I’m very happy so far:

  • the shower gel smells lovely. I use soap, but I had a gorgeous scented bath with this as bubble bath yesterday.
  • the eye cream is something I definitely wouldn’t have bought full price without trying it first... but I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it works! I’m early 30s and just starting to get tiny creases/laugh lines around my eyes, especially when I’m tired or dehydrated. If I see good results over time with the mini I might splash out on this product.
  • I’m less excited by today’s offering as I just use normal moisturiser and spf in this area, but the cream smells nice and feels silky. I’ll enjoy using up the pot at least :)
recovery18 · 03/12/2018 09:46

I also got this in the summer box but it's nice and I love the sparkly tub. My decolletage looks fine unless I lean forwards and pull my arms together. Then I get a sort of horrible concertina of wrinkles Sad

december I vote for keeping a running tally if you don't mind - then by Christmas we will know how much worth overall for our £35?

MysweetAudrina · 03/12/2018 09:58

I was also going to say that I would enjoy seeing a running total each day so. Once we hit the £35 then everything after that is free !!!!

satsumasunrise · 03/12/2018 10:00

I couldn't read what it was either. I think reading glasses are beckoning.

I'd really appreciate the value tally too please.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 03/12/2018 10:04

Yes please late, it's interesting!

I think part of the thing with the eye cream was that the box was so big in relation to the product! Now I have used it and realised that you only need a tiny amount O am feeling less Confused about it!

Springmachine · 03/12/2018 10:24

I've opened all my calendar Blush

DurhamDurham · 03/12/2018 10:39

Just found you, pleased I've got somewhere to talk about what we get each day as my husband is clearly only feigning interest Grin

I like the shower gel, we're going away this weekend so keeping it to take with me.
Always happy to try a new eye cream because at 48 I definitely think I have more, ahem, laughter lines.
Not sure what I think of today's cream; I'll try it out but not so keen on the packaging.

fredleighton · 03/12/2018 10:44

Am glad to have found this. I'm not mad keen on lemony scents but the shower gel will be great for wakening me up on the morning after Xmas parties. Always glad to have an eye cream. And love the sparkly packaging today - am interested to see what the product is like.

HumberElla · 03/12/2018 10:48

Very happy with day 3, I definitely wouldn’t have bought this but appreciate the chance to try it out. Especially now that I’ve noticed my neck needing a little extra care these days!

karala · 03/12/2018 11:17

I used both the eye cream and the throat cream this morning. I don't look 20 years younger yet but there's time

FranKubelik · 03/12/2018 11:19

Springmachine - I've been so close to doing that! At the moment I'm resisting by shaking and smelling the unopened boxes.

jerkkneed · 03/12/2018 11:53

Glad there's a thread about this!

Yes I had streamlined my routine and the products I use but feel like this calendar will make me feel like I need to add things again!

I was using an Aldi under eye gel that was ok but yesterday's eye cream was amazing. Dreading it running out! 😆

ForgetMeLots · 03/12/2018 11:55

I’m growing more disappointed by the day.

Eye cream, décolletage cream - why so oddly specific?

I’d like to see some wintery welcomes, such as bubble bath, a lovely candle, face mask, hair bask, some festive coloured lipstick or nail varnish.

This is rubbish so far.

ForgetMeLots · 03/12/2018 11:56

*hair mask

Haworthia · 03/12/2018 12:00

It’s only day 3 Forget!

Last year there were face masks, lip products and festive nail polishes (which people moaned about because they were too glittery). No bubble baths or candles though - which I personally wouldn’t like.

Can’t please everyone all of the time, eh?

ForgetMeLots · 03/12/2018 12:08

True. It just seems very random and whilst I get that they’re expensive products, I’d rather have a full sized less expensive product that I can look forward to using on a wintery night.

Maybe I’ll make my own next year Grin I do look forward to the face mask though.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 03/12/2018 12:33

I would not be impressed at getting a candle in a beauty calendar, it's not a beauty item. While I love lipstick and nail polish, chances are, especially with lipstick, that the colour will not suit. So I'm happy so far.

Haven't tried the eye cream yet as I had only just started a new tube, but the neck cream went straight on this morning, nice texture, odd fragrance, gorgeous glittery pot!

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/12/2018 12:55

Very pretty purple sparky jar , just as well I’m following this thread , as I’m another one who can’t read the small writing !

DD has an ASOS calendar , her box 3 was empty!
She’s outraged , and is sending them an email 😡

Tourist is there any way the gift could have slipped down into another slot in the calendar?

chemenger · 03/12/2018 14:36

I hope there isn’t a candle lurking in there, I don’t like scented candles, I don’t like the idea of filling a room with unnecessary chemicals, bad for pets and humans. They make me feel wheezy. They’re not s beauty item either. The most unpopular items last year were the nail polish and the lip colour (which I actually really liked). I’m several thousand miles away from my calendar and enjoying reading what I have to look forward to when I’m finally reunited with it. At the moment I’m looking forward to the eye cream most.

Milly848 · 03/12/2018 15:06

Let's not forget the advent calendar is basically an advert for all these products, it's hoped people will buy the full size of at least some of them.

I don't mind the mix so far, but I will not be impressed if there's a nail file in there.

See, I'm exactly the opposite. I'm well supplied with bubble bath and candles. What I want is the chance to try and expensive, luxurious product I'd never take a risk on as an unknown and see if I like it. It'd be a dull world if we were all the same, eh?

Btw my glittery pot had the glitter worn off on one side - too long in a store room, perhaps? I've tried it out anyway. My throat and neck skin isn't too wrinkly but it is a bit bumpy so all good effects welcome.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 03/12/2018 15:29

From last year's the nail polishes were my least favourite items and I didn't like one of the lip things either....the colours just didn't suit me. I would rather try out the little samples of things that I otherwise can't afford.
Definitely don't want candles! This is a beauty calendar, not a candle calendar!
