My lips are still swollen and sore from that lip balm, very slightly better today finally but still sore. I have been doing some research and think perhaps I have had an allergic reaction to the sweet almond oil in it. I do have a mild almond allergy which gives me a sore mouth and tongue immediately after eating them 🤔

Richlyfruited · 10/12/2018 20:56

Thanks @BollockingBaubles I've tried my Simple micellar on it but maybe I need the remover too. It's tough stuff to shift but really does stay put all day Smile

I might buy another travel size on Ebay - there's loads of them on there!!

ihatethecold · 10/12/2018 21:13

The lip stuff doesn’t agree with me either.
Made them dry and chapped after 2 days

mammmamia · 10/12/2018 21:15

Not thrilled with today’s. I’ve had a similar product from Birchbox and was unimpressed so I won’t be using this one. If anyone would like to swap let me know!

Penguins1 · 10/12/2018 21:53

Today's was a nice surprise! The box was smelling minty before I opened it. Todays hair treatment sounds interesting and I think I'll try it soon.

Girls who said that the lip balm isn't for them as bad effect. I tried using it for the first time over the weekend. Texture upon applying is nice. I didn't feel any tingling or smell menthol. Did many of you think it smelt minty? But i must say, that my lips felt a little crackled / dried a while after I had used. Not sure why. I meant to re-apply to see if any better but didn't have a chance. I think I'll try using again and also reapply within a hour or so to see if feels better / better effect. Sorry to hear some of you had allergic reactions!

Polpette · 10/12/2018 22:13

I've noticed that my lips have been really dry recently - I have a horrible feeling it's the lip treatment. I think I'd better give it a miss for a few days and see what happens.

Richlyfruited I sweep a small amount of Lush Ultrabland across my eye area and then wipe with a warm flannel, that seems to remove all traces of the mascara. I'll definitely be buying a full size, I love it.

JessicaJonesJacket · 10/12/2018 23:11

I tried the night cream and the overnight hair treatment tonight. I'm not impressed with either so far but maybe they'll seem better in the morning.
A PP asked what we'd like to receive, I'd love a bold, jewel eyeshadow. Although I think it's unlikely a Pat McGrath has sneaked in Grin

Xmasbaby11 · 10/12/2018 23:52

Another one saying the lip treatment is drying out my lips! I'm going to go back to Vaseline.

I don't use hair treatments so can't believe i have two to try out now!

LoniceraJaponica · 11/12/2018 00:02

It seems like the lip balm is a big no from most posters.

BollockingBaubles · 11/12/2018 01:12

I'm sorry to hear other people have had bad experience with their lips too. I don't think my lips have hurt so much since I put my mouth on some plasma ball thing when I was a child. I've binned mine now.

I'm pleased it was in earlier on and not a few days before Xmas because I'd be so self conscious with this scabby mush, every time I smile bottom lip cracks and bleeds

I'm thankful I only put a tiny tiny bit on and only on a morning, if I'd reapplied through the day I'd be like Mick Jagger now and while those lips might be a good look for some, they are definitely not for me.

@Penguins1 there was def a menthol tingle and menthol type odour for me similar to the sensation plumping products give.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 11/12/2018 07:04

Sorry so many are having problems with the lipbalm, I really like it. I've been putting it on every night and my lips are definitely softer.

Just opened up for today, Nuxe Body Cream. I've put a bit on my arm, the fragrance is quite strong, not sure I'll be able to tolerate too much of it. I do like Nuxe Dry Oil when used sparingly though.

HollyHocks13 · 11/12/2018 07:20

I also really like the lip balm, it's one of my favourites so far. My lips feel great.
Today's body lotion smells quite strong but I like it. I'm going to save this for the next time I go away somewhere.

FlipFlapBat · 11/12/2018 07:30

I’ve used up all my Elasticizer now and my hair is lovely, it’s swishy, shiny and soft. I’m not sure I can afford to use it normally every wash though. I’d definitely be happy to swap with people who didn’t like theirs!

Today’s is okay. I like Nuxe although this isn’t my favourite scent. One to keep for when I go away.

Writersblock2 · 11/12/2018 07:38

I’m loving my calendar so far. The Elasticizer is amazing - no less than half a dozen colleagues (independently) complimented my hair yesterday, which frankly is unheard of. I’ve also loved the eye cream (I don’t look like death, hoorah), the nail polish and the mascara. Perfume is nice too. Wasn’t impressed to get another hair product so soon (and the packaging is very tacky - The Apprentice flop, anyone?!) but I’ll give it a go.

This is my first beauty advent and I’m hooked! Next year I might push the boat out.

Polpette · 11/12/2018 07:49

I like the smell of this even though it's quite strong. Body lotion is the one product that always ended up gathering dust but I'm going to make a concerted effort with this to see if it makes a difference.

I've just bought a jade stone to try skin scraping (sounds scarier than it is!), so this will be a good product to use for that.

Meetonthesledge was the dry oil in a previous calendar? Is it less greasy to use than body lotion?

JessicaJonesJacket · 11/12/2018 07:50

The lip balm was a no here too. I can't remember any other lip product that has tingled so much. I'm undecided about the night cream. It felt too heavy to me but I'm going to try It for a few nights and see if there's any noticeable difference.

likablum · 11/12/2018 08:00

I used the new hair thing last night and my hair is silky today but almost too silky and slippery if you see what I mean?? Prefer the effect with the elasticizer

fredleighton · 11/12/2018 08:10

I didn't find the lip balm stung at all - it's interesting how we are all affected so differently by products. I'm happy with today's body lotion although the smell is quite strong.

latedecember1963 · 11/12/2018 08:20

I've washed my hair this morning and the Percy and Reed product is definitely not as effective on my hair as the Phillip Kingsley elasticiser. I'll use the P&R for "normal" days and save the PK for when I want a swishier result.
Today's body lotion smells cosy and comforting to me. I've put a sparing amount on as it is quite strong.

The value for today is £6.75 which brings our running total to £102.12. There's no way I could ever justify spending that amount of money just to try new products, but the thing I love about the calendar even more is being part of a community of like-minded lovely people. 😊

MeetOnTheSIedge · 11/12/2018 08:27

Polpette yes, three years ago. It sinks in beautifully and has a nice warm fragrance, but strong and long-lasting enough to clash with perfume. I did buy a big bottle after the calendar but only use it occasionally as I'm not a great user of body lotions and potions. There is a shimmery version which doesn't smell the same at all and is IMO quite unpleasant.

SomethingAboutNothing · 11/12/2018 08:53

I never get round to using body moisturiser so today's isn't really a hit for me.

Interesting that people are saying the lip treatment tingles, mine didn't! I wonder if it is an irritant for some.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 11/12/2018 09:02

Love today's! I always use body lotion and it's good to try out a luxury brand. The smell is nice - it could be overwhelming but I have just put it on my arms to try out.

Sorry that so many people are having problems with the lip balm, sounds awful! It tingles on my lips but in a pleasant, mentholly way.

BlancheM · 11/12/2018 09:12

I love everything Nuxe but this isn't my favourite of theirs. Will probably end up using it on my hands though

JessicaJonesJacket · 11/12/2018 10:51

Tried the Percy and Reed overnight but it didn't really work with my hair. It was more fly-away than silky!

latedecember1963 · 11/12/2018 11:05

Mine too, JessicaJonesJacket!
