Is it very weird that I'm giving this to my DD for Christmas day in the hope that the little boxes will keep her busy for a bit?

SecondTimeCharm · 30/11/2018 00:21

i’m in! first time for any beauty calendar for me, very excited

CrazySheepLady · 30/11/2018 07:29

This is my first ever beauty advent calendar! Can't wait for tomorrow 😊

TillyVonMilly · 30/11/2018 08:56

Checking in Grin
I’ve got a couple of bits left from last year that i haven’t tried, still have some of the orange perfume, which I really like but keep forgetting to wear Grin
I’m getting the calendars out this afternoon, I’ve got the No7 one as well, I’m sure DP will like his Thornton’s one and I have got him a different bottle of beer for each day too. Smile

Isitmybathtimeyet · 30/11/2018 09:49

I loved the perfume and my wretched child emptied it all out when it was still 4/5 full. I'm sure they won't have the same fragrance two years running but I've liked both the Shay and Blues so far so hoping for another good one.

CointreauVersial · 30/11/2018 13:01

Coincidentally, I'm wearing the Blood Orange fragrance today.

I also can't wait, I bloody love the M&S Advent Calendar - it isn't extravagantly expensive, but neither is it full of rubbish.

ihatethecold · 30/11/2018 13:04

I don't this its extravagantly expensive compared to the other ones for sale. very few duff surprises in there and I did swap a few with other Mumsnetters after xmas last year. win ,win.

absolutely love the blood orange perfume so ive bought a larger one for my kids to give me at xmas. Grin

TheBitterBoy · 30/11/2018 13:14

Signing in, loved it last year (and the accompanying chat on MN)

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 30/11/2018 13:20

Me too! Can not wait for tomorrow morning. I've brought mine downstairs today and plonked it in a prominent place like a rather odd oversized Christmas dec Confused especially as the box isn't as pretty as last year.

Looking forward to talking about the contents with you all! And really hope there's another House of Fraser Tosh thread like last year, that was hilarious.

ihatethecold · 30/11/2018 17:09

Does anyone reckon other beauty calendars will be reduced soon, I'd love to get my teenage dd one?

DaphneFanshaw · 30/11/2018 17:11

I am in.
Celebratory Wine anyone ?

moleeye · 30/11/2018 17:24

Meeeeeee. Cannot wait! Might get up at 12.01 just so I can open it 😂😂

PanamaPattie · 30/11/2018 18:03

I've undone the box. It's perched on my mantelpiece in the bedroom.

sluj · 30/11/2018 19:30

Not sure where to put the box, it's not really festive is it? I might leave it behind the bedroom door where it is at the moment. DH's pork scratching one is better looking 😁

Oldtiger · 30/11/2018 19:32

I can’t believe that I missed out on this this year as it sold out online and in my local store a while ago. Do people think it’s worth me paying £50 on eBay for one as a but it now price?!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 30/11/2018 20:10

It is bit of an awkward design isn't it? I have it on my (very wide!) headboard with the cover folded behind it. I did prefer last year's... which is still in the loft as I was going to fill it with chocolate coins or something for DS but forgot and bought him one anywayHmm

Cheers to you Daphne! Just poured myself a Friday night Wine

TheNavigator · 30/11/2018 20:16

I really enjoyed last year's thread (apart from a few whingers) so signing in looking forward to a festive thread free of spoilers.

Cherrypi · 30/11/2018 20:19

I’m more excited about tomorrow than the kids.

Butterymuffin · 30/11/2018 20:19

Have put mine in the bedroom too. It's laid open book style. I've been waking quite a bit in the early hours so I may open my daily box then - I promise not to post on the thread until at least 7am though.

SomethingAboutNothing · 30/11/2018 20:24

I'd like to join in too please! I've still got a few of the bits from last year's but loved it. And agree with the pp who didn't know what to do with some of them - I had to Google a few!

I'm nearly as excited for advent as my DS!

MissLadyM · 30/11/2018 20:27

I couldn't wait and opened day 1 ☺️! Its my first advent calendar! I also opened day 1 of the ASOS one too!

Doilooklikeatourist · 30/11/2018 20:28

Mines on the dining room table , my DD has an ASOS one , the M&S one is much more stylish 👍
Can’t wait😀8

DaisyRenton18 · 30/11/2018 20:39

I'm eyeing it up. I reckon I'll have caved and opened Door 1 by the time I've finished this G and T...

HellenaHandbasket · 30/11/2018 20:45

My husband bought me one as a surprise! Never had a beauty advent calendar before

fourthusernamebutwhoscounting · 30/11/2018 20:46

First time for me! Looking forward to opening it.
