I’m 30 and happy with the anti wrinkle creams so far but do hope we’ll be moving on to something completely different now.

It’ll be interesting to see how the creams work as I’ve always been sceptical about anything other than botox/surgery changing the look of wrinkles.

LascellesMoustache · 03/12/2018 21:12

Yeah I think thats my thinking too Norris. I don't think those creams do much either, they just feel like a con. But that said its nice to see lots of people on here are really happy with them so good that the calendars got something for everyone

AllTheProsecco · 03/12/2018 21:16

I've just crept over into late 20s. DH has bought me a different beauty advent calendar for the last 3 years. I had the amazon one last year which had nipple balm in. Amused me greatly whilst breastfeeding DD1.

I loved the shower gel as it's a favourite but I am too cheap to buy it. Not sure about today's as it's not an area I've ever really worried about yet but love the pot!

latedecember1963 · 03/12/2018 21:24

I'll be 55 at the end of this month. Until I had my 1st M & S Advent calendar 3 years ago I was very much in a skin care and makeup rut and didn't have spare money to waste on expensive mistakes.
I really look forward to the calendar and this thread every year!

recovery18 · 03/12/2018 21:27

I am similar situation to december

Early fifties, and got first calendar two years ago and just loved trying all the new and lovely brands.

Rupeomatic · 03/12/2018 21:32

I'm mid-40s and have to say the products last year and so far this year are just right for me!

TheNavigator · 03/12/2018 21:33

I am another early 50s, so very happy with all the anti wrinkle stuff. I would be deeply dischuffed to find a candle in my beauty advent calendar. This is my 3rd year with the M&S calendar & it is great for trying new products, some of which I may purchase (like many I bought a full size sleep cream after trying it last year, I also re bought the mascara from last year & the nuxe shower gel).

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 03/12/2018 21:35

I am 41 and in need of the wrinkle creams! It did kind of feel like last year's was quite weighted towards skin care for the more mature woman, but I guess that's M&S target demographic so to be expected.

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/12/2018 21:37

I’m 58 , happy with my products 👍

Pinkgin50 · 03/12/2018 21:48

I'm 50 and never had a beauty calendar before. Very happy with it so far . It's great to be able to try products which I wouldn't normally buy.

Minniemagoo · 03/12/2018 21:49

The shower gel is lovely and the eye cream feels nice. Liked the glittery pot today but the cream not so much. Like a pp I usually just use my regular moisturiser on the area, so will see if it makes a difference.
Roll on tomorrow, am enjoying the variance so far.

DurhamDurham · 03/12/2018 21:49

48 and always keen to try new products to keep wrinkles, sagging, dryness and age spots at bay.
I'm aware that's a big ask for an advent calendar Grin

Butterymuffin · 03/12/2018 22:37

In my 40s and definitely open to discovering anti-ageing skincare, plus some nice but not too extreme make up. I am very comfortable with the M&S calendar approach. Grin

AtSea1979 · 03/12/2018 22:40

I’m late 30s but don’t mind skin care that’s aimed at wrinkles as I have a few

LoniceraJaponica · 03/12/2018 23:17

“I’ve also bought a lot of the Ameliorate body lotion and the Moringa balm.”

Is this the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm? I only started this at the weekend (from last year’s calendar) and it is awful. So gloopy and greasy, and now I have come out in spots.

I have tried the shower gel and am a bit meh about it. I prefer soap to shower gel, and may use it as a bubble bath instead like a previous poster. My eyes are old and crepey looking, so I will use the eye cream. I will use the throat cream as well. So far nothing has appealed to DD.

I loved the Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial Mask from last year’s calendar and have bought full size pots this year. It is wonderful. Sadly the matching day cream isn’t as nice.

I am 60 BTW.

Xmasbaby11 · 03/12/2018 23:23

I love everything so far. There were some great finds last year and I started wearing lipstick again when I discovered Stila! I struggled to find that colour we were given - had to go on eBay in the end.

I'm early forties and have normal skin so most skincare works for me. I just love The feel of the luxurious products. I'd buy more if I could afford them.

BollockingBaubles · 03/12/2018 23:31

I'm 39.

Dh bough me the 2016 (I think it was) 2016, had NUIT perfume in?) middle of last year for £15 on eBay all unopened and sealed and while I loved it, it's not the same as opening one every day, this is my first advent calendar since I was a child and I've been so excited. I've not peeked at contents and dh covered the back for me so that I wouldn't be tempted

Is it not the norm to have a full sized product in these.? Just that a couple of posters seemed a bit shocked at some people expecting one. The one DH bought me from a previous year had several full sized items in and I thought last years did too. I don't expect any full sized one last but thought there was usually at least one in the calendar.

Candles would bug me. I don't use them as they irritate the dog and it's not a beauty item.

The shower gel was "meh" for me. It was in the calendar dh bought me and I didn't like the scent so happy to swap if anyone gets something they don't like.

The eye cream I'm struggling with as it's making my eyes very watery, I think it's scented face creams that do this to me which is a shame because the formula is lovely. I'll probably only use at night when watery eyes won't ruin my make up. My usual eye (and face) cream is just the Simple one as it's the only one I've found that works and isn't scented so doesn't make my eyes constantly water.

The neck cream I love the formula and the scent and it seems to absorb beautifully. It's a product I'd never have bought and in all honestly never will unless it actually does something. I'll be keeping the pot.

I've taken photos of my eyes and neck and will compare once I've used the samples up. Will do the same with any other skincare products i might get.

I'm hoping for some make up tomorrow

diamondsandrose · 04/12/2018 00:12

Signing in for today

Agree Prai should have provided a different item from the summer beauty box but ah well. Laughing at the Facebook glittering, it does look like it should have a matching blinged up miniature Echo Falls

Thank you latedecember for the tally, fascinating. Keep up the good work please!

I hope m&s are reading this, this is amazing free market research

I'm in the "loving a luxury mini size" camp by the way, early forties. Not much I haven't liked in the last 3 years of m&s advent plus summer boxes Smile

MyNameIsJane · 04/12/2018 05:53

I prefer mini size products too.

CupoBlood · 04/12/2018 06:40

Morning all

So a fav for the calendar today, a Eyeko mascara. I love these mascaras plus love they are different ones each time. This one is meant to stimulate lash growth.

Happy bunny score 4/4.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 04/12/2018 07:04

Morning! I've never heard of Eyeko but I'll try it today, just hoping its not a tubing formula as I don't like them.

panicovernow · 04/12/2018 07:08

Always an Eyeko product in the calendar which I appreciate. Have found previous mascaras and eyeliners to be really good. Happy with today's box

Pinkgin50 · 04/12/2018 07:22

Really happy that there's a variety of products but unfortunately I don't wear mascara but my DD will be more than happy to take it off my hands! Looked it up and seems a good quality brand.

SomethingAboutNothing · 04/12/2018 07:27

Mascara is always a good shout so I'm happy with that.

Not bothered by neck cream, I'm 31 so possibly a little too young to appreciate it. Might regift that to my mum. I gave the perfume to my MIL last year as it wasn't really for me. I'll probably get given it back this year though 😂

jerkkneed · 04/12/2018 07:30

Ooooh today's one says it helps your lashes to grow. We'll see if that works!

Thought it was going to be eyeshadow when I saw the box.
