Link to previous thread.

And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

That makes sense. The poofiness of it is very early nineties.

beanaseireann · 13/12/2018 07:29

What a lovely idea, CPV wearing her mother's dress.

Clionba · 13/12/2018 07:31

It's stunning. It's nice to see them wearing stuff from the royal archive.
On the subject of "royal rules", Michelle Obama says in her book that she apologised to HM for breaking a rule by putting her arm around her. HM said there's "no such thing". I have an old book about the Queen from the late 50s. In one picture HM is wearing a stunning evening dress, and nail varnish that is distinctly pinky orange!

Cornwall73 · 13/12/2018 07:31

I really like the three block colours of CPV dress and the fact that it’s her mum’s!

Colabottle10 · 13/12/2018 07:31

'That time PH dressed as a Nazi....when going to a fancy dress party where the theme was evil people? That time?'

Just to put you straight here @Want2bSupermum the theme wasn't 'evil people', it was 'colonial'. I was there.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 13/12/2018 07:39

Shock Cola

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 13/12/2018 07:40

Yes it does instantly make sense, doesn’t it.

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 13/12/2018 07:41

And yes, I thought it was a lovely idea too, and it suits them both nicely.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2018 07:41

Wasn't it a "colonials and natives" party? Even that title is Hmm But I guess everyone does stupid things in their youth that they now regret...

Rhubarbisevil · 13/12/2018 07:42

But if you think about it. Hitler wanted to conquer Europe if not the world, so wasn’t he a colonialist?

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2018 07:58

Yes but what a theme - it's mainly the "and natives" bit that I find Hmm. I mean who even uses that term these days? Whoever came up with it was clearly not the brightest!

Or a very non PC, sexist, racist aristo!! If you follow the Manners children on Instagram (Duke of Rutland’s DCs) you’ll catch a glimpse of the aristo way of thinking. And interesting clothes as well.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2018 08:15

Well it's not mutually exclusive @Rhubarbisevil GrinThe Manners sisters are awful - spoiled, overprivileged and god knows how they're "models" as they're no beauties!

Queen I don’t think being beautiful is a requirement nowadays to model. More interested in connections and famous families, which is a shame because modelling, acting and music were ways working class kids with talent and looks could get on.

Ilovedotcotton · 13/12/2018 08:28

Can someone link to the Manners account on Instagram? I’m not sure how to find them. Thanks.

Ilovedotcotton · 13/12/2018 09:12

Found them!

BlingLoving · 13/12/2018 09:27

I think casual racism about Africa is pretty common because even people who would be horrified to know they're racist aren't educated enough on the issues or on the way people are thinking about the issues in a modern way. It's particularly true I think of posh/wealthy people.

I did some work for Sadlers Wells years and years ago. I can't remember what the situation was but I think they were doing a show with an African connection. When I read the brochure, I was absolutely horrified. But when I tried to gently mention it to the people in charge they basically told me that I didn't understand how things worked in England and that these terms weren't offensive here. The fact that me, and the performers and the show were all from Africa didn't seem to make them question at all whether or not they might be slightly offensive.

Needless to say, that job didn't last long! Grin

CrookedMe · 13/12/2018 09:47

Bloody hell, those Insta feeds!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 13/12/2018 09:56

Not sure about the coat but love that photo Curly, thanks.

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 13/12/2018 10:48

I love Camilla's coat. I kind of want it for myself.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/12/2018 11:56

Letizia has gone a bit boho again

Keira Knightly about to receive an OBE at BP.
She looks cut with the jaunty hat; but its not the best execution of a Chanel.suit that I've seen...

Fab colour on the Queen. Love the hat with the red feathers. At Lincoln's inn this morning

Lovely to see the Queen looking so happy, those colours are really zinging.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/12/2018 12:16

Love Leti's green dress!
