I opened advent, thought "oooh that's nice" postwoman knocked on door, got distracted ten mins later remembered lip balm, couldn't find it, dog looked shifty, she was laid on it.

Slid out like butter though. So my top beauty tip today is stick your lip balm tube under your dogs belly 😂

Fatasfook · 07/12/2018 12:04

My lip thing is empty tube! What?!

Fatasfook · 07/12/2018 12:10

Ah no it’s not! Just needs a heat. I recommend storing this in your bra

diamondsandrose · 07/12/2018 12:16

Lip balms in Bras and under dogs tummies

Ponytails under taps

Love this thread

PartTimePunk · 07/12/2018 12:21

After the battle to get it out of the tube I was quite pleased with today's offering.

I put the elasticizer on overnight last night. It smells amazing. While my hair was quite soft and fluffy this morning, it's sort of settled down now and is looking quite shiny and healthy.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 07/12/2018 12:22

Diamonds I tried your hair trick this am! I'd gone for a run with hair back and obviously got a soaking (truly cats and dogs here earlier ... glorious sunshine now Confused). So as hair was already wet and in a pony I slathered a dollop on it then left it whilst I had breakfast and pottered for a bit. Rinsed it then washed in shower and whilst it's still wet as I'm letting it dry naturally, it did feel and smell lovely. So I'll hold final judgment till it's dry later you were absolutely right = no faff! Thanks!

Latedecember thank you so much for running £ tally'

PartTimePunk · 07/12/2018 12:25

Project I'm glad your alternative was something decent and not a nail file or something equally rubbish.

diamondsandrose · 07/12/2018 12:30

You are most welcome very pleased you used my pony tail trick

Don't you think it's so much more fun opening it when we have this thread. I think "ooh I wonder what my friends on MN will make of this!"

diamondsandrose · 07/12/2018 12:31

Thanks for LRP cicaplast tip..will look into it!
If it can fix the "burn" I'll be delighted

SunnyUpNorth · 07/12/2018 12:43

@diamondsandrose best lip balm I’ve ever tried is Eve Lom Kiss Mix. I find most lip balms make dry lips worse but that one seems to heal and then protect. It’s a bit pricey and is a small pot but you only need a tiny bit and don’t have to constantly reapply so I find it lasts me ages, years! I am always buying it for people as a gift.

ajandjjmum · 07/12/2018 13:28

I love the calendar and the thread. DD bought it for me, and I really feel now that I wasn't appreciative enough - I'm loving opening it every morning. Feel really guilty that I only got her a picture advent calendar - knew she was off chocolate! The two of us are away for a long weekend, so I'm taking the next four boxes with me to share.

Totally agree diamonds - much more fun when sharing on MN.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 07/12/2018 14:18

Definitely!

I am away for the weekend too and taking my boxes with me. I tried not look at the spoilers on the side of the box when I took them out...

Rupeomatic · 07/12/2018 14:20

Tried the elasticiser out yesterday - my hair seems to love it! Soft, shiny - someone upthread said they reckon Kate Middleton must use it, well my hair looked a bit Kate-esque (for about half an hour!). Really didn't want to go out in the rain and ruin it today, but so far so good.

Glad everyone else struggled to get the lip balm out of the tube today and it wasn't just me. I was poking it with the end of a paper clip convinced there was a hidden sealSmile Got there in the end and it seems really nice.

Haworthia · 07/12/2018 14:36

I stuck the tube in my bra for 45 minutes - works a treat now Grin

CrazySheepLady · 07/12/2018 14:53

I'm chuffed with today's lip balm is I wear lip balm all the time. I already use Elasticizer on my hair (and find it does help) so yesterday's extra bit won't go amiss!

recovery18 · 07/12/2018 17:02

I don't usually wear this sort of thing unless I have had a really bad cold and ended up with chapped lips. My lips don't really get dry - I always use the Stila lip stain we got in the calendar last year.

However, I will keep it in case I ever need a lip balm and will remember to pop it in my bra!! Xmas Smile

latedecember1963 · 07/12/2018 17:06

I agree with everyone who's said how much fun it is being part of an Advent calendar community. 😊

MeetOnTheSIedge · 07/12/2018 19:12

It is, I look forward to getting up, opening my box, grabbing my phone and going back to bed for 10 mins while I read this thread.

SlowNorris · 07/12/2018 19:32

I agree. Having a thread will probably make me buy another next year. Although I might do the same as some others and get a different one as well to mix things up a bit.

Milly848 · 07/12/2018 19:32

I like today's, the last few days have been pretty good actually.

Yes love sharing it with everyone on the thread! Could not get any lip product out. Luckily I have 2 dogs,a cat and a bra so I’m hopeful for a positive outcome.

Doilooklikeatourist · 07/12/2018 20:18

Have had a very confused moment.

Couldn’t understand why I had 1 too many gifts .. then I realised I’d opened number 9 thinking it was 6 , then opened 6 as well

Will open in the evening from now on

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/12/2018 20:57

Today's tastes quite nice. Have nice swishy hair today, but did leave it on overnight. Thanks accountant December I am liking the adding up part! Xmas Grin

FedupNagging · 07/12/2018 22:18

Loving the lip balm (am a bit of a lip balm addict). I seem to remember loving the eye cream from this brand last year so I may check out other products from them.

I used a bottle spray to dampen hair then combed through the elastisizer & left it whilst I got on watching greys anatomy doing chores. My awkward hair still feels great today.

recovery18 · 07/12/2018 22:47

lip balm addicts - do you wear it under lip colour? Or do you wear it at night?

Or do you just wear it if you aren't wearing lip colour?
