Today’s perfume makes me feel sick! I can give it away though. Neck cream is good though this morning it went a bit jelly and solid while being applied. Weird. Eye cream, hope it works. I need a miracle!

EmeraldVillage · 05/12/2018 12:12

I like the size and the look of the perfume. Not too big and not too small. Not sure about the smell but will try it out on me soon.

It’s interesting that on this thread some people can’t really smell a product but others find it strong. I suspect that rather than duff products some people are more sensitive to particular smells than others.

Butterymuffin · 05/12/2018 13:23

The Korres cream was the advanced repair sleeping facial. Lovely as was the rose smell.

Feawen · 05/12/2018 13:43

I tried a tiny spray on my wrist before leaving home at 7 this morning, and I can definitely still smell it now! I like the scent, which is lucky, since it’s clearly going to be my close companion all day long. I think this more of a cosy evening at home perfume than office wear.

BeaLola · 05/12/2018 13:45

I had to go to work without opening todays.

IIRC last year either within the box or sent to me by email last year after christmas passed was 20% voucher off certain products that were within the calendar. Apologies that I cant recall all the details - just thought they may do the same this time round ?

latedecember1963 · 05/12/2018 15:00

Just back from work & errands for my Mil. The perfume isn't what I'd normally choose but I think I like it. Going to leave it for a couple of hours to see how it settles.

M&S aren't showing this particular scent but 10ml Shay & Blue fragrances they do sell are priced at £10. That brings our running total to £42.71. As Haworthia has also mentioned on the official S&B site it's £25 which would bring us up to £57.71. For the sake of consistency I'm going to stick with the M&S estimate.

BollockingBaubles · 05/12/2018 16:49

The perfume isn't the type of thing I'd usually go for. I only used half a spray on wrists at about seven am this morning and it's still quite strong but only when close.

I'm not sure I like it for me to wear but there's also something very comforting about it and I can't stop sniffing it on my wrist. It reminds me so so much of when I was a child and upset and hugging my Mam. Having a bit of a hard time recently and as daft as it sounds it's making me want to go a sit on my Mams lap and nestle in and have a good cry.

CantChoose · 05/12/2018 17:01

@EmeraldVillage I think you’re absolutely right. I usually have a pretty good sense of smell but DH and I have a scented candle on the go that I simply cannot smell. Everyone else can and apparently it’s quite a strong scent!

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/12/2018 17:23

I’m really pleased with the perfume , I’m in a bit of a perfume rut so this is a real treat

Once Christmas is over , I’m planning on saving to buy myself a posh one next year , as well as a M &S one again next year

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/12/2018 17:24

Thanks December. Love to see the running totals! I prefered the Orange perfume from last year, but it didnt last on me, and I suspect this one will be the same!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/12/2018 17:35

According to the Fragrantica site, this one should last a bit longer than the orange one. The spray is described as Natural Fragrance, rather than EDT, or EDP. Does anyone now how it ranks according to these? Confused.com.

latedecember1963 · 05/12/2018 17:39

You're welcome, SpongeBob. (Love your name!)
Baubles, I have exactly the same thought as you, it brings my mum to mind as well. It must smell similar to one our mums have worn in the past. My mum is 80.
I think it must contain a secret sleeping potion ingredient as I've been fast asleep on the sofa for the past hour and a half!

zucchinieggplant · 05/12/2018 17:39

This perfume isn't my cup of tea at all. It reminds me a bit of a Pravda perfume I used to wear, but that was much lighter. This one certainly has staying power, the spray I put on my wrist this morning lasted through baby swim lessons and I still keep catching a whiff. One to save for swaps!

chemenger · 05/12/2018 18:06

Is a Pravda perfume approved by the KGB?

I loved today's perfume! I've never had a beauty advent calendar before and I am thrilled to bits. I bought it on a whim as I won't get any Christmas presents this year so thought this would be a nice present to myself. So far, so bloody loving it!

louiseaaa · 05/12/2018 19:17

I love this perfume - it's very sweet and floral like bluebells for me
(Disclaimer - I am an aromatherapist so smell a lot of things)

woodhill · 05/12/2018 20:06

Love last years perfum, blood orange, mine lasts,a long time

recovery18 · 05/12/2018 20:09

DD is coming home this weekend so I will get her to bring her perfume (bought her a box) and see if it is any better than the one I have. Then we should have a better idea if it is duff. She says she can smell hers fine so.......

ThePortugueseTart · 05/12/2018 20:21

Nope, the perfume is revolting!

Going to try the neck cream tonight for the first time.

I bought the Korres cream after having the calendar last year. Really lovely product. Great texture and scent.

PanamaPattie · 05/12/2018 20:49

Love the perfume. I put some on this morning and I can still catch some fragrance on my wrist. Very nice.

NotAnActualSheep · 05/12/2018 21:14

Well, the perfume is a bit marmite, isn't it!? I really like it, though it's much stronger than ones I usually use. Put it on this morning and it has embedded itself in my jumper so I keep smelling it. Prefer the smell after a few hours to fresh on.

Enjoying the neck cream too, though it feels disturbingly marshmallow-y to me Grin.

Xmasbaby11 · 05/12/2018 21:16

Love the perfume and so happy it stayed on all day. Much nice than the blood orange one last year!

YouWereRight · 05/12/2018 21:34

I quite like today's perfume. I've disliked the 2 years prior, so it was a bit of a surprise.

Dp nocked my calendar over earlier and mentioned that the back states that you get 25 of the 26 listed possible contents. So I wonder if there will because say that some people get differing products, like the ultrasun lip balm and something else saga of last year.

I agree about the Korres overnight rose cream, it's really lovely and I've repurchased it.

E20mom · 05/12/2018 22:15

I don't mind the perfume. I'll wear it to work.
