I think tonight's look is dreadful. She's pregnant, changing shape in front of the world, which is of course shit. But tonight was an utter miss.

Seraphine has some beautiful maternity evening wear. If she wasn't so minimal, she could wear something high end high street pop on a diamond necklace and look fabulous !
I.do wonder if there is anything art deco in the royal jewel vault. I hate to draw the comparison but Wallis Simpson's Cartier jewelry was amazing, and it would suit meghan

Beautiful gowns in that link. Agree something like that would be perfect. But maybe she’s adjusting to pregnancy and the changes that appear to be rapid.

I really hope Meghan gets to meet Michelle. She needs a friend; equally high profile with an understanding of issues facing African American / biracial women.

Ida I agree with everything you say. Being born in the late 1960s I'm old enough to remember the lead up to the wedding and the aftermath.

This looks as if she just left the beach in Santa Monica. She needs to talk to other royal/aristocratic women about how they do it. It is especially hard with pregnancy shape changing but presumably it was her and Harry's decision to do everything in such a rush.

Re her hair, could it be that she can't have usual treatments on it, making it less easy to style?

That outfit is dreadful tonight and she has got it spot on in her choices prior to this. Those Seraphine dresses Curly posted would have been beautiful and so reasonable in comparison to the Dynasty ( a la Joan Collins) style and ill fitting top and the skirt trailing in the rain.

Dear God. I have just looked at the pictures. What on earth did she think she was dressing for? Everything about her outfit and hair is just wrong. The skirt is trailing on the ground and is shapeless. The top is just horrible and inappropriate for the occasion and her hair is a mess. Why is someone not taking her aside and giving her some advice? She needs a proper stylist. Also, I find the way she walks and stands and her cutesy smiles and waves just annoying. Sorry. She is really beginning to grate on me.

I wonder if the director at Safiya will be pissed off with the random ribbon halter neck addition which looks like it’s just been tacked on and (in my opinion) changes the look of the top considerably for the worse.

I feel sorry for DoS. The outfit does her no favours and makes her look further on than she is perhaps. I remember feeling so self conscious trying to figure out what to wear during my first pregnancy. Nothing that had previously worked did anymore, it felt like my shape changed daily and I was embarrassed by the way I looked and that's without the press and so many people taking photos and critiquing my choices.
A good stylist to marry her clothes to her preferred style, changing shape and role but also maybe to boost her confidence too is needed.

CaptainMorgansMistress. I doubt it. It’s free publicity and while it may not have been a massive success I’m betting their sales will still be up now they have provided 3 gowns for Meghan

It must be really difficult trying to get to grips with having to get to grips with a completely new fashion culture and set of “rules”, even without the complication of the maternity element.

As an aside, I find it really interesting which women’s style or taste adapts well to dressing for pregnancy and whose doesn’t.

DoS’s outfit this evening has made me think of when a pregnant Kim Kardashian turned up to the Met Gala looking like a 3 piece suite in a floral gown with gloves because she just didn’t appreciate she was dressing a completely different body type.

Harry looks pretty miserable in all the photos.
