it just looks shit.

EngagedAgain · 15/01/2019 22:49

I've decided to have a re style and have brought a few new pieces in the sales. I have finally learnt (hopefully) after wasting some money over the last few years not to have too many clothes and wear what you have.
Then if you change style or size you haven't wasted any money.

EngagedAgain · 15/01/2019 22:56

To, I just lost (sorry not learnt to do bold yet) and anyone else with frizzy hair, the redken frizz dismiss range I found good. It's not cheap but probably the shampoo alone will do the job. I didn't need the conditioner.

Moominfan · 16/01/2019 09:20

I had my eyebrows microbladed in December. Wanted it for some time. Saw a deal for 150 including top up. So happy with the outcome but it's worth checking the persons work. You don't want to be stuck with eyebrows your unhappy with just because it was on sale

Moominfan · 16/01/2019 09:20

Has anyone tried biotin before? I have bald patches after having lo. Currently taking fish oils.
