Thanks Ella will have a nose, I think have one locally.

NotAnActualSheep · 22/12/2018 18:11

Ahhh. How cute that your DGD made the heart len! Hope your DH gets better soon...lol @ dying swan!

Good luck with sainsbos soy, and lucky you managed to get the fridge fixed. That would have been a bit of a nightmare. I'm Xmas Envy of fridges with the inbuilt ice things. We are all going to DPs for christmas, so we are providing the booze and they are sorting food. We did a mega online sains order that was delivered yesterday (hate to think what the delivery man thought of my DPs, with a delivery of All The Drinks and nothing else...) but there were some rather peculiar substitutions, so probably safest to go to an actual shop, even though the thought of that is enough to make me feel a bit queasy.

I'm on the bus going to a Carol service, and somehow I manage to have spent £150 in boden Aaaaaargh Xmas ShockXmas Blush. That pink Heidi jumper that I am still going on about Xmas Blush, and the star version of each's sweatshirt. And some funky spotty trousers and a starry skirt, just to have a look. Oh, and the socks, on recommendation!!

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 22/12/2018 18:34

I’m home wearing ancient gap pjs, making risotto and drinking a Cosmo. It’s been a day in which no money was spent and lots of chilled out times were had. Tomorrow we are off to Santa and out for dinner and having to think about Christmas prep. Today was a tonic!

EachandEveryone · 22/12/2018 18:51

The docks are great not too thick. I went to M and S to buy some food for work Xmas day but the sales woman told me to go back tomorrow when it’s all reduced. Abit worried that I’ve spent loads on casual wear and none on something to wear on New Year’s Eve. I wonder if the Hush sale will be on by then

Laska2Meryls · 22/12/2018 19:58

Len A happy birthday ! WineCakeGlitterball.. I do hope the snotties dont give it to you..

I have been a it of a dying swan today Sad..Q frankly have been feeling totally carp/snotty and have been in bed most of the day . Hopefully ill feel better tomorrow..

We do have most of food in for Christmas (collecting meat on 24th) but no tree or decs up yet, and I have advance prep cooking to get on with , mince pies , lebkuchen, stuffing, ham, red cabbage etc etc .Plan was to start that tomorrow, before DH wants to get into kitchen to do bread ans pannetone.. (I'm sure we dont need all this food but we always do anyway ).

In a snotty feverish spell last night I seem to have ordered the Tiger T.. i must be feverish because up to now i have always said it was far too expensive for what it was ..

dontcallmelen · 22/12/2018 21:00

Laska aww poor you, hope you feel better very soon, 😂 at feverish tiger tee ordering.
Dh is currently moaning n groaning, have broken out the G&T as he is giving me a headache now.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, last of my fifties 😳

miffy2 · 22/12/2018 21:44

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on much lately.
Hope you are all well and have a lovely Christmas. I will be thinking of you, Laska and will hug my own mum tighter than usual.

To answer your questions (I looked at my order history and compared to previous years I really didn't keep many items this season):

  1. Looking back over A/W season what have you bought from Hush which has proved to be a winner?
  • grey v neck wide jersey top. Hope they bring it out in many more colours.
  • star hoop earrings (I think a PP loves them too)
  • leopard print leggings. Pure love.

2.What hasn't got worn much , or at all?

  • black military jacket. I think the weather was a factor in this as by the time I got it the weather turned generally colder. Will be a feature in spring I hope.
  • Bought in the summer but STILL have tags on: the colourblock pleated skirt. Big regret as I just never wore it. I will try again in spring and if not will try and sell it.
  1. And what old Hush Item from previous seasons do you keep dragging out?
  • Where to start...three Felix tunics, wrist warmers (I have 2 pairs and wear them all winter), black harems, my Erica black knit top which I wore to my work do last night with a black sequin skirt from Warehouse, and my black Onyx leather jacket. All worn on repeat.

@Ella I love the coated skinnies and jumper! Are they Hush trousers? I have a pair and while I like them I find them a weird fit on my waist - slightly too wide and too low so I am constantly hitching them. Have been on the lookout for another pair to try.

Ellapaella · 22/12/2018 21:57

@miffy2 I wore my harems loads over the summer but haven't worn hardly at all since weather got a bit colder, I find them very thin. How do you style them in winter? I always wear mine with flip flops or sandals in summer so not sure what footwear I'd wear them with over winter. Would love some inspiration to get them back out of the wardrobe!
The trousers in my pic aren't Hush - they are Vero Moda. I was tempted by the Hush ones but the reviews put me off - virtually every review on the website said they were a strange fit or very small for size.

OP posts:
miffy2 · 22/12/2018 22:15

@Ella ah I see! I think I actually may have a pair of VM coated skinnies in navy and remember liking them a lot, although they are a few years old now. Must dig them out from under the bed!

Yes, the Hush are a strange enough fit. Very low on my waist although I love how they fit on the legs.

I wear my Harems mostly at home in winter but if I wear them out I wear with trainers as I don't mind bare ankles even this time of year :) I sometimes tuck them into a pair of Uggs too. Last winterI wore them with a pair of Uniqlo thermal leggings underneath for warmth.
They just don't work with ankle boots I think.

miffy2 · 22/12/2018 22:43

Actually my navy coated skinnies were by Vila. Must check out the VMs!

Ellapaella · 22/12/2018 23:45

Ugg's and Harems sound perfect cosy winter wear..
I don't mind having a bit of ankle on display this time of year either as long as my feet are warm. I have some lovely merino wool trainer socks which do the job perfectly.

Liveinthepresent · 23/12/2018 08:48

This thread moves fast.
Laska hope you feel a bit better today I am actually loving the dedication that you placed a Hush order while feverish/ unwell.

My parcel was a bit disappointing in the end to be honest .
I only tried things very quickly so will have a second go today with tights / shoes etc .

The devore leopard dress is gorgeous and I think would look stunning on someone slimmer than me - I am unsure it’s that flattering on me but will try again with boots and see what DH thinks.
I am not sure I am brave enough to post photos !

Other things I liked -
Black Marina - very tempted to keep though I do have snakeskin already
V neck Lace vest
Pyjamas - midnight with gold dot though the quality really isn’t great for price !

Glitter raglan tee was huge.
Elara jumper is lovely but I overlooked the fact that it’s navy so I don’t think I can justify keeping as won’t get worn enough.

I also tried the chilton heels for work which I did really like on but I don’t think I would wear them enough as tend to mostly wear boots really .

Will report back later need to go and cram a load of festive food into my fridge now!

GinandGingerBeer · 23/12/2018 08:59

I still never managed to find any coated skinnies, I think I need to just accept I can't do them Sad
I haven't wrapped any presents yet Shock so that, along with a mountain of washing is today's job.
We're hosting (only for 7 and mum is nil by mouth) but we haven't actually got a table as we turned the dining room into a second lounge for teen ds's and their friends as it really only got used xmas day, and as a dumping ground.
DH is cobbling something together out of mdf to sit on top of a desk. That's going to be fun when someone leans on it.

whiskyremorse · 23/12/2018 09:22

Live ref the pyjamas you need to decide if they are worth keeping if the gold dots disappear as my royal blue with gold stars from last Christmas lost their stars quite quickly.
I wear thermal footless tights under my aimees in the winter which works well.
My most-loved and worn are aimees, wide green top and LL tops. I bought an Ivy dress on ebay as I wasn't sure how much I'd wear it but am enjoying it but with leggings not tights as it feels too short for me as a dress. Also a zebra skirt on ebay which I love almost as much as Sabrina cardie which was a bargain

twosoups1972 · 23/12/2018 10:49

gin can you borrow a folding table?

twosoups1972 · 23/12/2018 11:23

Love reading about and seeing all the lovely clothes Smile

This thread is a bit of light relief for me. I have unhappy children at the moment, our home is not a happy place and it's really getting me down and wondering what on earth I've done wrong. 17 year old dd has been up and down/stressed recently but yesterday showed signs of depression - didn't come out her room till 2pm and not eating much. I am out of my mind with worry. Managed to secure a telephone appointment with GP for tomorrow morning.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/12/2018 11:55

Might be an idea @twosoups. Think my mum has one of those old drop leaf ones, but not sure how big it is.
Sorry to hear things aren't great at home with dd, do you know what's triggered it? Does she have A'level mocks coming up or anything like that?
DS 18 is driving me up the wall with his nocturnal habits as it's disrupting everything, he only comes out for food and drink then sleeps again. Angry
The Hush sale usually starts really late iirc, but I think they'll start earlier this year as they've had far more promotional days than they usually do, maybe feeling the pinch a bit! I didn't order until 21st jan last year so maybe the sale was a bit disappointing and I ordered in final reductions?

Liveinthepresent · 23/12/2018 12:10

Thanks whisky good feedback - to be honest that wouldn’t be too bad I just think the fabric is poor for price but struggle to find good pyjamas hence thinking I may keep them.

Looking back over A/W season what have you bought from Hush which has proved to be a winner?
My best buys are Aimee’s I have several and love the leopard ones most.
A black v neck wide jersey top
Marina snakeskin tho not worn loads yet
A black chiffon type blouse I don’t know name of !
Rock and Roll t shirt

2.What hasn't got worn much , or at all?

Galaxy dress though more my weight
That’s stopping me with that .

  1. And what old Hush Item from previous seasons do you keep dragging out ?
Camo roll neck jumper from last year love it An ancient soft blazer I wear for work

I seem to have more success In summer though usually.

dontcallmelen · 23/12/2018 12:15

Two really sorry to hear of your worries with the family, if you don’t get much joy with a phone consultation, I would push for a face to face appointment, some Gp’s have schemes that offer reasonably quick access to counselling services, it’s a tricky age it’s very very rarely anything you have done wrong💐

twosoups1972 · 23/12/2018 12:19

Thank you melen and gin She has A Level mocks in January but hasn't done much revision yet. It's so hard how to know whether to encourage her to work or not. I don't want to stress her out even more but on the other hand I don't want her to regret not working. Maybe the mocks will be a wake up call if she doesn't do as well as she'd like.

dontcallmelen · 23/12/2018 13:20

Two would it be worth speaking to her school/HOY, they might be able to throw some light on what may be troubling her, apologies if I’m stating the bleedin obvious.

Ellapaella · 23/12/2018 14:06

@twosoups1972 bless you, that must be tough and very worrying. I think the teenage years are a minefield for us parents..

@SoyYo this picture is just for you... excuse messy bed in back ground (and bizarre pot of cream in bed - am about to go and make some chocolate mousse and trifle) - a very bright (and very very warm) jumper!

A very Meryl-y Christmas to all.. Hush Christmas continued
