SOTD Bottega Veneta pour Homme. lovely but zero last power. as with all their scents. hmpf.

Sorry to lower the tone but does anyone know if Katy Perry's range are OK?

cantbelievemyeyes · 31/01/2019 13:28

SOTD is the Vanilla Flash which arrived this morning. Doesn't top Patch Flash for me, but still very happy. I may just buy all the Flashes and be done with it Grin

ToftheB · 31/01/2019 13:42

My Opal Sweets arrived - and I like it!

It started of as strong, unadulterated vanilla, nice enough but a bit dull. After the initial blast though there’s a herbal (almost medicinal) and woody note that shines through and makes it less sweet and more interesting. It’s not earth shattering, but it’s very wearable (which is good, because I’ve got 100mls of it to work through!)

Destiel · 31/01/2019 13:44

My Avon order arrives later :)

Did you get yours yet kali?

ToftheB · 31/01/2019 13:50

It’s also got a strong iso-e-super scent, which google tells me must be the Timbersilk. I actually quite like molecule 01 as a daytime perfume, so that’s a plus for me (not a popular opinion though, I know!)

Destiel · 31/01/2019 14:29

Gutted I didn't go for it.
Grr.

Destiel · 31/01/2019 14:29

My order hasn't arrived yet :(

UnnecessaryFennel · 31/01/2019 14:42

The timbersilk was the reason I didn't go for Opal Sweets - I can't get on with anything too heavy on the iso-e super. There is a bit of it in Lightning Ridge I think but not tooooo much.

Funnily enough I was eavesdropping on a conversation between a couple of my students the other day - one said to the other 'oooh you smell absolutely gorgeous' and apparently it was Molecule 1 she was wearing, so it must work for some!

I love Vanilla Flash but must admit I think I prefer Patch Flash too. I tried Rose Flash which is like being mown down by a candyfloss machine...wayyyyyy too sweet for me.

KaliforniaDreamz · 31/01/2019 17:35

Destiel it was still sitting in my Avon basket and has now been paid for... i shall let u know when it arrives!

CocoMadwoman · 31/01/2019 17:41

I really want to try Rose Flash (sweetie lover)!

I’ve just sold a good few of my perfumes on eBay in order to raise funds for future purchases Grin.

Had to say goodbye to:

Hypnotic Poison (weirdly medicinal on my skin)

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid (dunno why I ever bought this...never found a TF I like and this is boring as hell)

Diorella (Not vintage...nice enough, but I never wore it)

Annick Goutal Quel Amour (love this, so very pretty & oh so French...and in the old style bottle. Ow...didn’t want to give it up... but it’s just not ‘me’)

Gucci Flora. Meh.

No perfume buying until March for me, but I’m saving my pennies for a FB of Fille de Berlin and maybe one more TBC...

Destiel · 31/01/2019 18:45

Avon LBD weekend has arrived.

Lemon top notes, woody base. Lovely. I think I'll be wearing this a lot in summer :)

CocoMadwoman · 31/01/2019 19:07

Ooh that sounds lovely, Destiel

cantbelievemyeyes · 31/01/2019 19:19

Ah I love Rose Flash Fennel, I was all set to buy it in Les Senteurs and then realised I hadn't tried Patch and had to have that! Definitely sweet, but it really reminded me of the Rose pot pourri my Nana used to buy as well- in a good way.

Destiel · 31/01/2019 19:39

Yes, and £7 in the sale! :)

WineNotTea · 31/01/2019 20:17

Ladies you are making me jealous with all of your SsOTD being By the Fireplace. Hopefully my John Lewis order will arrive tomorrow so I can join the party!
SOTD today for me was Burberry Body

One of my all time favourites is JPG Classique, I know that it’s very very marmite but that strong heady aroma makes me smile every time I wear it. I do tent to drown myself in it so I apologise to all those who may inadvertently walk passed me when I’m wearing it!

MrsLucas · 31/01/2019 20:47

SotE is MG's Fire. A desperate attempt to keep warm. Can't feel my toes - going to bed at same time as kids tonight; keen to get under a duvet.

UnnecessaryFennel · 31/01/2019 20:56

Yep, we're freezing here too. Damn house never gets warm. Am craving Prada Oeillet, oddly; might have to have a wee dab before bed.

The snow is coming down...

CountFosco · 31/01/2019 22:42

SotD Bois Naufrage. Green figginess works in the cold I think.

No snow here yet but very cold, took my laptop home so I can WFH tomorrow if need be. Enjoying our new house though, it's much warmer than the last one.

OP posts:
UnnecessaryFennel · 01/02/2019 08:39

SOTD is Salome. Filthy, glamorous gorgeousness for a day spent hunched over the laptop in fingerless gloves with a hot water bottle on my lap Grin

Destiel · 01/02/2019 08:43

A day at home today.

Admin, cleaning, washing...yadda yadda...

So I think Avon timeless today as I've now got a back up bottle.

With yves rocher leaving the UK I'm slightly panicking other non uk perfume/beauty firms will do the same. Sarah M explains why it might happen on the 4160 fb page if anyone is interested.

Tbh I've been sort of stockpkling perfume for while....that's why I did the 4160 3 for 2.

Sigh.

CatherineMaitland · 01/02/2019 09:08

Thanks to XingMing, trying 4160 Tuesdays Outdoors/A Walk in the Woods today, in honour of the snow. Although it's too cold to actually go out.

Something of stale Polo crossed with car air freshener about it so far.

Georgianfairy · 01/02/2019 09:13

Sotd PP L'Eau d'Issey today which is more a spring scent really but felt the need for something fresh and green.

Destiel · 01/02/2019 10:43

catherine indoors is nicer

mewan · 01/02/2019 11:02

SOTD Jovan Musk which I bought out of curiosity as Michael Edwards describes it as a classic musk and it was v v cheap at allbeauty. I like it - it's slightly soapy, warm, fuzzy and unaffected.

Good for a snow day at home.

fishonabicycle · 01/02/2019 12:12

Just had a second test of Maison margiela Untitled - love it. Slightly reminiscent of Prada Iris. Might have to get this one.
