I also thought eyeshadow when I saw the 'festive eyes' wording. Happy with the mascara though - I've used and liked last year's Eyeko one and the brush was good.

Last year's calendar had two mascaras in and I felt that was slightly excessive. We may encounter another later but I'll be happy to stick with this.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 04/12/2018 07:42

Just put it on, I like it. Nice and natural
looking.

Minniemagoo · 04/12/2018 07:56

I'm not a regular mascara wearer but have a big meeting tomorrow so will try it out then. If it lasts, doesn't give me Panda eyes at the end of the day or take half a bottle of eye makeup remover to clean it off I'll be happy.
Like a PP I prefer mini sized makeup so happy with the sizes.

MaudesMum · 04/12/2018 07:56

mid-50s here! I was very scientific with last year's - went through them in turn and even wrote notes! It shook me out of a rut and I have gone on to use several of the brands on a regular basis. In particular, Wild Rose and also Nuxe. This week I'm concentrating on the eye cream - if I look at all better by the time it runs out that could be a keeper. Too early to tell...

karala · 04/12/2018 08:08

I worry about the mascara because I think I've reached that age where I might look like a drag queen and not in a good way. Anyway I've done the top lashes and will try not to rub my eyes

karala · 04/12/2018 08:10

klaxon on neck cream - you are NEVER too young. The point is that you moisturise now to get the benefit later unlike me who is slapping it on in the hope that it covers the cracks

fredleighton · 04/12/2018 08:13

I think I might make some notes this year to remind me of the products I liked. I loved the Korres rose overnight cream last year and bought it again. I'm also in my 50s.
I tried the neck cream this morning and liked the texture. Will keep applying it as I tend to be lazy about my neck.
Not fussed on the mascara as I personally prefer skincare to cosmetics in my advent calendar but that's personal preference and it's perfect to put away for holidays.

Feawen · 04/12/2018 08:21

Nice! I feel like we were due a makeup product. I’ve applied the mascara this morning so I’ll see how it looks by the end of the day.

I’m dubious about it encouraging lash growth though - I don’t put mascara right at the roots of my lashes so it won’t get to the growing part - but maybe that’s just me!

Feawen · 04/12/2018 08:25

Do you find any specific benefits of neck cream over standard moisturiser and sun screen though @karala? I agree that prevention is good! Just not sure I actually need a separate product. Maybe I’ll find out the answer myself by the time I’ve used up my glitterpot Smile

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 04/12/2018 08:27

Always happy with a mascara! I wear it everyday and love trying new ones. Just applied this and so far so good...nice and natural and no clumping.

karala · 04/12/2018 08:36

feawen I agree it does seem a faff to have so many products and I never used anything other than an all-round moisturiser and to be honest, I probably won't bother now because that ship has sailed.

Chrysanthemum5 · 04/12/2018 08:42

At last one I can read! Just put the mascara on and I love it

Alwayscheerful · 04/12/2018 08:58

Oh dear I bought my calendar home a month ago, immediately opened all the windows and put all the products in a basket, I love the mascara.

Strawberryfield12 · 04/12/2018 09:06

Just caught up with yesterday’s posts and thought I would post a picture of Prai neck cream full size jar I received in Good Housekeeping beauty box. Grin

I’m 42 and while I have been very lucky with wrinkles so far, I definitely welcome and enjoy anti-ageing products in the calendar. I think the cream or serum can only do something to delay ageing. Once it’s gone all South no cream will pull it back up.

They like their blingy pots don't they? ShockGrin

recovery18 · 04/12/2018 09:36

Is it black or blue? I am guessing it's black or people would be complaining. I was hoping it would be blue Xmas Grin

I need a new mascara so perfect for me.

BeaLola · 04/12/2018 10:03

I'm 50 & have had the M&S calendars since they first introduced them.

I love the sizes and have gone onto buy Percy & Reed, Korres & Nuxe as a result. The nail varnishes & make up brushes are my no's but I happily regift to a colleague/friends daughter.

Love shower gels, face masks & eye creams in general as it makes me try new things. Wish though that M&S would put the best product to use on Christmas day in the last box - eg special shower gel or perfume (maybe this year they have ?)

I feel a bit of a dipstick this year as its only today that I have woken up & realise that the comments on the boxes reflect the item inside ! In my defence its usually very early when I open it …...

latedecember1963 · 04/12/2018 10:15

I'm very happy with today's mascara. I prefer navy mascara too, Recovery18, as my House of Colour season is Summer, but navy is really hard to find.
There is a travel size version of this on the M & S website at £10 for 4ml which is what we have.
However, for consistency, I've worked out the price based on the full sized version which works out at £9.48.
Total value for 4 days is £32.71.
Not had a call for work, so time to stop procrastinating and go and tackle the ironing!😊

Strawberryfield12 · 04/12/2018 10:27

Ha ha ha. The pot is black. I was wondering what was the meaning of the paws and bones on the pot, but felt grateful there was no turkey neck related pictures on it.

SlowNorris · 04/12/2018 10:32

Happy with today.

If others are like me and are gifted cosmetics at Christmas then things like this come if very useful as by this time of the year I’ve often run out of products but it’s too close to Christmas to big new ones as I know I’ll be gifted them.

So the travel size is very handy.

EmeraldVillage · 04/12/2018 10:45

I’m wearing the mascara today. I normally only wear tubing else I get panda eyes so will be interesting to see how it lasts. Not wholly convinced caffeine is a necessity ingredient in mascara but there you go.

Eye cream and neck cream were nice but not products I would usually use. Because whilst I like trying new bits I don’t normally use that much stuff regularly.

PanamaPattie · 04/12/2018 10:48

Very happy with the neck cream - the fragrance is gorgeous. Love the mascara.

SlowNorris · 04/12/2018 11:17

My neck cream doesn’t smell Confused what does yours smell of, Pattie?

MeetOnTheSIedge · 04/12/2018 11:22

I didn't like the fragrance of the neck cream at all, but I do like the texture.

SlowNorris · 04/12/2018 11:25

Mine definitely doesn’t smell. I either have a bad batch or a cold, both are a possibility.
