I’m liking the size of today’s advent but I already have makeup on for work so testing will have to wait until tonight.

Had a good relaxing time with the Elasticizer again last night - it’s like I have new hair. I can’t overstate how difficult my hair usually is and how nice it looks this morning compared to normal. I may have purchased a litre bottle now. Grin

HollyHocks13 · 13/12/2018 07:43

Not sure about today's offering, I'm a bit disappointed. It seems quite pointless, I would have much rathered an actual moisturiser...

Shitonthebloodything · 13/12/2018 07:57

I have a giant bottle of elasticiser from QVC that I'm working on so if anyone wants to swap for any of the Shay & blue perfumes or anything else let me know, sure I have more minis of this in my stash too.

latedecember1963 · 13/12/2018 08:18

I think I'm going to try using today's as a hand cream too as I don't fancy putting something on my face that will feel tight. A lovely soothing hand cream is on my wish list for this calendar.

Today's value is straightforward to work out as the M&S site has it in the size we've got. £19.00 which brings our running total to £131.12.

Richlyfruited · 13/12/2018 08:22

Agree seems to be a product for the sake of it this one Confused

I'm a bit worried about overloading my skin with new stuff so might leave this until I'm bored with my skincare routine next year and want to try something new (or gift it/sell on Ebay!)

FedupNagging · 13/12/2018 08:22

Not been on for a week few days so taken a while to catch up.

What a shame some of you are reacting to the lip balm; it makes my lips tingle for a short moment then feels nice.

Loving the nail polish-it's an exact match to my current gel polish so is on my toes with no chipping. I loved the colours from a couple of years ago but chipped after a couple of days even with a top coat.

Like a pp I will use a toner when my skin needs refreshing or in the morning to remove night creams. My skin doesn't like too much messing about with so don't really do full on routines twice a day!

Today's gel is completely different from products we've had before so good to try. After the initial application, my skin tingled and felt tight even after slapping on moisturiser however, 30 minutes later it feels lovely.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/12/2018 08:23

Good idea about using this as a hand cream my hands get very dry in this weather so I'll try that

cuppycakey · 13/12/2018 08:25

I have put todays on my neck. It feels quite good and I am hoping it will work on the light lines I have.

Baubles how are the boils? Do you have a bell you can ring as you walk amongst us? Grin

MeetOnTheSIedge · 13/12/2018 08:33

It made my skin feel tight too, but then it always does after my shower. Hyaluronic acid is supposed to retain water really well hence hydrating.

Glad you are getting on so well with the elasticiser Writers, I'll try it again at the weekend but it really doesn't seem to make any visible difference to mine so far.

MinorProphet · 13/12/2018 08:34

I LUUURRRVE laying skin products a la K beauty, so was delighted to have this. I also get on well with gel moisturisers generally so really pleased to give this a go.

mammmamia · 13/12/2018 08:52

Oh dear at today’s one. I don’t think I’ve got time to add yet another product to my skincare routine Grin

asmallpapercup · 13/12/2018 10:26

Joining in! I quite liked today's gel and didn't expect it to be clear somehow! Has made my skin feel quite tight so I slapped on some of the night cream. I noticed the instructions do say it can be used before your usual cream...

MrsWidgerysLodger · 13/12/2018 11:05

Loving today's gel. It down make my skin feel right but in a nice way isywim. If anyone hates theirs I'll happily take it off your hands Grin

NiceUnusualDifferent · 13/12/2018 12:29

What’s today’s gel?

MrsWidgerysLodger · 13/12/2018 12:41

It's a moisturiser type gel that you use before your normal day or night cream.

Xmasbaby11 · 13/12/2018 14:27

I like today's. Using it instead of my usual serum and my skin feels good!

Loving trying all these new products!

BollockingBaubles · 13/12/2018 14:35

Can't lie, wasn't thrilled to find another skincare product today. 13 days and just one make up item.

It sounds very much like the simple Hydrating Booster product where you can use a primer, under regular moisturiser on dry patches or add to moisturiser and foundation for a boost but because the simple range I regular use does its job it takes forever to get through for me. A 25ml bottle easily lasts me a year because my skin doesn't need it all the time and a drop or two is all that's needed when mixing

I use the simple one to make a thick foundation less thick or to turn a matte one into a slightly dewy finish. I love it and have just finished one this week but am waiting until my skin settles before adding anything else.

I've literally just been saying to my sister I don't like introducing so many new stuff to my skin in such a short space and I'd like to make sure it's actually making any difference if I'm gonna repurchase and switch products which you can't really do if there's multiple new creams being used at once.

I'm being a spoilt brat and want the instant gratification of an eyeshadow or lip gloss, knowing my luck it'll be a foot cream or hand cream tomorrow haha.

Xmasbaby11 · 13/12/2018 14:44

I'd like a lip colour too! Or a hand cream.

BollockingBaubles · 13/12/2018 14:46

Cuppycake, no boils 😀

Sounds like the Simple product is different in that it combats the tight feeling dry skin can give. Love the idea of using as a hand cream, will give that a go.

Mixed review from me too - I've recently pared my skincare right back which seems to a) be working and b)hopefully will save me £ so I'm not wanting to put list of new lotions and potions on. Saying that I knew this would have a few skincare bits in so defeats the object a bit! Oh well it's still nice to try. Thanks again December for the tally it's great value for sure.

The 19th is going to be a naff one for me as I opened it by accident and I don't like it! Debating whether to open the 25th then it keep that one for Christmas Eve night Grin

JessicaJonesJacket · 13/12/2018 16:03

I've not tried today's. Like PPs, I'm a bit wary of trying so many new facial products at once. Plus it's unlikely I'll maintain a regime that involves so many products.

I have the cold and may be taking my grumpiness out on the advent calendar

Penguins1 · 13/12/2018 16:11

Yesterday's product, Pixi rose one, was happy to receive a Pixi product as never used them before. However, I think I prefer products that help cleanse your pores (have combination skin and some blackheads). It sounds like a nice product though, so look forward to trying it.
Today's (under moisturiser), sounds interesting but also one for when have more time. I'll try it.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 13/12/2018 16:25

To be fair to today's gel, after the initial tightness my skin does feel good today. But it's hard to know which of the many new skin products is causing that! I think previous posters trying one product at a time have the right idea. Grin I also think the gel might be better for the summer - I can imagine it being quite nice on skin that's had a bit of sun. so I may stash it for a while.

I'd also like some make up tomorrow please!

latedecember1963 · 13/12/2018 16:36

You are very welcome, Spaceships. 😊

EmeraldVillage · 13/12/2018 16:43

I used the night cream for a couple of days. After the first day my skin started breaking out and it got worse until I stopped. So not for me!
