I wash my hair every morning anyway, so the rinsing out won't make any difference to me. So from my point of view definitely less faff than the elasticiser, which I am doubtful I will get round to using. May be one for a swaps pile.

Pinkgin50 · 10/12/2018 08:58

Will be trying today's offering, tomorrow. I thought it was hand cream at first! It maybe is a bit samey to the elasticiser (which I haven't used yet) but it does smell really lovely so will definitely give it a whirl Smile

HumberElla · 10/12/2018 09:00

Not sure about today’s, but I think the packaging might be putting me off a bit. I’m not feeling the be-corseted sexy Santa in stockings vibe!

latedecember1963 · 10/12/2018 09:07

The Josh Wood hair oil from a couple of years back was gorgeous! I used to put it on my dry elbows as well as to smooth down my dry hair ends.

I used the Ren cream last night and my skin looks less "winter dull" this morning. The smell reminded me of marigolds or callendular.

I'm going to use today's offering tonight and see how the results compare tomorrow with the Elasticiser.
It's worth £6.66 which brings the total so far to £95.37.

DivaDroid · 10/12/2018 09:13

Not sure about today's, bit samey with the elastisizer. Not thrilled really as I have very short hair.
Might give it a go on DD(7) - she has long wavy hair that seems on the dry side.

Haworthia · 10/12/2018 09:19

Intrigued by this one - especially as you apply to dry hair and apparently you don’t have to protect your pillows! Percy & Reed are another brand I’ve known of for years via QVC but never tried.

latedecember1963 · 10/12/2018 09:31

I gave my DS1's GF a set of Percy & Reed minis to take on holiday. They are back tomorrow so I'll ask how she liked them. I walked past the Percy & Reed salon in London a couple of years back and spotted the man who does the demos on QVC. It was closing up time and the salon looked quiet. I wanted to go in and have a chat but my DH was mortified at the idea and hurried me along. 😁

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 10/12/2018 09:41

Polpette that's inspired use of a plant pot!

Well due to a combination of a) I'm blind as a bat at the best of times never mind in half light, and b) it was 7am and I only had the tree lights on, I opened 19 instead of 10 by mistake! I won't spoil it but let's just say 19 was a Dud for me. Do to recover from disappointment I then put the big light on and opened 10. Mmmmm agree that a similar hair product do close to the last one is a bit naff but also agree the dry application and mess free pillow aspect means I'll probably give it a go.

Humber yes! I thought that about the packaging too ... was it designed by Camilla from the Apprentice?!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 10/12/2018 09:46

Today's is packed full of silicones so definitely one for the swap/regifting pile.
I am totally in love with the nail colour though, still on from Sat!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 10/12/2018 09:47

For Do in my last post read "so". Clearly eyesight is worse than one thought 😊

dollyknocker · 10/12/2018 09:56

I too was a bit disappointed with another hair treatment, although agree it is less faff.

I tried the elasticiser last night and my hair does feel silkier. It's been a frizzy nightmare lately so might try and use it once a week or so. Although I'm a lazy arse so will probably be more like once a month!

ihatethecold · 10/12/2018 10:25

I loved last years percy and reed blow dry stuff. Curious to see what’s this is like.
I love elastisizer but it’s a faff.

EchoJuliet · 10/12/2018 13:06

@Awks I wish....

Feawen · 10/12/2018 14:21

I love the elasticiser; it had a great effect, and a few days later my hair still feels silkier than usual. I didn’t apply it to properly wet hair; just dampened my short hair with wet hands, put on a blob of elasticiser, and left overnight to wash out in the morning. I think I'll be buying this.

Not so keen on today’s offering, which is full of silicone, so I’ll pass it on to someone who can use it. (I understand the elasticiser has a little bit, but it’s a long way down the ingredients list and I’m not super-strict).

My face feels very dry today after using the night cream last night, so that isn’t going to a be a purchase either. The nail polish is nice to have.

So some hits and some misses for me - but the point of the calendar was to try some new products without committing to a full size/full price, so I'm enjoying experimenting even though I don't love every product.

YearOfYouRemember · 10/12/2018 14:28

Thank you 70isalimit... for the info.

Polpette · 10/12/2018 18:05

Good question Jessicajonesjacket, it really isn't clear. I'll probably only manage to use the elastisizer once a week as I'll be in too much of a rush midweek.

I agree about the packaging of today's hair product - I'd go as far as calling it a bit tacky.

Is there anything people are really hoping to get or anything you definitely don't want? I'd love a really a really good hydrating face mask or a body scrub but probably wouldn't relish a hand scream.

Polpette · 10/12/2018 18:06

*hand cream!! Although a hand scream sounds equally unappealing.

TheLastQueenOfPop · 10/12/2018 18:14

I'm late to the party this year. Quite pleased so far, love elasticizer, the nail varnish, the Percy and reed hair treatment and the perfume so far. Would like a nice hair oil/styling product and a new lipstick too

BollockingBaubles · 10/12/2018 18:31

I love Percy and Reeds no oil oil and their smoothing polish and could smell by the box it was something of theirs. The elastic stuff didn't work for me for before and I've swapped this years from this calendar so am looking forwards to giving this a go.

Something I. The lip balm is seriously disagreeing with me and while I've only been applying a thin layer once on a morning my lips have gradually become so dry they are splitting and scabbing, so might have to go in the bin. :(

Skin also feels dry from last nights REN.

Nail Polish still looking good with just some minor chipping on thumb nails.

I'm still having fun opening every morning and reading the posts. I'm hoping for a few more pieces of make up. I'm loving the mascara.

YouWereRight · 10/12/2018 19:33

I feel about meh about today's, not disappointed, but just whatever. I've not been blown away by anything I've tried from Percy & reed so far, but I'll give it a go.

The hair oil I just rub a drop or 2 through the ends of my hair and it helps to stop static and frizz.

I'm hoping for new brands, or odd products, like the face former. I don't want any mood of the m&s sleep mask, it turns me into a spotty mess, and they put it in every box thing going. And I don't like the smell of nuxe, so would rather not have that, but I won't be annoyed if there is, I know the calendar wasn't curated to my desires or it would be the liberty one for £35

Skinfulnappies46 · 10/12/2018 19:38

Bit meh about another hair product I cannot use ( not CG friendly)
Wouldn’t mind a cuticle or nail treatment, lip stick or face mask .

recovery18 · 10/12/2018 19:44

I am more likely to use todays hair product than the Elasticiser as you can use it on dry hair and it allegedly won't trash my luffly bedding will still put a towel down though

Richlyfruited · 10/12/2018 19:45

Really enjoying the calendar so far!

The elasticizer worked well even on my straight, fine hair. Not sure about the Percy & Read as seems a bit similar. Would have liked more to try their hair spray or dry shampoo.

Love the mascara but a real faff to remove - says just warm water but not coming off completely. Anyone got any tips as I'll buy a full size if I can work out how to get it off properly!

Will be able to gift the perfume and the nail varnish which is good too!

Eatsleepworkrepeat · 10/12/2018 19:54

bollockingbaubles me too, made my lips incredibly dry and then the skin all peeled off... Been slathering with my usual nivea lipsalve and they seem to be recovering.

BollockingBaubles · 10/12/2018 19:55

@Richlyfruited

Simple Eye MakeUp remover does the trick for me. Usually a damp cloth is enough to remove most of my make up so I don't get through a lot of remover so usually only buy a travel size.

Last year I bough travel sizes of products I use a lot like the Simple cleanser and toner etc and niw decant from full sized into mini bottles and top as as run out so my skin care stuff now all fits in a pretty little bag near mirror instead of big clunky bottles (big clunky bottle now live on bathroom shelf)
