I can't usually use night creams as they're often quite heavy and my skin is oily. But I'm pregnant and my skin is much more dry so looking forward to using this.

recovery18 · 09/12/2018 10:15

Love REN and am target demographic for this type of cream. I currently have some M&S sleep cream on the go so will start this when that runs out.

Polpette I have different places to stash my beauty hoard so each thing goes in a different basket/bag

I have a Very High Profile Meeting tomorrow so I might use the elasticiser tonight and hope my hair is still Kate - like tomorrow.

CupOBlood do you mean you have last years calendar? Don't worry, join in and we can still talk to you about it as most of us had that one and can advise on product use etc. It will be a walk down memory lane Xmas Grin

Good morning, everyone! I've been mainly putting things with my usual pots & potions but I have put a couple of things aside to take to our caravan in March.
Today's cream has a value of £10.80 which brings our running total to £88.71.

Bejazzled · 09/12/2018 10:28

I have a fancy hat box on a shelf in my wardrobe where I store all the goodies. I just dip in when needed.

Penguins1 · 09/12/2018 10:54

Very happy with today's surprise! Never used REN before but have heard of the brand and wondered what it's like. As it's a pricey brand, not tried before so very happy!

Polpette · 09/12/2018 11:09

Tellmewhenthespaceshiplands the brush holder is just a small version of the plant pot behind. Who'd have thought the garden centre would be a good place to buy accessories?!

I love the idea of a big hat box to dip into like yours bejazzled at the moment I'm having to tip my jar out to get to anything at the bottom.

I'm really bad at forgetting to use products and then finding them squirrelled away months later. When everything's in front of me I find it easier to remember.

Thanks for the tip on the elasticizer I will make sure I give it a fair chance to work.

SlowNorris · 09/12/2018 11:34

I prefer the smaller tubes to the big jars these creams normally come in.

I remember reading that the potential benefits from things like antioxidants and minerals are broken down by the constant exposure to the air each time the jar is opened.

It’s also much less hygienic.

woodhill · 09/12/2018 11:57

However, not very environmentally friendly

Milly848 · 09/12/2018 13:25

Happy with today's. I've nearly finished my current night cream so this is handy

Looking forward to trying today's later.

I put the elastizier on last night and slept with it in. Not sure it's made a massive difference, but my hair does look good today!

I have tried putting my new products with my current ones, so that they're there to use. Otherwise I forget and don't get to enjoy them. So I'm already using the shower gel (not as bubbly as the Milton Brown from LF calendar last year), and eye cream, mascara, etc.

diamondsandrose · 09/12/2018 17:28

Catching up after a mad weekend

Poopy have been there, advent thread non MN hug to you and Thanks, its awful I know.

Love the varnish and I remember Leighton Denny on QVC he was hilarious.

What's the deal with the night cream? Need to google the benefits etc

ProjectGainsborough · 09/12/2018 17:39

Ha! So TODAY I got my elasticiser. Whoever suggested upthread that someone has put the 6 and the 9 the wrong way round was right. I blame DD.

Thunderpunt · 09/12/2018 18:22

@ProjectGainsborough 🙋🏻‍♀️ that was me, and when I saw the REN tube in mine this morning i did chuckle to myself... Grin

YearOfYouRemember · 09/12/2018 18:32

I'm enjoying reading all your posts. Will be looking into the face footner.

Doilooklikeatourist · 09/12/2018 18:35

I put some of the elasticiser on my hair this afternoon ( was going out to forage for a Christmas wreath and knew I wouldn’t be seen )

Put a teeny drop on the ends of dry hair , will wash in the morning , but it feels less brittle at the moment ( can’t read the package instructions, as it’s too small )
I’m due a haircut in 10 days or so , so will start using after that

dingdang · 09/12/2018 18:38

Just tried the hair elasticiser - applies pre bath then washed off in a shower after.. hair feels nice bit more soft and fluffy than usual... do you use it everyday or weekly for best results does anyone know

NewDayBlankPage · 09/12/2018 18:49

Hi everyone, checking in 9 days late, oops. But I’ve just caught up on all the thread, like others I enjoy reading everyone’s comments about the products as much as I enjoy opening then!
Last year I bought the Emma hardie moringa cleanser and the mascara (I forget the brand, think of began with g) after using them in the calendar and loving them. I use the Emma hardie as an occasional overnight face mask as well as a cleanser and it makes my skin so soft.
I didn’t get round to using everything from last year, especially as a couple of products puzzled me a bit, and they ended up in the cupboard under my bathroom sink. I’ve just had a look there to remind me of what I hadn’t used to see if anyone can give me any incentive to use them if you loved them (and any tips on how to use them!)
So, it was the rose Otto face oil in the roller, what’s that all about? Apply at night/under makeup? Is there any point? Does it make your skin oily? And also - the dragon blood sculpting gel in an orange tube. Lastly, the Korres advanced facial (am I right in thinking that’s the ‘face footner’ mentioned upthread? - love that term) Any advice and tips would be very much appreciated.

dingdang · 09/12/2018 18:56

I never used the rose oil thing, didn't like the smell. The dragons blood serum is fab. Use
as an overnight mask.

DivaDroid · 09/12/2018 19:04

Hey - is it ok if I join in? I've loved reading this thread, and swapping products seems like a great idea.
I've liked everything so far, except the nail polish. It's not my colour & my nails are far too bitten & crappy anyway.
The eye cream is amazing - others are noticing a difference Shock
I really like the perfume too - it reminds me of something, but I can't remember what.

LoniceraJaponica · 09/12/2018 19:23

I'm surprised at the love for the Emma Hardie Moringa cleanser. It has the consistency of vaseline and brought me out in spots. After a couple of uses I threw mine in the bin.

ProjectGainsborough · 09/12/2018 19:36

@Thunderpunt good detective skills! Grin Can’t wait to use it.

NewDayBlankPage · 09/12/2018 20:06

lonicera, I have very dry skin so that’s probably why the Emma Hardie worked for me. Thanks for the dragons blood advice ding, I’ll use it tonight :)

HumberElla · 09/12/2018 20:14

Full on day today so am late, I did open this early in the morning but didn’t really register what it was.
Love REN, I have a cleanser and day cream so very pleased to try this too.
I have a really stressful start to the working week coming up but I’m genuinely looking forward to my little morning treats!

chemenger · 09/12/2018 20:20

I like the Emma Hardie cleNser, most hot cloth cleansers are very thick, aren’t they? The texture is very similar to Eve Lom cleanser which I also like but is now stupidly expensive.

I still have the Otto rose oil, the Nuxe oil and the liquid gold from last year, never figured out what any of them were for. I was stymied by the liquid gold because it seems to need cotton wool, which I never have, due to teenage dds’ insatiable need for it.

YearOfYouRemember · 09/12/2018 20:24

I am half way through page three but wanted to say I'm so enjoying all your posts and wish I'd got one now, especially as I've decided I need to use all my potions and have enjoyed feeling a bit more looked after. I looked on line to buy a calendar and was shocked to see they are £49.
