I think Leti is taller than she looks. Her (gorgeous) husband is a giant so she looks tiny in comparison.

I'm sure the Queen will be more worried about whether she will finally get a winner at the Epsom Derby, than what colour nail varnish Meghan is wearing!

I really couldn't care less about nail polish, that is a ridiculous stick to beat her with. I thought her dress was lovely. Why she was there and her conduct, not so sure.

I also couldn't care less about Meghan's origins, so please don't bring out the race card. It's a shame people can't have opinions without reducing them to race.

I don't hate or love the woman. I think she's textbook narcissistic. I don't admire or respect that.

I have family in Spain and they say she is despised by the public.

I visit Spain quite often and my impression is that the entire 'royal' family are widely disliked, not just Letizia.

They have been caught up in the corrution scandals surrounding the previous government (Letizia sending messages of support to executives involved in a bank scandal www.univision.com/univision-news/world/phone-messages-tie-spains-royal-family-to-black-credit-card-scandal )and are generally seen as out of touch with so many people struggling to make ends meet.

There were years when Letizia didnt wear jewellery. I don't even think she wore her engagement ring. At the time it was supposed that she didn't want to be all binged up with diamonds when there was the whiff of financial scandal about.

She busts it all out now though!

I do notice that when there's insecurity, jewellery is the first to be discarded. Look at Charlene before the kids. She wore as little as she could get away with, it was markedly noticeable. Sometimes she wouldn't even wear earrings at public events (quelle horreur!). But now she's enjoying jewellery a bit more.

Spain was hit very badly in the recession and this definitely would have added to the anti monarchy feeling.

If they hate Leti because she is divorced, worked, that's ridiculous. However if a country support a monarchy, they expect a certain person in their eyes to be their "royalty". I'm not saying it's right but it looks that way in the UK too. I do think a lot of people don't like Meghan because she married their darling Harry.

The biggest royal scandal in Spain involved Felipe's sister and brother in law, didn't it? And king JC's indiscretions are legendary.

I hadn't realised that when Camilla was wearing the black and white stripes so well last week it was her annual charity function for Helen & Douglas House. An amazing children's charity that provides hospice care to very sick kids. I am unfortunate enough to know it's work well. She's amazing that she supports it.

Not liking letizia’s jacket at all. Needs to be more fitted.
At the table; she looks like she arrived late to the meeting and didn’t have time to take her coat off.
I like the colour blocking but the jacket is terribly cut for her.
She should have worn it open with a black polo neck & black skinny pants.
The greys clash and the turtleneck stops halfway up her neck.

I think Leti doesn't wear her wedding ring due to the scandal around her sister in law. As far as I can remember when her hubby was getting engaged to Leti, his sisters husband's credit card had something to do with getting one of her rings. Now Leti doesn't wear her engagement or wedding ring.

Re the gap between Anne and Andrew, I’d heard it was because Philip was still pissed off about the surname situation?

Meghan’s in my neck of the woods next week, visiting the Royal Variety Club care home. Tempted to head down there!

I thought it was put out that the reason for the gap between Anne and Andrew was the Queen's new role eclipsing everything else after her father died?

I may be reading too much into it, but I get the impression that Charles is taking Harry under his wing a bit and is training him a little.
I think the stress of the year (although there were many positives) have made Harry into a bit of a loose cannon who has needed a bit of guidance.

I think it is significant that he & Meghan have not had any official joint engagements for some time. I think we are going to see a bit less of the hand holding, honeymoon style engagements and some more “royal” type demeanour in the new year.

To end my “round up” Meghan had a meeting with the artistic director of the national theatre. It looks like at least one of her patronage’s will be the Arts.

Queen Silvia has done a shoot to celebrate her birthday. She's looking good.

Have been following this thread and the previous one. Coming out of lurking mode to tell you my tidbit about the dress CP Victoria wore to the Nobel Prize dinner - ‘barbie princess dress’ I think someone called it further down the thread...

Victoria was wearing preloved - Silvia wore it first, also to the Nobel Prize dinner, in 1995.
