aubergine we tried looking in her mouth but she wasn’t having it. She’s begging for treats, purring as she takes them in her mouth, then kind of spitting them out. She did eat some biscuits earlier, and in desperation I have put down a cat broth thing which she previously expressed disdain for, so I don’t hold out much hope. How expensive a do if it’s teeth? I spent thousands on my own last year!

MrsL I dye mine my own colour, which is a reddy brown, but I had a bit of build up on the ends. I tend to strip it every few years. I have greys round my temples which I think stand out because I am dark, but actually I was surprised how little grey there was once the colour was out. It was like an orange fright wig though. Re-colouring was essential. The stripper is like a bleach bath, but I know with SC Decolour you can’t dye over it. Colour Restore is a new one on me.

MrsLucas · 25/01/2019 23:53

Remover, not Restore, doh!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/01/2019 00:07

You need to wait a week after that, or use one of those six wash temp colours, no mixing, no peroxide. Otherwise the colour mysteriously returns to your hair. (Voice of bitter experience.)

MrsLucas · 26/01/2019 00:12

Thank you Judy Flowers. Good job I resisted temptation. It is remarkably hard to find level 1 colourants these days..

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/01/2019 00:29

I think Nice n Easy do one? I use colour from Sally’s which my hairdresser matched me to, but it’s permanent, hence the blocky ends. I think you need seven to ten shampoos as opposed to a set number of days before you can do permanent colour, so you could speed it up if you wanted.

auberginesrus · 26/01/2019 08:20

Judy let's just say I could have bought 4 full size bottles of By the Fireplace Sad

Fingers crossed she doesn't need teeth out.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 08:26

I have both...a tiny sample of the original and the PP dupe.

To my nose they are indistinguishable. I have the fragrance dust too.

It's called wood fire.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 08:30

Hello one good to see you back!

My avon order arrives next week then thats it. No more perfume for me too after March :(

But the 4160 Tuesdays sale is on monday...

Oh woe.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 08:50

Hey floofy my decent arrived...thank you x

I've had a spray already.

Yum yum.

Hope you're feeling a bit better? X

MrsLucas · 26/01/2019 10:03

Morning All. SotD #1 Paris 1948, #2 Empreinte. Just about keeping the sulphurous fumes at bay...

UnnecessaryFennel · 26/01/2019 13:30

I bought Hippie Rose Grin

It's so lovely, so wearable and DP really likes it which is a definite bonus.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 13:44

Lovely :)

Georgianfairy · 26/01/2019 14:29

My decant has arrived as well, thanks so much floofy! I put it straight on, obviously! I really like it, keep sniffing my arm. It's sweeter than I expected and I got a big hit of clove on first spray which I wasn't so sure about but now it's settled down it's so comforting and cosy. Need to go and scrub the Shay and Blue Blood Orange I was already wearing and reapply properly.

FloofyIdentifiesAsInnocentDave · 26/01/2019 17:46

Glad the By the Fireplace ones turned up safely as I entrusted the post office journey to DD Grin If anyone else would like a decant before ordering it for real or even just to try, send me a PM and I'll be happy to oblige :) It's interesting to me to read feedback as it doesn't work on me on for some reason.

Welcome back to MIA Perfumistas and Thanks to anyone suffering with poorlyness. I hate January!

Judy how old is your (very beautiful!) cat? Mine had teeth and gums serviced Wink around 8 years old. I well remember all your own teeth trauma, how ironic if your cat decided to get in on the action BrewDoes she have wet food?

Perfume, cats and hair dye, it's like all my favourited topics on one thread GrinI just use bleach rather than colour remover as I think it's more efficient and no difference in terms of damage - but I only have a tiny bit of hair Wink I apply lip balm to the surrounding shaved areas and forehead so it doesn't get irritated.

SOTD has actually been another try of By The Fireplace - nope, the lovely spicy opening note disappears and it's just vanillary on me - of course the longevity is amazing as I can't like it. Grin it's very cloying on me which is a shame as I really want to love it!

4160s sale on Monday you say? I've been good and only made the effort to get my credit card out once this year so far. Must not fail now

Destiel · 26/01/2019 19:00

Yes 28th!
Im really hoping there isn't anything I want!!!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/01/2019 22:03

SOTD FM POAL. I can’t remember if I said, but my friend gave me 10mls of this at Christmas because she didn’t like it. It’s on my birthday list now.

Cat-face has eaten a load of tinned tuna (the kitchen reeks of it, but I’ll take it) and some Dreamies, both of which I went out in the pissing rain to procure for her. floofy she just turned five this month, so a baby really. I have calmed down a bit today. She’s absolutely fine in herself, but yesterday I had DP taking her to the vet and returning with ashes in a box and all sorts. I am pre-menstrual.

FloofyIdentifiesAsInnocentDave · 27/01/2019 06:41

Oh God I know that feeling! On a trip to A and A years ago with an accident prone DC, the doctor said to me "I apply the principle of asking DC if they want a McDonald's, if they say yes they don't need A and E" Grin and I think Dreamies are the cat equivalent SmileSo it's a good sign she is eating them. Of course you will be buying her tinned tuna forever now though as she won't return to her usual food :)

I'm saying nothing, in December my cat had three an advent calendar and liked it so much I went back in the January sales to buy more and she still gets one each morning Blush

That wasn't even perfume related sorry not sorry because cats (I sound like a teenager!)

Destiel · 27/01/2019 09:29

I think sotd will be mmm by the fireplace (again)

CocoMadwoman · 27/01/2019 14:27

I’m wearing D&G Pour Femme today. Not the gorgeous, spicy old red cap, but the newer fluffy marshmallow incarnation. I’m feeling fragile and needed something comforting.

JontyDoggle37 · 27/01/2019 16:05

Hello, hoping I’ve found some expert perfume detectives who can help me track down the perfume I’m after. It may not be made any more...it had packaging crowded with pastel flowers I think, I thought It was by Elizabeth Arden, but can’t find anything similar on their site. It had the most amazing smell, kind of like being in a garden, not woodsy or musky at all. The only reason I didn’t buy it then is my then boss (who I hated) tried it the same day and bought it, and I couldn’t then beat to wear the same thing. I’ve finally got over myself and want to track it down, as having trouble finding anything I like at the moment, but well aware I may be too late...

CocoMadwoman · 27/01/2019 16:09

Welcome Jonty.

Can you try to describe the bottle or box in more detail?

CocoMadwoman · 27/01/2019 16:11

The only EA with lots of flowers on the bottle that I can think of is a flanker of EA Green Tea...can’t recall which one, maybe the peach blossom one? But that doesn’t match your ‘musky’ Description...

UnnecessaryFennel · 27/01/2019 16:17

I thought one of the Green Tea flankers, but also, could it be Anais Anais?

Very floral, lots of pastel flowers on the packaging and an absolute classic so quite likely to have been popular even with horrible bosses Grin

UnnecessaryFennel · 27/01/2019 16:18

The EA flankers could be Cherry Blossom or Honeysuckle, maybe? My money's on Anais though...

Ollivander84 · 27/01/2019 16:23

My own cat has had all his teeth removed bar his lower fang a few weeks ago
Here he is, my little toothless bat ears Grin
